Just returning from beautiful Oahu Hawaii where I took a trek through the Waimea Valley to Waimea Falls. Join me as I venture through the amazing gardens on my way to the falls.
Amazing that this is 7 years ago as I'm watching it on 4-25-24. Astonishing how you haven't aged any in that time. Hawaii sure is a pretty and intriguing place. Thank You for taking to the islands from the comfort of my easy chair in Alabama. You had a knack for excellent videography even back then. You are truly gifted. Keep posting and I'll keep watching. This video just doesn't make it without you in that gorgeous shirt you were wearing. The color of blue really make you shine even more than other wise. You are a gorgeous woman !!!
OMG - how far you have come as a host and videographer. As you have figured out by now (4 years later) you can keep all your warmth and personality while dropping the obvious distractions and amping up the visual storytelling. Thanks for keeping this on your channel as every super group has a “Cavern Club” they played at many years prior.
Love your Beatles analogy! They are one of my all time faves. Yes...these old videos are quite embarrassing. I always hope no one goes back to watch them, but I think it is interesting to actually see the progression. My Cavern Club days. lol

Well...the Big Island has a bit of everything and is the most diverse. If you want a less touristy experience, Kauai is a good choice. It is my favorite Island of them all and the smallest. The Garden Isle. Very beautiful...but really they all are. Maui is gorgeous, but it's definitely a big one for tourists. When I go to a tropical Island, I want to feel away from it all. I spend a lot of time on Oahu because it's where the Triple Crown of Surfing is held. I haven't mentioned it in my Vlogs, but I started my photography career as a Surf Photographer. Oahu has some world renowned surf breaks like Banzai Pipeline which I've photographed many times. I don't think I was very helpful with my answer. haha You really can't go wrong on any of them.

Oh...thank you. Yes, I still use my Canon for all non-hiking/backpacking photos. I am really impressed with my little Sony for use on the trail. Never would have guessed a point and shoot could perform so well. That's cool you shoot. I should have guessed by the quality of your videos.
It's a really beautiful place. I've heard of an awesome hike there on Ohau called Crouching Lion, but understand it's difficult. I'd like to try that one next time I'm there. Thank you for watching!
Loved this video also. Never have been to HI. I'm glad you have a a successful career that allows to make these videos for us. And you still are amazing especially on your newer ones with 4k. Just gorgeous. Also a quick thunderstorm just seems to clean everything up and make it prettier. Happy travels!

It is absolutely safe. It's a very family friendly spot and an easy hike all on paved road. They actually have shuttles that will drive you to and from the falls if you don't want to do the hike with a toddler. I recommend at least hiking one way so you can really see all the beautiful flowers.

I was stationed on Oahu from 82 - 85. I went swimming here a couple times. Hawaii is so beautiful! Expensive, but beautiful!

How far is Waimea Falls/Valley from Waimea beach? Could we go to the beach then walk to the trail?
Not far! The park is right behind Waimea beach on the other side of Kam Hwy. You could walk there. It’d be a few miles each way.
