- Waimea Valley on Oahu's North Shore has a beautiful botanical garden and easily accessible waterfall that you can swim in. The botanical garden includes 52 themed gardens and has over 5000 documented types of tropical and subtropical plants including native Hawaiian plants and globally endangered species. It's about a mile walk through the gardens to get to the falls, or you can take a shuttle to the waterfall.

Our family has visited Oahu the last 3 yrs and visited Waimea twice. Thank you for listing the names of some of the beautiful plants seen along the hike
You're welcome! It's a beautiful place. 😃
I used to go to Waimea falls as a kid with my family long long ago when there was only a narrow dirt foot path with a lot of big rocks to the falls. Later on in my teens my friends and I used to hike the trail to Waimea falls to go swimming in the pools below the falls and jump off the rocks into the pool. Life was good in those days. Brings back a lot of good memories.
Sounds like some good memories 😀
@@murphytravelsofficial yeah, Hawaii wasn’t so overpopulated then.
Used to go here as a kid many times!
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!! 🙂
Thank you for the videos! Do you need a life jackets for most of the waterfall hikes? We’re traveling to Hawaii next month
Most of the waterfalls we've hiked to in Hawaii are on public land so you don't have to wear a life jacket if you don't want. Waimea Falls is on private land so you have to follow their rules. There is a fee to enter the botanical gardens/falls but the life jackets were provided with no additional cost.
You can find more info on their site: www.waimeavalley.net/
@@murphytravelsofficial thank you for sharing! That’s great they offer life jackets! We’re traveling from MI and trying to pack light.
You're welcome. Enjoy your trip! 🙂
Absolutely blitzed bruh lmao!!!
Bro at the local pizza shop sells bud fyi
Is there a safe place to put your bag if you go alone
I'm not sure. When we were there, most of the people just left their bags on the ground next to the falls. That's what we did and didn't have any issue. There are employees working there handing out the life jackets so it's possible they might watch a bag for you. You could call and find out for sure. The number from their website is (808) 638-7766.
Yes there's a sitting staircase for everyone you can put it there and they have alot of workers aroud..you'll enjoy it
@@Des_10_ny It probably varies from day to day, but there are usually a lot of people swimming in it, so it wouldn't be super clean, but it's flowing so there is always new water coming in. There is an underwater shot at 3:58 were you can see the visibility.
@@Des_10_ny when I went it was clean
Is the water deep ?
It is shallow where you get in, but gets deep as you get closer to the falls.
Hi! How far was this hike/ hike time? Traveling with a toddler as well
I believe if you go directly to the falls the hike is only about 3/4 miles one way. But it is through a botanical garden that has a lot of side paths/trails and loops you can walk on to see different gardens and tropical plants. So the time will depend on how much of the botanical garden you want to see.
