Psalm 97:5 stood out to me about the mountains melting like wax before the Lord. I first thought of literal mountains and how sturdy and strong they seem, yet in the Lord's presence they become nothing. Then I thought of the mountains in our lives that represent obstacles and how they are nothing to God and with Him we can overcome them.
“The LORD is king! Let the earth rejoice!” (Ps 97:1) But what does that really mean, for the earth to rejoice? What does it look like for “the sea and everything in it” to “shout His praise”; for “the rivers to clap their hands in glee” and the “hills to sing out their songs of joy”? (Ps 98:7-8) It’s tempting to think of “the hills being alive with the Sound of Music,” but think more deeply about how the maker of the sea (“the sea belongs to Him, for He made it,” Ps 95:5) builds in a rhythm to the waves, how the trickling of those peaceful streams in Ps 23 make a music. Hiking the sheer cliffs of Kaua’i’s Napali coast is mind-blowing to realize the power that created those 4,000’ fluted ridges that plunge into the Pacific in the most remote islands in the world. God’s nature, His intricate personality, literally informs His creation, and we hear and feel the bass of the waves, and the treble of the receding tide-and know that He is present as the “sea shouts His praise.”
"We have everything we need to know Him better, and respond to Him with worship" AMEN!😭we literally have everything we need to draw nearer to our God, and Him nearer to us. Since our reading of Psalm 23 I have been transforming into a version of me that does not desire any worldly things and only desires God's presence and hand in all my life: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". ❣
I love the 3 postures of our worshipping heart: bowing, down, kneeling. We are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Hear His voice today and do not harden your heart towards him! For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised! All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Psalm 95- God is supreme over the earthly and spiritual realm. He is worthy of worship. 3 different postures for worship are shown. Bowing, down and kneeling. Humble postures of honor and submission. God is our shepherd and calls us the sheep of His hand. A more intimate relational picture. He is our maker and shepherd. He is all the time with us and watching over us. There is caution given about not allowing your heart to be hardened. Rest and restoration are for those who stay close to Him. Psalm 97- God is sovereign over everything. God is depicted as a powerful storm. He melts the mountains like wax. This is a powerful picture for the unbelievers who believed their gods were in the mountains. God shames them by bringing them low. Psalm 98 has a lot in common with Isaiah 52 referencing the coming Messiah. All the end of the Earth shall see God’s salvation. Psalm 99- all about God’s kingship. He rules with equity and justice. He has given us His presence and given us His word. He has given us everything we need to know Him. He forgives us when we sin. We lack nothing. Psalm 97:11 Light and joy are sown. God does the sowing. Sometimes it takes a while for things to grow and bear fruit. But we can trust that they have been sown for us by His own hand and love.
My God shot was in Psalm 98:3. Our God is the God of salvation! The Bible has always been pointing to Jesus through all the Old Testament, but ultimately, God is our salvation, in the big and small. God is good!
Praise God for transforming Heart's 💯🙌🏾❤️to Him be glory!! Good morning bible Family, Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️ He is where the Joy is ❤️💯🙌🏾

I love in 98:2 how it states that he makes His salvation known. God does not hide from us. He is waiting for all who would come to Him.

That's beautiful imagery, TLC- God as our Gardener sowing seeds of joy and light. Amen

We just sang verses of Psalm 95 in church yesterday. We sing verses from Psalm 97 often, too. I love singing the Word. It really help us remember it

Hey Bible Readers!
My God shot was Psalm 97:10-12 🙏
Psalm 97 holds prophecy and the psalmist was aware of it. He also quoted the Lord directly
Amen Tara-Leigh Cobble!
