I must be old and sentimental, this brings tears to my eyes. All the greats that have gone before and also knowing that the elders don't have much time either. We have got to thank them while they and us are still around.
yep
So sad 😷
Don Moore Lore love thank
I have been thanking them for 40 years, ....It IS enough?
Let them know while they are still on this Earth....... ☮️♥️
Steve Winwood always brings his A game! What an organ riff!
Winwood is an absolute beast. I'm 26 and only really discovered him this last year or so and now buying all his old LPs. Most of my mates are musicians and know their stuff, but not one of them knew anything about him. The guy is a guru and he's been the secret sauce on so many iconic records!! I only realised about 6 months ago that he played on my favourite Paul Weller song - I've been spinning and loving that for 10 years lol 😆
@@GAFloppa Indeed he is one of the best, not incidentally one of the best singers in rock and roll history. As for iconic recordings, let's not forget his organ playing on Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child."
Nile Rodgers is a groove machine and a showman. Love his funky approach on that blues. Clapton is a killer, his playing is soulful
I still love Clapton! ❤️
Great tribute to Ginger, what a band all playing great.Eric seems to be ageless, looking great
I forgot how good Niles Rogers was , a superb selection of players. RIP Ginger.
His first little lick, and funky rhythm playing, had me in the comments right away to find out who the dude with the dreads was. Great stage presence.
Clapton rocks the soul out of a guitar, master artist at work. Sheer joy to hear his sound that defines the good life.
Ginger would be proud !! Great group of talent getting together to honor a great drummer !!!!
NILE ROGERS Forget all his disco & LeChic success' & hits......he's a BLUES MAN at heart. The Vaughn Bros. producer.
Wow, Nile Rodgers just kicks ass! What a great jam by everyone.
Not really it was pretty awful
@@mojopin70 you must be watchen summit else then
Who is he?
5 drummers, that is almost enough to replace Ginger in this one...RIP you old rascal.
the love fest at the end with Niles playing got to me...wow.
That’s right. ❤️❤️❤️
It's great his son Kofi represented.
EARGASM
R.I.P. Mr Baker
That Hammersmith stage has hosted some memorable concerts given by musical legends & masters.
Ginger Baker. What a nice Guy! Said no one literally ever!
But he was a great percussionist! And he lived to be 80 which is a minor miracle considering how much drink 🍷 and drugs he consumed during his crazy life.
And he was one third of the legendary power trio Cream. That was a great Band! Mainly because of Jack Bruce’s vocals and songs but Baker made the drummer’s role more prominent than ever. So he made his contribution to that band.
In an interview once, he was told that Cream may have given birth to Heavy Metal! To which he promptly winced with disgust and said: It should have been Aborted Instead! He was more of a Jazz Rock drummer.
He didn’t want the credit or the blame for that lame genre. He was very blunt and told you to your face what he liked or disliked. At least you knew where you stood with him. He either liked you or hated you.
No in between!
RIP Baker and Bruce
-maybe they are together again, jamming and arguing again like old times!
Before drugs he was a prick and downright odd. The three of them stayed at my girlfriend's mums house many many decades ago and I saw him in action. At time did not have a clue who they were, sadly!, I was just 14/15. But he scared the shit out of me
@socal rocks His personality was always fucked up :)
I called GB out a couple of years ago on a Facebook site for showing up late at a Blind Faith concert. I got a "Laugh" back from him. At least he could laugh at himself. RIP Ginger A pain in the ass, but a great drummer.
This sounds amazing. Eric Clapton still sounds great!
Sings even BETTER
@@pabloperez4063yes
Incredible : I will say the best sound of a Rock concert Ever of the Rock History , more cleanest sound is impossible !!!Long live Rockers , The Old Rock and Rockers will Never Die .
Ain't going to see that many greats altogether much more. The greats from the 60's and 70's are dwindling away. Generation today don't have the vibe like the past. That's why bands of the great rock are still playing concerts today.
Priceless performances by those of long standing..RIP Ginger Baker, your timing and rhythms were beyond brilliant.........
Nile Rodgers is a beast! What a surprise that he fitted right in on that.
I thought he sounded better than everybody else..., a great lead and dead-on with the rhythm...
@@kitano0 Quality musician A+
He was a great addition - shook things up a bit. And he certainly wasn't ready to call it a night at 10.30pm!
I recommend everybody to watch the whole tribute. It is in you tube
Yes, Ronny Wood is getting Younger and Younger ….hope those great guys, live many more years...because nobody much left behind after those genuis.
It IS HIS wig
Guess I'm gonna have to be the one to point out Mr Steve Gadd back there on them black Recording Customs. Whole legend status. 🏆Shout out to Sonny Emory next door, too. 🥁🥁
Steve likes being in the background...shoot, all 5 of them up there are legends. 5 drummers, damn...only 4 drum sets, they made due.
I play guitar as my primary instrument but for a time I practiced playing drums and took some lessons and studied it. I came across Steve Gadd during that time. I had a lesson VHS tape of him. I must say he was one of a few drummers that could just sit there and play a drum set with no other instruments and it was just music to my ears! Awesome and inspired me.
It was someone's personal camera, not a professional production, unfortunately. Only the left stage angle.
@@susand2008 there were pro cameras filming the gig but no idea if there will be a DVD release. I asked Nettie Baker but she didn't know.
If you click on the down arrow to the right of the title you'll see a list of artists. It's been there all the time but if any are missing let me know. The number of characters for a video title is very limited so no way everyone could be included there.
This is so special, I may cry.
RIP Ginger Baker drums extraordinaire
Delivers, damn. Defines living in the spirit of Baker, satified.
I was lucky to see goodbye cream tour and Cream do live wheels of fire at fabulous forum , that included the greatest drum solo in rock and roll history . How do I know , seen em all . Cream 2nd most influential group all time ....
How is Clapton still this awesome at this age?!!!
He made a pact with God (the real one LOL) who saved him from the drink and drugs in the 70s if he reformed and set up the Crossroads Center. The result is God saved EC to become the legend he is. 😉
@@akaWooders yeah that’s probably it
Because he’s clone
I am glad to see that Kofi Baker was included. He's a good guy. GREAT drummer! Go look him up.
Th nicest guy ever, always happy to spend time talking with fans.
Memorys😊love you eric😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing guitarists and amazing drummers 👏
loving great band and the fab voice of katie kissoon
I saw Kofi Baker, Will Johns and Malcolm Bruce on the "Music of Cream" tour. It was great. RIP GINGER 🥁
Down my Ear Canals and Straight to the Heart Strings........ Coooooool! Many Thankyyoooz
Quel plaisir de voir et entendre de tels musiciens!!!
wish I would of been there they where the masters of there craft and there music will live on forever grew upwith cream those where the days
sam thomas - christ, learn to say “would HAVE”, not “would OF”. Learn how to spell “were”. Learn when to use “their” instead of “there”. Learn how to use punctuation. You probably don’t even know that means.
Get a good look. You may never see a better collection of musicians!
Great upload! And filming.
Thanks so much!
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
4 different guitarists on stage, awesome.
Nile rodgers, INOLVIDABLE de lo mejor de la musica disco, aqui, gracias NILE.
Last Cream, happy 75th birthday, Mr. Slowhand!
Wonderful!!!
Great job, guys! One of my all time favorites.
Great music!!!!
I hope someone takes over the crossroads after these greats are done.to see all this talent on 1 stage is so great.
Thanks
Gran performance 🎸🎸
Crossroads al estilo de Clapton.
#ClaptonIsGod
Chris Stainton still tearing it up on piano.
I thought it was Steve winwood on piano. Am I correct?
@@silvagieddes3641 Winwood is playing organ on the left. Chris Stainton is playing piano on the right.
@John Jones If you can't hear him at 2:57 you really should have your hearing checked friend.
Been with Eric forever and it doesn't take long to see why. Amazing player.
I was there.
How lucky were u Ian.. Really!
This is the good stuff
Thanks akawooders I felt like I was at the show...great job.
Steve Winwood is so good too
Эрик, ты лучший!
What a line up!!!🥰
Why the hell wasn't I there... This would have been all I ever wanted to hear and see
Watching this, i have had ThE same feeling.
You can see ThE whole concert on YT now
Will Johns on Musicman red guitar.
ROCKIN!
Clapton stands alone... no one there could touch him..
Personally disagree, Nile Rodgers did that. Hell of a musician
wow
I listened to this one. Okay I guess. then I went back to the original and almost wet my pants. A dozen people on stage. Only three in cream. Those were the days my friend, yes they were.
How cool is this?
I just noticed Ron Woods has a guitar exactly like my dearly departed LOVE. 1/12/20. 😭RIP Jessie Lee Monroe. These guys play Almost as good as You! 😉😍🤗😚😚😚😏😄. I Love you baby 😢💖💔🖤. YOUR my 24/7. I miss you so much. 🎼🎵🎶🎸🎤🌌🌌🌠
I’m really sorry to hear that
Guitar God Took over
The dude is 74 and he fucking owns the stage. Much respect
Awesome
Neil Peart, Jason Bonham, and ginger baker may God rest your souls
Jason Bonham ?
Scott Weber I think he meant John 😊
É 10!!!
Блистательное исполнение! Созвездие на сцене!
❤️
I'm over 80 and i'm still doing this song, Not so good as 50yrs ago (Have a look for me on UA-cam "Gib Williamson Crossroads" ) and say a few words
love it!!!!!!!!
@socal rocks You've made my day mate thanks
oh my gadd
gadd dammit
our drumlord our gadd
@RakeRocter no. EC God. Steve Gadd is his name. that is the drummer.. therefore the play on words
To have attended that show...
I'm watching this to remind me what a good time me and my then 19 year old son had at this concert: as a guitar player he wants to see all his influences. Next one Peter Frampton in November.
Mick taylor would have been a nice addition
I was thinking ThE same....because he worshiped Eric when he started, he worked with Jack, he loved Cream (in fact, he aattended the RAH may 2005 concert as one more spectator
did not forget much
This is of course a much slower, bluesier version of the song Cream recorded. You know if Baker were in the audience he would have shouted out to speed it up a bit... Jack Bruce's bass play on the Cream version still blows me away.
Not that dissimilar to the version Cream played at the reunion though. Well that was faster but already much more laid back than the frantic 60s versions
クラプトンは何歳になってもカッコイイ。
そう思います。
Nile didn't want it to end.
super
The black guitar player who kept playing at the end, only knew rudimentary riffs, he was always a split second slow in timing, always love to see Dr. Winwood though, there's only one Steve Winwood. A voice like that at his age? Unbelievable.
Yes...Love Winwood since I was a teen...the Black guitar player was Nile Rodgers one of the top musicians of several genres, guitarist, writer, producer and plays way better than you give credit. Looked like he was having fun entertaining the crowd like the true showman he is. Everyone on that stage knows that music is not a sport...it is a magical art form. 😊🎸
What a song he sold his soul to the devil to be a great rock god the devil has to have pay ment that’s the story of the song we all sell out some time we have to to pay back well don’t we all
Lol! It's just a story mean to frighten children haha!
Willie Weeks on bass?
Correct - check out the list of artists on the drop down immediately below the video.
From this mobile, we hear the amp of Neil quite clear
What mobile? I was using my Panasonic Lumix TZ40 at this concert.
Neil who?
Ron Wood observes some confusion at 6:14. Ron Wood: "Roger, you're supposed to HIT the COWBELL. Ya' know, keep the beat. Roger Waters: "Oh, is THAT what it's for......" Ron Wood: Yeah Roger....more cowbell....MORE COWBELL!"
Who is the guitarist on the far left? Is he using a fender? Amazing sound 👏
Nile Rodgers and yes, his old vintage hardtail Strat with metal pickguard.
Who the heck could, would or did play 'TOAD' on this evening?
Yes. You can find ThE whole gig on YT now. Worth It. Use headphones.
36 idiots 'disliked' this!???! What a waste of 36 human beings! Awesome show Eric!!! Hat's off to you and all involved.
Nile Rodgers seemed to enjoy that stage all to himself. Did he think he was the star of the show? He certainly enjoys being the centre of attention.
I consider Nile to be a genius and a great guy...he was having fun and playing great!
You're a Nile fanboy. You would say that. He should have walked off with the others, but no, he wanted the attention to be on him. Ginger Baker would have told him to get off the stage.
My license plate says “EC IS GOD”
do i see a member from a band called Pink Floyd i listened to as a child
Believe you do...a Mr. Waters, I've been told.
and the background vocals kind of make this performance.
Just wondering where Roger Waters bass is? I see Nathan East. Not trying to be picky, just wondering.
Roger never considered himself much of a bassist. In fact, he proclaimed he's not really interested in playing instruments!
Not even sure why Nile Rogers is on that stage, name me any 3 Chic records?.
so it takes what ? 4 drummers to replace Ginger ??
What happened to Malcomb Bruce!!? Son of Jack.
No more than this.....¡
Ronnie Wood. Why????
Well...ThE same could go x r Waters or Neil, or....
They dont hurt
❤😂🎉😅
You forgot to name Nile Rodgers, Ron Wood, Stevie Winwood and many more...
There's only a very limited number of characters for the title of a video. If you click on the down arrow to the right of the title you'll see a full list of artists in the description.
Nile Rodgers, the producer of Madonna and Duran Duran 😂
And the Vaughan Brothers.
And let,s dance
Always nice to pay tribute to your comrades. And I agree that most of the guitar playing is fairly moderate at best. But these guys are about being songwriters and people love rock stars more than adventurous playing. For that you need to defer to Jeff Beck or John McGlaughlin from this era.
these gentlemen have "walked the walk"!
Nobody on that stage wrote 'Crossroads' though, did they?
John Della Selva it’s not a competition John, it’s music, it’s the emotional connection that matters
@@GraemeCampbellMusic Absolutely Graeme! I was just referring to these players as current guitar heroes. They had their turn at gunslinger and decided it was about the song and what it served it best. Jeff Beck and John McGlaughlin are more guitarists whom are concerned with the guitar as their main means of expression vs vocal pop songwriting. Both are equally valid as music! One requires more dedication to your instrument.
@@ryanboshell6124 if it was not for cream no one would have known about crossroads
Who is playing the red guitar?
That's Will Johns, Eric Clapton's nephew. Will is a member of The Music of Cream along with Malcolm Bruce, Jack's son on bass and Kofi Baker, Ginger's son on drums.
@@akaWooders Oh wow
Ginger woulda said this was ... (insert your Ginger here ...)
