Quick tip for anyone looking for a magsafe for ThinkPhone, I was so disappointed there wasnt any magsafe case for this until I found there was one magnetic case for Motorola edge plus 2023, which is almost the exact same design and size of Thinkphone, cellphone fits a bit loose in the interior (top/bottom areas are very slightly short) but the exterior and width is just fine, case doesnt remove easily and all buttons line up nicely except the power button (is slightly off center) but after some time you get used to pressing it in a sweespot. This was a game changer for me to magnetically lock the phone to my car
Nothing irritates me more about cell phones is the fact you have a nice looking phone and have to slap a $5 piece of plastic on it to protect it from falls.
It has the Mil Spec drop rating for what it's worth. But real life experience, I've dropped it a few times with the cheap TPU case on and it's still holding up. I've also washed it in low pressure running water from a faucet to clean it. It's still holding up fine. I think because it's so light, drops don't have as much impact on it as a heavier phone.
I wish this someone made a bumper case like a rhinoshield case. It might not give the back camera protection but it would give the sides all around protection and you could enjoy the phonea natural back material
Currently using the Tudia dualshield, one minor thing is that it seems to disrupt the functionality of "quick launch" feature (double tap the back to initiate an action), so I guess it's working too well at protecting the phone from vibration? I have found that tapping on the camera bump does work to trigger it. I agree partially with the grip concerns in the video, the left (side with the red key) could use some additional texturing as it feels really smooth and slippery, the right side feels fine for me with the texturing and all the buttons. Edit: I guess I may have been tapping the wrong location, as the moto forum has mentioned, the sensor appears to be right between the camera bump and the red key. I retested, and the function does appear to work just as well with a case as without a case.
I just ordered a camera protector and went without a case for this phone. Ideally they would have a slim magsafe case but since thats not the case I'll just stick with a lens protector.
I have the itskins case and it is greatly protected on all 4 corners and the back camera but has one killer flaw. The case is not secure and doesnt stay on the phone. I cant tell you how many times i pull my phone out of my pocket to see one corner of the phone fully popped out of the case. If i were to drop the phone at that time it would be all over. I also have the tudia case and it comes close to being a perfect case if not the for front screen lip, Theres barely any lip to speak of. There is maybe a hairs worth of lip if you are accurate.
Latest update is Security Patch dated November 1, 2023 Google Play system update October 1, 2023 Still on Android 13. As far as future updates, nobody knows for sure except Moto/Lenovo.
So after dropping mine on tile, concrete, asphalt, etc. roughly 50 times the screen shattered and the phone is bent. So, its durable, but, a case is a wise investment.
does the case that comes with it protect the camera cover on the back? is it raised? you didn't mention that
yeah it does have a raised lip that's above the camera hump. check out supplemental video.

ONE OF THE BEST REVIEW VIDEOS ON UA-cam. THANKS BROTHER...BUT QUESTION: HOW RUGGED IS THE PHONE ITSELF?

you could play with the tap intensity in the settings too.
can you just cut out the button areas with a fine razor? Looks like they're already kind of ready for that

Isn't magsafe apple product
I've got the second one. Phone is good but the worst part is cases are very limited.

What is your screen glass protector, sir?
i bought the phone used and it was already on there. There's a large selection of them on Amazon or AliExpress.
Where did you order the screen protectors?
mine came on the phone I got off of Craigslist, but there is a good selection on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress...
@@gruntgeartech any options for camera protection?
@@gruntgeartechDo you receive updates for your phone? There are a lot of complaints that Moto doesn't support their phones.

@@proudbacteria1373 you don't need updates
I have the last one. Broke the original just pulling it off the phone lol. Phone has survived a few drops already
This phones entire purpose is it's tough you don't need a case.
do you have one ? is it tough enough ?
Though for $399 who cares if you rough it up I guess.
Its tough in the sense that it won't brake not that it won't scratch.

Where did you get that wallpaper?
