I got on as an open box/refurbish on Amazon a couple of weeks ago for $360. I absolutely love it! I think it runs just a good and, in some areas, better than my Pixel 8. Its battery definitely beats the Pixel 8. Instead of charging it nightly, I have been doing it every other day. I plan swapping it in on making it in with the Pixel as my daily driver. BTW, it was your original video on the Thinkphone that made take notice and your recent video on it's sale price that motivated me to buy one. No regrets! 😊

With the addition of my daughter, it's clear we need more space. I've had it for 4 months and it's hard to find fault. Very snappy and the toughest built phone I've ever seen. Updates have been like clockwork. The screen comes with flicker protection plus an extra dim setting that nobody talks about which makes is easy on the eyes. Fast charging is a game changer and I couldn't care less about wireless charging now.

Think phone is my 3rd Motorola phone. The other 2 lasted 4+ years. With the battery giving out in both cases. This phone is lighting fast! Maybe its the 5G . But it loads everything pretty much instantly. I was concerned about the Think phone not having a SD card slot. Like my previous one. However, even after downloading everything on the SD card I had. Including all the operating systems and apps i want. I used 41 GB of the 256 GB the phone has. So I double I'll ever run out of storage. T-Mobile/ Sprint is my carrier. On my way to my out of town weekend spot. I had no service part way with my other phones.This phone has service the entire way. Needless to say. Im pleased

I ordered the Thinkphone over a month ago. I loved how fast it was and how the fingerprint scanner worked flawlessly with a tempered glass protector on it. However, the camera is subpar. I tested it against my Note 20 Ultra and an S21 FE. There is no zoom on it so I just used 1X mode while taking photos of cars across the street. The level of detail captured is poor. I zoomed in the photos with my fingers to see if I could read the license plates. The Thinkphone produced soft images and I could not make out the numbers. The other two phones showed clear images while zoomed in. I returned the Thinkphone and pre-ordered the S24 Ultra with my Note as the trade in device. If Motorola upgrades the camera system, it could be a real bargain. Otherwise, it's a reluctant no for me.
@@PaulBelkin As far as I've determined in researching the specs, it doesn't have optical zoom. You can get 8X digital zoom by expanding the 1X setting but the results are poor. I zoomed up to the max it could go digitally but the resulting images were not sharp enough to read license plates at a distance.
Been switching between my S23 Ultra and this fon for the last 10 days and for $1000 less - this fon is gr8 deal. The ONLY difference is the antenna on the Moto is about 100 to 200 mbps slower than my S23 Ultra using T-Mobile 5G UC. Also the Moto is a tad slower on my home wifi 6 router. I have an app to get the AOD (Always On OMOLED) form Play Store - works gr8 - make sure when using it is on a very low setting. The fast charger is fantastic. For $428 after tax, how could you go wrong?
I just picked up one of these gorgeous phones today off of Amazon and I absolutely love it so far! Not only does it resemble the Thinkpad line but I can't help notice a little bit of a throwback to the OG Moto X, which was my favorite android based Motorola phone of all time!! This is going to make the perfect work phone due to its rugged but sleek design!
I totally agree. I have the Z Fold 5 and Pixel 7 pro. However, some of my favorite phones were the cheaper phones like my Moto Edge 2022 and Blu Bold N3.
I just hope they improve the speaker on the Edge + this year. The 2023 model was a near perfect phone. My only gripes was no bass at all on the speaker and bad night photos. It took great day photos.
I absolutely love this phone and keep going back to it over "better" phones. S22 ultra, Note 20 ultra, pixel 8, OnePlus 12r...all in my arsenal...still keep rolling back to this phone. Tech O has this one nailed!! Great job on doing this justice!

Just got mine today , Not many of the main carrier offer the ThinkPhone in Canada . For the first time I bought a phone on my own without a carrier contract . All I wish for Motorola to create an adapter to use the Moto Z3 Play goodies with the ThinkPhone . Like that projector or some of the boombox . Although the sound is very good and loud enough.
12r has a better chip on paper, but not really noticeable in real use. 12r doesn't support 4k60 on any other camera than the main lens. 12r functions better with water on the screen, but is technically way less water resistant (ip64 vs ip68, ip68 lets you dunk it in water, 64 is only resistant to splashes) 12r has longer support, faster charging, longer battery life and an IR blaster built in. It's also less durable.
Was looking to replace a Blackview BV9900 and came across this Motorola Thinkphone. Have to say this has to be the best phone for the $399 price! Has tons of power and size is perfect. Super quick charging, great screen at 144hz refresh is unheard of! Have to say, Motorola messed up big time by not promoting this phone a lot more! Its a great product. I think they went after the business market instead of the regular user. The only missing thing is memory expansion, with only the 256g model available, it might fill quickly. Been using it for over a week now and I'm sold!!!

I recently switched from the Pixel 7 to the S23 Ultra. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Pixel 7 except it was boring. Lack of customization and no Dynamic Amoled Screen. Isn't the ThinkPhone similar?
Not to be pessimistic but I wish moto would show the same love to its flagship devices the Motorola razor plus and the Motorola edge 2023 edge plus is on the January 1 security patch where the Motorola edge 2023 is still on November. Also, I feel if Motorola is going to compete with the Samsung in the United States market, especially on flipping phones, it needs to update to android 14 at least on the Motorola razor plus not there yet though hopefully we'll see this before the end of February and again I do love what Motorola has offered this past year but they're gonna be a little more competitive only my opinion.

The problem is that chinese brands make phones with close specs for $300 new ( without discount). Look for example at Poco X6. Though it has Snapdragon 7 gen 2 but in other aspects it is similar. It also doesn't have wireless charging but with 67W wired it is compensated. And it has a head-phone jack.

I've been looking to upgrade my device. I've looked everywhere for the best possible deal. Used market and new market. I think you've sold me on this one. Only thing that concerns me are the cameras, I have a 3 year old and I take a lot of pictures and videos of him, so id like something reliable, but also something that is more on the flagship side as far as performance and longevity.
It is a great phone. It can be a great primary phone, or a phenomenal work/secondary phone. OnePlus 12 got me this time. But i was eyeing this one too. It's between this or the OnePlus 12R for best bang for buck IMO. Depends on what you need.
I bought the phone when it was on sale at 549.99 and I thought I was winning. I guess I should have waited😂. Still a great phone at the price I got it. No issues,it actually gets updates better than regular Moto phones.
Hello, I currently own two Motorola phones but I just bought a Samsung A 25 5G. I don't like Motorolas update policy. The Thinkphone has the best with one OS update and 4 years security updates but it was released in January 2023, will end, January 2027. The Galaxy A 25, 5G, a cheaper phone will get 4 major OS updates and 5 years security updates. Released on 11th December 2023, end of life date will be December 2028. Cheaper Motorola phones have fewer years of security updates. I want a cheaper phone with better support so Samsung will be getting my business until Motorola steps up it's game.
Forget motorola honor 2nd generation silicon carbon battery used in the honor magic 6 and 6 pro will change the smartphones companies upside down and already got approval so by by lithium ion battery I'm glad I didn't upgrade to the s24 ultra

I've been looking to upgrade my device. I've looked everywhere for the best possible deal. Used market and new market. I think you've sold me on this one. Only thing that concerns me are the cameras, I have a 3 year old and I take a lot of pictures and videos of him, so id like something reliable, but also something that is more on the flagship side as far as performance and longevity.

It is a great phone. It can be a great primary phone, or a phenomenal work/secondary phone. OnePlus 12 got me this time. But i was eyeing this one too. It's between this or the OnePlus 12R for best bang for buck IMO. Depends on what you need.
The oneplus 12r will be another monster deal at 399 after the trade in any phone offer they are running

Hello, I currently own two Motorola phones but I just bought a Samsung A 25 5G. I don't like Motorolas update policy. The Thinkphone has the best with one OS update and 4 years security updates but it was released in January 2023, will end, January 2027. The Galaxy A 25, 5G, a cheaper phone will get 4 major OS updates and 5 years security updates. Released on 11th December 2023, end of life date will be December 2028. Cheaper Motorola phones have fewer years of security updates. I want a cheaper phone with better support so Samsung will be getting my business until Motorola steps up it's game.

I see the word "Think" all the time at IBM plant 1 in the village of Johnson City (Binghamton, ny) Mr Watson put that word everywhere, talk to any ex IBMer. I work in that are few times a month. It was a reminder to.... think. So bizarre. IBM sold computer division to Chinese Lenovo and then former US based Motorola (made famous by 1st car radio ever) also owned by Chinese computer company but now waring trademarks belonging to the big blue machine....
BTW 15,000 IBMers lost their jobs after Clinton fully opened up China in Binghamton alone. Not a single bit of IBM left in where they got started
