    I agree completely in your statement: "How you feel in your clothes is most important." It doesn't matter how anyone else sees you...it's how the outfit appeals to your personal sensibilities, no matter what others may say or think. Opening yourself up to advice and tips is a good quality, but at the end of the day, you have to be satisfied with you...

    I dislike my picture being taken because I often feel like the picture doesn’t match what I saw in the mirror that morning (especially in regard to how my clothes are fitting) I think this video makes a lot of sense and I’ll definitely be trying it! Hopefully some better photos in my future 🙂

    Always love your perspective! You are the best! I love clothes and shopping! Now that I am retired and not in need in work clothes I have pared down my wardrobe and have enjoyed making changes. However, I have stared wearing my good clothes for every day wear! It has been fun and I look more stylish! I have had a lot of compliments! So May people have commented about how how relaxed I look! I have not sacrificed my style, but have enhanced it. Thanks for your hints!

    Love this! I tried it off and on for a while a couple years ago, but this has inspired me to start again!
    A video request, if I may: comfortable footwear that looks chic too. I recently moved to a city and am walking so much every day (passed 20,000 steps three times last week, and even hit 30,000 one day) -- which is great, except that the shoes I *thought* were comfortable aren't cutting it any more.

    • @abadellp5
      @abadellp5 2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I think that a good idea might be wearing good sneakers (kind of like running shoes) maybe in a neutral color like black, AND have your chic shoes in your bag because it really looks like the walking it’s just too much for any chic footwear

    Your advice is so true. I remember when I started taking pictures of myself I realize that it was in things I love to wear and I have a feeling strong feelings about the pieces I was wearing. So what you said about making that connection about what you love to wear and how you feel in them and how it looks is so important. And you and sometimes you are given compliments on outfits that look good but don’t feel good . I wonder why that is. It has taken me a while to understand that sometimes an outfit can look great but not feel great. I have come to accept this and now it has helped me so much avoid wearing things that don’t make me feel good. It has also helped me hold my personal style.

    Could you do a video on your diet and workout routine? I'm trying to find a balance between being obsessed with my body image and not caring if I'm overweight. It's really hard to know exactly which diets and workouts to follow, when you hear so many different ideas on how to be healthy!🥺

    • @inspiredby624
      @inspiredby624 3 роки тому +8

      I don't think there is some "perfect" diet or exercise routine that works for everybody and copying one from a youtuber might not work for you and won't make you look like them because every body is different. You kinda just have to try and figure out what works for you. For the workout just try different types until you find something you enjoy (or at least something you don't hate lol) so you'll be motivated to keep it up. As for diet cutting down on processed food and sugar and adding more veggies and fruits is something that is healthy in general. For weight loss you also need to slightly reduce the calories you consume daily. Whether you do this through replacing specific foods with "lighter" alternatives, cutting out snacks, eating off smaller plates, intermittent fasting or a "drastic" diet change like keto or going vegan is really just down to what you can keep up long term while not feeling too restricted by it. There isn't some magic recipe, you have to figure out what works for your body and your lifestyle.

    I don't take pictures, but I do write what I am wearing daily in a style journal which includes how I feel about it, what I like and dislike, and also when I let something go or purchase something. I've been doing this for a year and I learn a lot from seeing what worked and what didn't. It also makes me accountable for what I bring into my wardrobe and what I let go.

    Arriving a bit late to this video but I just wanted to say I agree 100%!!! For the last two months I have been taking a daily pic of my Ootd using my monthly capsule. I did not do well with the closet purge that people here on UA-cam call Decluttering. But by creating small, monthly, capsules and taking a daily pic, the mindful use of my clothes is really taking off! If folks read this, do it! Also, I created a board on Pinterest for this sole purpose. So I upload my daily pic every morning, and I am creating an archive to study what I like, what I like but actually doesn't look well on me, and what I did not use from the capsule and why. SUPER RECOMMEND for all the mindful fashionistas here!!

    …🌈☀️💖also…if one can, in regards to photos, choose a good time as well as lighting situation. For example during the “golden hour” one’s photos will appear more yellow, harsh sun at noon will create high contrast/shadows, the most neutral ideal lighting is an overcast day during the late morning & afternoon bc it creates diffused even lighting. Light temperature has a huge effect on skin tone and wardrobe colors.

    I do the picture thing, along with adding all of my wardrobe and outfit in an app. I use XZ Closet, it's really easy, I just took a photo off all of my wardrobe,s and then the app removes the background so everything is totally categorized by type, frequency, material, color, and... and it's all automatic! it even suggests outfit or I can plan outfits ahead! it tells me what clothing item is used more or less, and it definitely helped me a lot while buying clothes, I can quickly have access to my whole wardrobe and see if I really needed the team, I have duplicates or will the color truly match! no I am really aware of my clothing, it's one of the best things I have ever done! highly recommended!

I think cranberry, burgundy, maroon, and all the shades between are the most complicated. At least for me. How do you recognize the color of deeper reds. I love those shades for winter but I have so much trouble recognizing which is which, I just turn my back and walk away.

    As always love your video. I was doing so well I’m not shopping so much and then with COVID 20lbs. Plus do to COVID even though I had to go in daily it became very casual. So I would wear a nice top with Jeans, etc.
    Now back to work again but I’m a new title I work and have to be able to do anything from bathe a dog to food service and meetings with families. Do I’m no longer such sitting at a desk.
    Anyways I don’t like how I feel or look. Mostly because of the weight gain and the fact my very nice things can’t be worn or don’t fit.
    So doing this project will hopefully encourage me to put together things I love.

    Hi, Audrey! I'm a big fan of yours - especially as a fellow petite person constantly endeavoring to find clothes that fit both my style and proportions. 🙂 I wanted to ask you about the thumbnails on videos like this. You have a "before"/"after" image as the thumbnail on several of your videos, and I've never understood them; they don't seem to be explained in the videos themselves. Also, as in the thumb with this video, oftentimes the outfit in the "before" photo looks perfectly wonderful to me, and it leaves me curious what about it you'd improve, or what it has to do with the subject matter of he video. Thanks for hearing me out - be well!

      maybe you could lay out your outfits on your bed or hang them on your closet door and photograph them like that instead? That way you could takes notes on the way the individual outfits made you feel and keep track of what you like to wear at least :)

    Ok, this is a completely different topic. I need denim advice, please. I'm a big woman 5'7" & 140lbs. I wear size 10 trousers but size 12 tops because I have large breast. I've tried on boyfriend jeans & they look sloppy on me. Skinny jeans aren't trending. I need a new pair of denim & I don't know what to get. Which is most stylish now? Straight leg, boot cut, or wide leg? I'm thinking a dark indigo wash or black based on current magazines. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you very much. 🙂 also, I only take OOTD pics when it's a special event. never occurred to me to take one daily, I'll give it a try. 🙂

      I am larger than you, and probably older than you, too, which adds another dimension of "difficulty", so I hope you don't mind if I chime in to share my experience with denim cuts. First, don't get hung up on trends! Wear what makes you feel confident. If you like skinny jeans, wear them! I wear those, especially with knee-high boots, and will not stop no matter what the magazines and Insta says. I do make sure the rest of the outfit, as well as my hair and makeup, look current so I don't look like I'm out of touch. I also favor straight cuts and silhouettes with a slight boot cut (and heeled, pointy toe shoes) to balance both the curve of my hip and my voluptuous upper half. With those, I either wear something fitted on top, or a looser blouse with a cropped jacket that nips in at the waist in order to balance the volume of the jeans and fool the eye to think I have longer legs and a smaller midsection. Like you, I feel sloppy in boyfriend jeans, so I avoid them. And you're probably right in seeking darker washes, as they read "timeless" and "seasonless". Just keep trying brands, cuts, weights, and lengths...and don't give too much importance to things that are fleeting. How you feel in your clothes is way more important than what an influencer or commercial enterprise want us to covet!

      Calling yourself a "big woman" at 5'7 and 140# shows your perspective is skewed.

      Well firstly, you’re not a large woman. So I have been trying different loose and straight denim silhouettes like crazy this year. What I’ve come to realize is that I only like the fit of skinnies. But not too tight skinnies. But I want to also have some looser fits as those are more current. I still wear my skinny jeans though. So to get that current looser fit, I sized up one and two sizes to make the fit a bit looser so they look more like a straight leg jean, but the cut is that of a skinny, which fits my body the best. I went to the gap for this. Tried on a bunch and ordered a bunch online. Also love AG skinny jeans. Their ex boyfriend jean is great also but run really loose so get your normal size or even a size down in these. Good luck!
