Poor Creggle! But so entertaining. Honestly I really didn’t catch the rules properly, but it was still fun to watch. Trott didn’t seem like he had any idea what was happening with the enemy (at least he didn’t draw much) but Craig seemed to just slowly lose his mind lol

sirBrouwer yeah I watched that afterwards (wrong order it turned out). Still not sure why he erased so much of what he was drawing. Surely it’s best to keep it all? But then I’ve never played it.
Shirotora I think it's because they were surfacing and that resets you so you are able to retrace your path as I understand it.
I think it depends. If you think you have a map that can't fit with reliable information then it may be you heard something wrong. In that case it would be the right thing to do. And Pixels that is true but I think that was much longer ago than what trott had. He probably erased it again. I feel like I heard him saying they were still raised when they weren't for some reason. I may be wrong on that.
This game does surprisingly well for videomaking, found it a very enjoyable watch.
Also looks like it turned out very well in the editing

All the extra camera's made it a really enjoyable watch, seeing what they were writing helped clear up confusion.

It's probably against the rules but I doubt Hulmes was really thinking all that much. Probably just wanted to finish it, really intense for us to watch, even more so for them to play I imagine.

That is true, it wouldn't have mattered if he had gone west though, there was nothing blocking it. Although I guess it would have been important if they hadn't destroyed hat films' sub straight after.
I think he might've just been hurrying a bit; smiffy did also make a couple of mistakes in relation to his Sonar which kinda fucked up a few things (on Hulmes' channel)

Oi! Noticed that the last three moves called by the captain on the left team was 'West' 'West' 'West' but he drew 3x East. Common mistake amongst captains to mingle those 2 up...
I loved watching the facial reactions from Craig, he looked an unholy combination of scared, nervous and confused!
Hat Films was playing as 2 teams. Ross/Smith and Trott. R/S were not even trying to listen to Trott the whole time.

KrispyKracker51 the more obstacles on the map there are the much easier it is for the sonar to find them because they can't go through islands.
The later maps have maybe 1 or 2 islands and the last one has no islands so it is impossible to tell where they are based on landmarks.

The system of tracking has quite a bit of logic in it, the sort of logic I really don't expect these scrubs to get, but the sort that gives this game a lot of depth none the less. The tracker is by far the hardest job.
Good day Hat films! I am part of the portion of your audience who only tunes in for the IRL content. I am from New Zealand and love your vlogs, challenges, 'hat gear' and hat chat and believe you have an amazing, special and well balanced dynamic not only when playing games but especially in real life. The other day I chose to listen to your latest GTA video as if it were a podcast because the title suggested you were going to talk about some really interesting stuff (which you did and it was great). I basically am writing this to give you some insight into one type of viewer you have. I have never commented on your videos before although I do often read the comments because you have a very kind, funny, supportive and non-trolly viewer base. I very much expected your IRL videos to have more views than your other content but that doesn't seem to be the case so I would understand why you wouldn't want to integrate a whole lot more IRL stuff into your content but I can do my best to pitch this idea and suggest it might help you tap into a broader viewer base with more people like myself who are not so into gaming but more into you guys yourselves and your humour and dynamics (and good looks). And, if you actually read this, thanks for listening!
A lot of people who love their IRL stuff don't realize it but they edit that all themselves, there's a **lot** of work that goes into it, most of their vlogs, except the car ones, are mooooonths old by the time they actually get them out. They're still awesome to see and some of my favorite content on the channel, though I started watching back in the minecraft days... Jesus that was awhile ago. At which point they only did gaming which is what I use youtube for mostly. It's great to hear from someone who enjoys that content and even if it doesn't make them wanna do more, as they're not the kind of people to shoehorn craziness into their lives just to create content, it will likely encourage them to **keep** doing them, which is just as important.
Force2Reckon, Not to be overly argumentative, but they don't edit all their IRL stuff themselves. They said in their Canada vlogs that Craig would be editing them as usual.
I mean, that's not really argumentative, that's just telling me information I missed or forgot about in the vlog, thanks!
Love this - quick suggestion though. Maybe having a graphic on screen showing where the subs are? Hard to keep track of otherwise

This game looks like loads of fun!
One thing I think they should add is a buzzer or sound that gets everyone's attention so somebody doesn't ahve to try to yell over the rest STOP. Instead have a unique sound button so everyone knows to stop. Still looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to get it though!

Im not really a board game person. I normally find them quite tedious however this was fun i would deffo watch more.
Jennifer Agar have you tried any modern designed board games? Like Pandemic or One Night Ultimate Werewolf?
A lot of the classic games like Monopoly and Risk are slow and dull by comparison.

I was confused as hell, but LOVED it!
personally not something i enjoyed watching
why not make this a computer game, with the game controlling only the moves, mines, damage etc? Then you could have the players free to just draw the other sides moves (texta on transparency where it looks like a game of boxes) and discuss plans etc. You could require players to keep track of damage manually, whilst the engine could still keep track of it - then if you lose track of damage yourself, it just tells you, bang you are sunk. So it would be your job to track damage for decision making, but the computer's job to determine it from the win/loss point of view. Surely this is better, and you could still sell the box, because the computer is basically just tracking the underlying state of play.
That could work.
But part of the appeal is the cooperation with the people around you rather than over VoIP.

I think the reason Hulmes said 'west' and went east at the end was because he knew which direction the Hats were in but because Tom said 'west' the word got stuck in Hulmes' head. Would have messed trott up if it carried on but they attacked fast so not much the Hats could do
