    Just use Green Color in Shadow Catcher> and keyout in After Effects Simple> shadows Preserved without any issue

    Hi Aharon, I thoroughly enjoyed the workflow and knowledge you dropped here. I've been trying to find an answer and wondering if you are able to help me with something. Do you know of any way to render separate lighting passes in UE5, which can then be added back together in post to rebuild the beauty? In C4D this can be accomplished with light groups. I'm looking for a similar function in UE5 but haven't been able to find any info about how to do this. Appreciate your insight!

    We need legacy edge blur (key correct v 1.3.5) for new machintosh system . We cant use it until AE 24 with mac os x

    Media plate frame rate is not matching AE cineware Animation Sequence> the solids are slipping and it does not extend by 1 frame at end of animation sequence as you said> instead it exceeds by inappropriate number e.g. in case of 29.97 frames of video footage> how match media plate with Cineware animation sequence of AE> 5 days i m figuring out> plz help> i see there is roll up frames in media plate option> also instead of using media plate > we can use Plane and add video as material to it> plz tell which one will solve the issue

      I had the same happen. make sure you don't drop in the media plate into the environment. ensure to double click it only. also your in control of the camera, try not zoom in or move from its original position. once your aligned the plate looks small and far away. if it is still far away go to scale setting in the media plate and lock the scales and adjust them to the screen. let me know if that works for you!

    no need for exr/cryptomatte, you can still use png just click on 'deferred rendering' and tick the 'accumulator includes alpha' checkbox, and set your antialiasing to whatever quality you want. Exr is better quality but it also is bigger file size so that's a judgement call.

      Thanks. That's helpful! I will check that out. But of course as you can see from the second half of the tutorial, Cryptomattes are super important if you want to treat your elements differently in compositing.

      I talk about layers in the tutorial, and I also explained why they don’t work in the case of shadow mattes.

    To install Cineware, I need to install C4D 25. I don't have a Maxon subscription and don't really want to-what do I do?

      Oh no! That’s unexpected. A couple of things I can think of… AE comes with C4D light. Are you up-to-date in AE? Also, worst case try installing trial of C4D.

      Are you getting a message that you need to have it installed or are you just seeing that on the installation notes? If it’s just the installation notes, don’t worry about it.

    In CinewareForUnreal plug-in 5.4, importing dynamic resources in C4D format crashes too easily. . This will not be the case in 5.3. . .

    Newb here, but can’t this all be done in after effects? Why even go into unreal?

      The short answer is that unreal has far more capabilities than after effects 3D (for example, there’s no workflow for motion capture) and also has a very robust community and marketplace of assets.
      Also, it’s way faster.
