It's not enough to make the playoffs anymore tbh. Now, I'm rooting for a DIVISION TITLE some time during the Harbaugh regime. Man would it be great to end KC's streak. At the very worst, I'd at least want a playoff win, even as a Wildcard team
I wouldn't be surprised. I don't hear that from the "expert" analysts. They're talking about 8-9 wins. I think Joe Alt help Justin Herbert stay healthy and more productive. I can't see less than1o W's
@@timtessman3107 - perhaps the analysts are being objective, whereas some Chargers fans may not have learned from the past few seasons to temper one’s expectations & not overrate their roster like so many did. Veach had another good draft & they’re still the team to beat until proven otherwise!
Probably the two biggest pickups are little talked about in Will dissley and Hayden Hurst. Two guys who fit excactly what the chargers need, and we didn't have to use a draft pick to get them and also signed them for a good price. I think our wide recivers are gonna be alot better than people think even though they are young, and having quality tight ends and running backs will actually help the recievers because the opponents defense will have to many things coming at them, allowing them to create seperation and easier throwing windows.
I've a really solid feeling about his year, loved fa and the draft, but vow of silence this year until we get knocked. I've been loud and hype before and it's hurt me. My little superstitious contribution to this year. I am going to have to train myself to not bolt up on big plays tho :( Complete silence during games. Soo glad you and director are my mics for this year ⚡️⚡️⚡️
I think that one of the most important things working in our favor, is the huge upgrade at head coach. I was a Staley fan longer than most, but I didn’t understand the difference in culture the team would be exposed to with Harbaugh as the Head Coach. He has been there-done that, and with all of the success he has had everywhere he has gone, the level of confidence the players have will make a huge difference. The other thing that impresses me, is the commitment to physicality he brings to the team. It begins and ends in the trenches, and with the addition of Alt, and the intention to impose our will on the other team, the running game is going to strong and effective. If our opponents try and stop the run by putting more players in the box, Herbert will be able to use play-action and rpo to open up the field and will help the receivers get open. How many times last year did we have a lead in the 4th quarter, and we failed to get 2 or 3 first downs to seal the victory? We wound up having to punt, and the opposing team would march right down the field and kick the winning field goal or get the winning touchdown. I think with a new scheme and a lot of new players, it’s going to be hard to know how long it’s going to take for the team to play well together, and find their identity, but if they can get their running game working at the beginning of the season, and play solid defense, it will give us time to develop the chemistry Herbert will need with the receivers, tight ends, and running backs to be a balanced offense which will be very hard to stop. If anyone can turn a 5-12 team into a 11-6 team in a short period of time, it will be Harbaugh. There are still quite a few very good players on the roster from the Telesco era, and if the free agents and the newly drafted players can contribute at a high level right from the start, it’s very possible for the Chargers to exceed expectations! After all, this was not a total rebuild like some other teams had to go through. Another thing to keep in mind.. The Chargers have a last place schedule, and they won’t have to play as many powerful teams as they had to play last season. Even though it’s hard to project what their record will be given all the questions there are going into the season, I still believe they could go 9-8 or better this season for all of the reasons I’ve listed above.. GO Chargers! Bolt Up ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Was not to get rid of star player. Don't forget they are getting the locker room right. Keep cap money and spend wisely. Their doing it right. They are building for years, not 1 season
I am confident in Jim and Co to build Justin Herbert's confidence and get him to not play Superman every play. Getting rid of Williams and KA13 sucks, but us older fans remember Rivers was throwing to WRs like Danario, Ajirotutu, Vincent Brown, Stevie Williams, and others and actually did well. Herbert will be great; his rookie season was amazing and now he will have an intelligent coaching staff to put the young team in good positions to win so 12-5 is the record I see for the team at worst 10-7 if injuries hurt us. If we can come close to the good old Marty days in terms of running the ball and playing Defense with the intent to hit, then man this team will be fun to watch
I remember Rivers turning Tyrell Williams into a a WR that put up respectable numbers. He left the Chargers and was never heard from again. In hindsight, Hunter henry should've stayed as well. The Patriots offense is a mess, and I'm pretty sure Hunter's numbers would look better had Herbert been throwing to him these last few years. He would've fetched a bigger contract extension than the one he just signed in March
This season is us figuring out everything so 9-10 wins this season would be great. Next season is when expectations are gonna be higher than this season
You mentioned Keenan Allen could have stayed if there is still money in cap space. Probably not. To get Mack and Bosa to restructure their salary and take a cut, there was probable a consideration that everyone has to. So if you do not restructure Allen, then how does that leave Mack and Bosa that took cuts. Then they are unhappy and want their full salary back. Now you gained one that did not work with chargers to build a playoff team, and lose two happy players that did work with Chargers to build a Superbowl team. TEAM.
I am going to believe we make the playoffs. Maybe even the divisional round or higher in the first year until proven otherwise. I just am positive about it if things don't work out the first year. So be it, but i'm still aiming for at least twelve wins and one playoff win
You can rollover the cap to next year if we dont use it. We already have 100k in cap space next year⚡️This year was about cleaning up Telesco/Staley mess. Hortiz and CO did an amazing job so far. Next year bigger signings in FA!
I like this team. It is deep. That talent will allow the coaches to do all kinds of things like keeping players fresh. I believe the running game will fall into place. I like the reciever room as well. I am on record saying this team with the coaching staff will win a minimum of 11 games. This team will not have the coaching staff loose game. Harbaugh is a head coach. He also know heart.
Chargers should go after one of Washington’s DTs: Allen or Payne. We still don’t have a great presence in the middle of that defense and this move should give us solidity and time to develop a younger talent.
I think this is going to be a good team. Still I think the defense is going to have a learning curve and might be easily exploited. It depends on player development. LBs are either inexperienced or slower (Perryman). The DBs are also pretty fresh to the NFL. I think teams will look to exploit our inexperience at the last two levels. Once it gets going this team will be crazy good. Tempering expectations.
I said i would never buy in during the offseason after last year but the identity is clear for this team. Physical, punch you in the mouth football. Harbaugh has won everywhere in quick, he knows who to surround himself with and how to build a culture. Chargers +300 to win the division I love that all day long
People will call it over confidence but I will not be surprised if this is a 11-12 win team. Coaching is everything look at players like Nico Collins who finally broke out with good QB play and a solid coach. Our WR room will be just fine and better than people will think given the QB we have. The FA signings are all great scheme fits and everything is shaping up to be a successful season. The morale is at an all time high and players want to be here.
No easy teams in the NFL.We play AFC North which has four playoff teams, two more against Superbowl champs, ATL and Tampa will be tough, and we all know beating LV and Denver twice is hard to do regardless of teams.Throw in Tennessee and New Orleans, both physical teams and this is not an "easy" schedule
If the o-line ends up being better that’s all we needed, herbie has done great with mid receivers but he never has enough time because of the oline getting sacked 2-3 times most games
The 49ers glory a couple decades ago fed off of a horrible division. Winning brings winning. The “easy” season (no real such thing in the NFL), is an advantage for mindset, establishing culture, and trust in the coaching staff. Not sure how the Chargers went from a superbowl contending roster to a bunch of scrubs in one year according to the “experts”. They have gotten better EVERYWHERE on this roster and coaching/injuries were blamed for the failure of last year. 11 wins is a reasonable expectation with Harbaugh coaching this team, maybe more. I would take 11 wins and a playoff win for year one and it is possible with what is happening in Boltdom. At least we are not being the NFL definition of insanity by doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result. OH. And don’t think Harbaugh isn’t going to use the “primetime” diss to feed his “us against the world” mantra.
I still think that we should sign either one or both of these guys. 1st I think we should sign Simmons from Denver. He's been a PITA for our WR'S every time we play them. 2nd I think we should get Gilmore from the Cowgirls. I know he's 31 and all. But when Diggs went down last yr he stepped up Big time for them. It was like they didn't skip a beat in their secondary. Also with all of the 1 yr deals we've been signing it darn sure wouldn't hurt us. CN you imagine what our secondary ( I'm calling it that because they're trying to get the DB'S, S to play both) would look like with those 2 plus James, Alohi, Hart etc!!?? I think we'd have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. What do you guys think?
we have no center and no cornerbacks, and no proven receivers. we have unspent cap space that couldve kept keenan here. no one is talking about these glaring holes of course. I hope the rising tide in our coaching raises all ships... cuz if not, it's going to be a long season. our reciever room is bare? how are we going to deal with any quality qb and wr combo on any playoff caliber team? put the pressure on herbert to keep up and max grind his valuable career gears? our cornerback room is the biggest emergency. i believe in josh and ladd.
I love Allen and Williams they both made fantastic catches but I think they want younger W.R. they don't break as easy as older players. I will miss the both of them.
It's the best job Harbaugh has ever had to start because of the Spanos family and yes some of the pieces in place that include Herbert. Give much of the credit to Herbert? He hadn't even seen him when he made rhis statement. Give pretty much all of the credit to the Chargers organization and the loose reigns they have provided Harbaugh, with his staff. On top of that being in LA (weather, big market), SOFI, the new practice facility coming with all his desires. Put him with Herbert in a crap situation i am sure he would have never made that comment. Or even took the job.
Bro 16-1 LFG! We only lose to the chiefs on Sunday night at arrowhead in a thriller! Maybe OT and likely due to some horseshit calls from the refs. But everybody is gonna get the business this year. He is going to bring an energy unknown to mankind! lol it will rub off on the team. I think the vibe will be more hyped than ever. Harbaugh bout to supercharge all these players. @dontnonowuno9953 this is stupid easy. Defense improvements should be hughe. Remember herbert is like 25-4 in games where the defense held the opponent to 28 points or less. Last year we went 0-7 in games decided by 3 points or less. Beteween coaching, added passer protection, defense upgrades, and the easy schedule we could win the afc west
@@timm5970 I agree with everything you said right there, except the easy part .This isn't the NBA or MLB where you can buy a good team, the NFL actually has talent everywhere and a real salary cap.The top picks go to the worst teams and that matters over time.Losing teams usually just missing a game changer at QB,and legit OC/DC.Look at Houston last year. Staley was over his skis and didn't have the experience to adjust.Coached scared on defense in big spots and got credit for being "aggressive" because some analytics on fourth down decisions. Also ...its the Chargers..😂
It will not be a successful season, unless the Chargers win the division. Making it to the playoffs as a wildcard with the Chiefs still in the driver seat will mean absolutely nothing.

Also ...its the Chargers..😂
dare i say one of the easier schedules in the league 👀
Just my opinion , but I’m getting vibes that money might be lingering because they are gonna pay slater big money …
If he took Alex Smith to the playoffs his first year. There’s no reason he can’t do it with Herbert
I just want the chargers to beat the chiefs every game, idc about a ring.
It will not be a successful season, unless the Chargers win the division. Making it to the playoffs as a wildcard with the Chiefs still in the driver seat will mean absolutely nothing.
12-5
Weeks 10 thru 14. All could be losses. I hope not but they are picked to lose all 4.
Let’s get Justin Herbert his first play off win this year ⚡️⚡️🫡
Nope the chargers are trash of a team they won’t go anywhere
