Jerry needs to take his son to the legendary hill and teach him how to train like he did Jerry’s work ethic was second to none talent plus work ethic equals greatness
I'm tentatively hopeful Brenden can make the leap and fix his consistency issues with my Chargers. If he can, he might be amazing. He runs angry and will really fit the ethos of a Harbaugh team. I'm cautiously optimistic he can become a WR2.
My Chargers definitely need WR help but he’s not gonna usurp Palmer, Ladd, QJ etc. I doubt it. QJ stunk last year but odds are he’ll bounce back. Gonna be interesting.
USC alum here. Seeing him fall was pretty baffling. He was never going to be a number 1 but this guy is above average at everything. He will be a 650-800 yard/6-9 TD a year type of guy. A real problem if he’s you’re 3rd or 4th best receiver.
I honestly hope he pulls a Randy Moss and plays with a huge chip on his shoulder, while completely cooking every single team that passed up on him! 🔥🔥🔥😂
@SeanTheDon-vj4kw Randy Moss was considered an elite talent and a freak of an athlete. He fell because of character issues. Rice fell because he doesn't compare well to other elite WRs. I hope he proves them wrong but I just don't see it.
@@diggingmystyle Still, I would've thought he'd be AT LEAST a 4th or 5th rounder, not a 7th! And despite the fact that Moss fell as far as he did, he STILL managed to get drafted in the 1st round! I'm rooting for Brenden to secure a roster spot on the Chargers. Living in the massive shadow of his dad's legacy has got to be rough, but this might lend itself to a great mentality to push him into the pros. Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard, Bolt Up!
My how much faster today's players are then even in the 2000s. 11 seconds in the 100 yard dash is FAST AS HECK, but now you need to be below 11 seconds to be considered fast? How far we have come in training
I mean...correct me if I am wrong. But Jerry Rice when he got drafted. It was not because of his speed. It was his hands and route runing ability. Yes he had any amazing work ethic to. But from what I recall reading was that he only got on people's rader casue do to his crazy numbers he was puting up at Mississippi vally state...which I think was a d2 or d3 school. Not every hall a fame son does great in football. But i would love to know if his dad teaches him to catch a football better by through bricks at him lol 😂.
"Would he wear his dad's number?" Nope ... and not just because he doesn't want to live off of his dad's success or live in his shadow, but because #80 was officially retired last year in the Chargers Ring of Honor! (was worn by Chargers HoF TE, Kellen Winslow Sr.) ⚡🏈
I think Cornelius Johnson will be as or more successful. Big tall receiver, Faster than Rice. Great on contested balls. Great special teams player. Two TDs and 158 yards in a game against OSU. Michigan just didnt throw the ball a lot.
He was a step back at least 1 year because CO coach decided he didn't like him. Sitting on the bench sure doesn't produce, but have no idea what his work ethic is and how hard he trains to get better. I sure can't see him being worse than Quentin Johnson!
Brandon Rice's fall as far as he did is really strange. Now granted I didn't think his production warranted a number two round pick but no 3rd 4th 5th maybe. He is not a steal because you get him in the 6th or 7th round he's a steal because I don't think he's a finished wide receiver I think he's a guy that will continue to work and will get better unlike many of the people taking earlier who are set in how they are as a player
If you were trying to get out from under your dad's shadow, would you want to go to his team? He'd fit in well with the 49ers, but I wouldn't be surprised if he quietly told them he would prefer to make his name elsewhere. Gore Jr., though? Would have been fun.
You're part of a VERY small group of people saying things like this about Rice. Mostly because we all know he's a bust before he even steps on the field. How do we know? We don't know 100% but we know not everyone can be their dad. He ain't his dad or even a number 3 option in the NFL.
HE WILL BE A STAR! HIS DNA, COACH'S SON(HIS STEP-DAD WAS HIS HEAD COACH AND IT SEEMS COACH'S SONS ALWAYS HAVE A STEP AHEAD WITH FILM, ETC PLUS ADD JERRY'S COACHING ON TOP OF THAT, AND NOW..HE WILL GET ONE OF THE BEST HEAD COACHES/TEACHERS OUT THERE WITH HARBOROUGH! I BET THAT BOTH HIM AND LADD COMPETE FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR !!
He isn't as good as MHJ, and Caleb to Rome is probably about to become the most productive QB/WR duo out of this class. I think Rice is going to quietly be a 1k receiver by the prime of his career, and I don't know that he'd have it any other way.
Michael Jackson's children are great singers, too😮 seriously though; we will root for this kid. After his first seven TD's he'll only be 200 behind his old man😮
"he became awesome, with an absolutely insane stat line of 12 TD and 700 yards" come on bro these are terrible stats lol, and it was his best, all the other years he was a nothiing burger. Literally almost didnt get drafted cause every team that prospected him considered him undraftable. Even 4th round is way to early for him. Terrible take.
There's no such thing as a steal in the draft and the term is just goofy. Every player went where the market thought they deserved to go, and I say that as a USC grad who expected Brenden to go higher than he did.
@@briane596able That's not a steal. A steal is getting something cheaper than what the market currently dictates. Every single team has a chance to select a player, so if you last until the 7th round then that's what your value was deemed to be. And even according to your definition, you can't deem someone a steal before they've played a down of football, let alone 4-5 years down the road.

Frank gore jr
Terique Owens
Tahj Washington .... Trojans' best receiver dropped even below teammate Brenden Rice in the draft.
Yeah, I was watching this then it got all quiet. Lol All good dude. Appreciate you making content for me to watch. Keep it up!
Brett Smith. HE never got a chance. How about Americans that went to the CFL and had great careers? Why did the USA scouts miss them?
This guy is definitely a steal and not due to nepotism. This is guy will be a NFL star.
No he won't.

Seriously they don’t think about when he’s in motion his longer strides will be better. They just think off the line speed.
