- French Pianist Alexandre Tharaud is one of the few musicians with a strong interest in film (in 2012, he performed the soundtrack to "Amour" by Oscar-winning director Michael Haneke). For this visually stunning film by pianist and director Stéphane Aubé, Tharaud performs a version of Bach’s legendary "Goldberg Variations" in an intimate, beautifully photographed setting - constantly keeping viewers on their toes.

Las variaciones Goldberg todos las conocemos; lo que es formidadable son las tomas de los martillos, una tarea con mucha inteligencia y buen gusto, es algo parecido como meterse en el alma de Bach!!!!!!!!! Gracias.-

Soberbio Tharaud, diferente a Glenn Gould pero también con una veta creativa excepcional. Lo que hace con Bach es sublime.
Tal vez el más sublime momento de las variaciones Goldberg es la transición del Aria a la primera variación.
Hay muchas maneras en las que los diferentes pianistas atacan este momento. Aquí es extraordinario, se le salta a uno el corazón

I like the music but I don't feel the camera work is doing well. It seems that synchronisation is not perfect, and it's normal because the movie is composed with different cuts. I would have prefer an angle per movement.
