- 20 Things I Love About My Greyhounds
Anyone who knows me knows I'm crazy about greyhounds. We adopted our first ex-racer (Chesta) almost three years ago and in that time my love affair with the breed has grown and grown. So much so that three weeks ago we adopted our second greyhound - Galaxy (aka Thrilling Galaxy). I feature my "fur babies" a lot in my videos and always get loads of comments from you guys so decided to share 20 Things I Love About My Greyhounds to celebrate April being Adopt a Greyhound Month. Now if you ask me every month should be adopt a greyhound month because these gorgeous dogs not only make the best family pets but they have a real knack of working their way into your hearts really quickly. So if you have any questions about greyhounds please feel free to ask them in the comments below. I'll be sure to answer them all. If you are interested in joining the cult of the greyhound you can find out more here:

Rumor has it that Chester actually dug the Grand Canyon. In five minutes.
LOL :)
I have had my boy for almost 5 years, and I have started to investigate his heritage. He never raced, but by knowing his DOB and his parents, I have found out so much about him and his family tree. This is one of the benefits of owning a greyhound. If they or their parents ever raced, you can find them in the greyhound records and learn so much. I have learned that his mothers progeny have won $3455 in prize money while his fathers progeny have earned over $16.5 Million. My boy takes after his...mother!
David Edwards damn can’t tell if it’s a insult or a joke
It's weird, because we're on our 8th hound (in over 30 yrs) and whereas I recognise many of the traits you describe, some of the others are alien. Yup, watching them run is brilliant - I *love* watching them run free. It's so beautiful! But if you're in the UK, and maybe elsewhere (check your country's laws), unless you are in an enclosed field/arena, if they have as much as trained to race _once_ (doesn't have to have been a racer), you legally *must* muzzle them if they're off the lead. If you use a racing muzzle, it's so light they barely notice it.
Only our latest digs. None of the others ever did. Unfortunately, he digs in the living room, pulls up the carpet and tries to get into the concrete. As fast as your beautiful boy goes through sand! He's a bit "special"... He's also the only one who has ever played with toys. The others have had teddies which they would cuddle and/or use as a pillow, but this one has a stack of toys he loves playing with (he's only 4. Greys are officially puppies until their 3rd birthday on Sept 1st - that's the official greyhound birthday date in racing land!)
The world's fastest couch potatoes can out-sleep a cat. An old cat. An old ill cat. Actually, if you like cats, you'll like hounds, they are essentially cats in a dog suit.
Water? Very much an individual thing. Our latest boy is fine in the rain, loves it in fact, but won't put his feet in anything deeper than a puddle. The others put up with it, though some refused to leave the house in the rain (and you usually have to show hounds that it's raining out the back as well as out the front or they won't believe you). One swam across a canal once. The sheep in the field opposite were clearly untidy because she herded them all into one corner then returned to her dad who had to go in after her. The farmer would have been within his rights to shoot her, but she didn't so much as bark or sniff them, let alone bite, but tidied them up. Boy, did she get into trouble or what?!
Ice cream? Hell yeah! And cheese. Bacon. Toast with Marmite (Vegemite at a push 😜). Chocolate - no, they're not allowed it but I'll guarantee that given the slightest chance, that choc you bought to treat yourself? It's in the dog's stomach if you blink. Some hounds have cast-iron constitutions, others are gluten and/or lactose intolerant. Our first boy *loved* curry. Our latest is gluten intolerant...
Agreed, their coats don't smell, not even when wet (at least not that horrible wet dog smell, and they dry really quickly), but feed them and you will know it! Our 2nd girl used to walk into whatever room we were in, would look around, fart, and walk back out! They are absolutely hilarious dogs. We have spent over 3 decades laughing ourselves stupid at their antics.
They're very much individuals when it comes to personality. They can be sneakily intelligent but also dumb as a brick. I could write a book of the daft things they've done.
Our first ever dog (came with hub. Kind of a love me, love my dog thing. I did!) was absolutely terrified of small dogs and cats. I won't go into details, the embarrassment at the time was enough. Our current one will make friends with absolutely anyone. If a hound's been in racing kennels all its life before you get it, chances are it will never have met another dog breed. They think that humans and greys are weird looking members of the same species (like I said, not renowned for their intellect!) If they do meet up with another dog who is calm, they will make friends really easily as a rule, but you may need to take socializing one step at a time. You may get the world's easiest dog who'll be friends with everyone and everything, but you need to be prepared to be patient.
And house-training can take a while. They've lived in kennels all their lives and are no longer puppies, but it *is* possible with patience and treats. Some are naturally clean.
I had 4 kids under the age of 5½ and 3 hounds in a small bungalow: two came directly from the owners, one a rescue job you'd cry over if I told his whole story. He became my baby's protector and I'd often find them curled up together when she was old enough to slip my sight for a few minutes. She'd use him as a pillow and he wouldn't so much as twitch. I never once had a moment's worry about the dogs being around the kids (of course, I never left a baby alone with any dog! Just... No! Nothing to do with their breed, either. *No* dog should be left alone with a newborn.) I'm also convinced that growing up rescuing hounds (I used to foster them briefly whilst finding homes) helped my kids turn out as adults I'm incredibly proud of.
99% of hounds are very quiet? I'd agree. My first girl was so quiet we thought she was mute. Then one day, about 6 months in (v happy ones, she loved being with us) she suddenly barked! Just the once. Frightened the life out of us 🤣 She was a brindle - they got the brain cell. However, our latest boy has, instead of the typical "funny five minutes" most dogs have where they run around in circles like wind-up tops, a "five minute shout". No, we don't know why. He just stands and shouts at... _something?_ Not a clue what. He is by far the thickest mutt we've ever had but he's also v clean, straight from the kennel, and wants to be everybody's bestest friend in the whoooooole world! He is an absolute darling.
Hounds do have their own sounds though, a cat-like "eeeuuuw" which means they want something (food, attention, etc) or they're starting to get excited. When they're excited they woofle. It's not quite a woof and still has a bit of the whine at times. They're weird!
Trying to think of anything else to add, but I think you covered most of it. Though they do come with a warning. One greyhound rarely stays single. And it becomes an addiction. After our first boy was gone, we didn't even consider getting a different breed when we were ready for another (still had two girls though). Even after short periods without a hound at all, when we decided it was dog time again, we were straight on the local greyhound rehoming charity's site.
We've never once regretted getting our massive, dozy, farting snuggle bums. Thoroughly recommend looking into getting one. Remember that they're sprinters, not marathon runners, so 3x20 minute walks a day will keep them really fit. Don't overdo it, they can get stress fractures. Have fun!k
He looks so happy having fun on the beach.
Yes it's his favourite place :)
Lovely video! They are the most wonderful companions that you could wish for! My only regret is that i was 40 years old before I fell in love ! Their affection is timeless, their devotion is ageless, their love is forever. ❤❤❤❤
I couldn't agree more - they really are incredible animals :)
If you are able to adopt one and love dogs, Do it, you will never regret it.Cheers.
I normally hate dogs, but greyhounds are special.
I love greyhounds too. By far my favourite dog breed. I have always preferred dogs who are calm and gentle. Greyhounds are calm and gentle, so they would be my best friend.
I had mine (called forza) for 17 years. I reconize every inch of this video
Awww that's cool :)
17 years is ANCIENT for a greyhound, thats amazing
17 years is wonderful. One commenter said they have had three, all of whom died of cancer. You are blessed with a pup with no cancer. How do I choose to perhaps minimize the likelihood of losing a dog to cancer?
The combination of cheekiness, intelligence and genuine innocence is wonderful. They look so dainty with those long legs but seem so robust---love watching them!
I have two greyhounds that I rescued. Love them so much they bring me joy and happiness everyday.
They are the best right?
My family has had three greyhounds. Sadly one passed away due to cancer, thus currently leaving us with two. They are amazing animals! I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a dog to seriously consider adopting one of these beautiful creatures. They really do love their naps. We do not allow the dogs off the leach unless they are in a fenced in area due to safety reasons. One of the three didn't get the memo about being very quiet, he does bark but will quiet down relatively quickly. They are loving and meek dogs. Overall they make wonderful pets!!!
Sorry to hear you lost one of your hounds :( Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this beautiful breed :)
Hey, I’ve noticed your username so do you have a cob horse called Elvis? I have a cob called Elvis 😂😂❤️
I adopted a whippet in April. The best decision. His personality ALONE cures all my ailments. I will definitely get either another whippet or greyhound. Perfect companions for this empty nester.
Yep a dog really is the best friend you could ever ask for :)
You don’t need 10 or 20 reasons to love greyhounds, you just love them.
Yessss
Before, I never thought Greyhounds Were very appealing dogs. Then I found out about racing. I thought it was a horrible and cruel sport, and started to do some research on the dogs. Now, they definitely are my favorite dogs! Their just so lovable and playful!
Lemon Lime yes they are absolutely divine dogs but I’m very biased 😂😂
Not a dog owner myself but am partial to the narrow/skinny group of breeds.
@@sarahlee6641 I was never a ''dog'' person before having Sighthounds but Greys and Lurchers and Whippets are very different to the average noisy hairy dog. :)..and adoption saves that dog from death or export where death is highly likely once they stop winning. {see Canidrome, Macau, now thankfully closed with nearly 500 dogs rehomed.
@Elizabeth van Elden Look up the killing fields of greyhounds, the huge wastage, the 18,000 incinerated at Macau alone.
Then say it isn't a cruel sport.
It is one of the cruellest going in terms of animal welfare.
only a very few even grade, thousands are bred every year, thousands are killed as surplus to requirements,
it is a vile 'sport'.
Greyhounds love to run..in fields, not around tight bends where injuries so often occur.
@Elizabeth van Elden Watch this all the way through... sure,'' it is all made up'' [NOT]... is this not horrific enough for you? ua-cam.com/video/h777qA1794o/v-deo.html
OMG, how adorable! I love rescuing dogs. There are so many in need. Also, that is such a lovely beach for them to run on.
Anne Conley thank you and we are so lucky to have this beach so close 👍🏻
What are u rescueing them from?
Benny Plays FSX I didn’t say I was ?
Benny Plays FSX, I'm going to assume you don't understand what rescuing a dog is, rather than assuming you are just trolling. It means to take a dog from being abused, neglected, or abandoned, and placing them in a happy, cared-for environment. Many dogs are in need of good homes, and rather than getting a puppy from a breeder, some people choose to give homes to dogs in need. That is what rescuing is.
Anne Conley I’m thinking he’s just trolling 😩
Arrrr cute, but you forgot to mention *that face* proper puppy dog eyes from such a gentle looking face.
Their long slender noses and beady puppy eyes always melt my heart! ^__^
OMG watching Chester run and dig is pure joy! If I could, I would! You and Mak have totally won me over with this gorgeous breed xxx
Jane Lowe yay! Yep I love watching them zoom around at full throttle and that crazy digging aye???? 😜😜😜😩😩😩😂😂😂
First time we took our rescue greyhound on the beach he just ran around in circles like he was back on the track.
That's so cute :)
They are beautiful. My grey is hilarious and so gentle. Best dog we could have asked for. He's made us a proper family unit.
Yep they're pretty awesome right?
Wow, these dogs are gorgeous, so regal and majestic looking. And the look on their faces is so gentle and sweet. I would love to have one.
Thank you and yes they are so gentle and sweet - I hope you get to own one for yourself one day :)
They are gorgeous lovely to see him running on the beach loving the space. Lovely video ❤️🐾
Sharon Newport thank you ☺️
Greyhound is the bester and beautiful and kind dog in the whole world. I look at your handsome and remember my dog. You made a very cool video, you showed Chestars with beauty. I wish you and your dog all the best. I like this dog!!!
Thank you :)
We love our Greys. 5 keepers (we still have 2), and abut 14 fosters over a 6 year period. Probably never go back to another breed for pets. I'm constantly advocating for them, asking others to adopt them vice buying another dog.
We were told that greyhounds were quiet...we got her home and she's the most vocal dog I've ever had! Constantly barking, squeaking, huffing, rooing, whining at us! She's lovely though, just very dramatic
Greyhounds are goofballs!
Just adopted one and our Joey already stole our hearts from the moment we saw him😍
Yay! That's brilliant news - congrats :)
Hi, I've had three retired racers. At the same time. I started with an adoption of a senior brood mom, then a foster, then another that needed a new home but not his fault. Each had a different personality. I loved them all. They were such wonderful. Now I have just one dog; he is part greyhound. Don't know what the other part is nor his age. Greyhound personality, justlike the other three.
We have two Greyhounds and they are the most affectionate dogs I have ever known
Yes they are so amazing right?
@@Thestyleinsider. it is impossible not to love Greyhounds
Lennart Dundys I totally agree 😍
Dogs are perfection.
Totally agree :)
My husband was inspired to adopt a greyhound after reading about Trent Reznor's greyhounds!
Just learned about this. Thanks.
Did anyone else watch this and at every point be like "Not Kermit though..."
Thank you so much for your prompt, and encouraging, response! The "20 Things" video sold me. Nice work!
I have an Italian greyhound. She is very energetic. She is 13 and still hasn't slowed down one bit.
Oh I love Iggy's too - they are SO fully of energy and SO cute :)
This is such an eye opening video, thanks for sharing! Chester and Galaxy are perfect companions. 🐕🐩🐾🍦
Yay! So glad you enjoyed it and yes I couldn't agree more - they pretty awesome dogs :)
i have been on the greyhound list for ages, but a cat tolerant one when i was young i had a whippet she was so loving
Me too! Have you found a match yet? :)
This is an absolutely lovely video and it’s so amazing to see your pups happy but just a note to other viewers that each hound is different and I wouldn’t say that many of these points are super common across all retired greyhounds (ie being great off lead without muzzle, being fearless, getting on with little dogs) are not actually that common. When adopting a greyhound people should be aware of their quirks and the special attention that might be needed to adjust them into pet life.
They are tooo cutie,!!! Number 10 where he is jumping in water and very excited looks like a dogs version popcorning like a guinea pig does when their excited.
LITTLEBITOFEVERYTHING13 yes you are so right - we have a popcorning guinea pig too and that’s exactly what he seems to do too - funny 😁
When my greyhound was learning how to swim he literally rolled over. I have never seen a dog flip over and sink before. I was right there to rescue him though. Just definitely wasn't expecting that outcome.
Awesome! Your boy looks almost identical to our girl! They are simply the best dogs ❤
I dont understand who did 29 dislikes to this movie???? Sometimes i watch this video, and my mood improved!!! Leoni can you make new movies about your dogs? You can do it so good.
Ahh thank you and yes it’s probably time for me to make another video about my greyhounds - thanks for the idea. I will definitely Italy do it 😘
Im adopting a greyhound really soon, i’ve passed my first interview today. I went to my local dog park with my 4pound chihuahua and a friend of mine who recently adopt a 4y/o grey hound (Who raced 3years).They have now become best friend and they LOVE to run together even if the race is not really fair. Just to confirm the fact that they are friendly even with small dog
Awesome! My two are but be sure you take your little guy to meet your hound and the adoption centres will match a hound to your family and that includes your little guy. Let them do the matching - it’s alwAys the best idea 👍🏻
Thank you! I used to babysit one, miss her. And you local beach is much nicer than mine!
Beautiful video ❤
Your dogs are gorgeous, happy greyhounds! Hugs from Croatia, from my grey and me ☺
Sanja Špoljarić ahhh thank you - a fellow greyhound lover in Croatia 🇭🇷👍🏻
I'm sold. Definitely in consideration for my next pooch
Marcus Crossett best decision you’ll ever make 👊🏼
I have 2 beautiful golden retriever girls at the moment, but they're getting on and wont be here forever :( I've only recently become aware of how amazing greyhounds are, and would love to own one someday. Thanks for the video
Marcus Crossett that’s so funny because our two were playing with two golden retrievers at the beach this morning 😱
where is your beach? Looks familiar. Melbourne?
Marcus Crossett no it’s on Auckland’s north shore in New Zealand 👍🏻
Once a greyhound (galgo) alway's a greyhound for sure!!
Totally :)
I just adopted one , he take part in 26 racing runs after broke his back leg, now he will be resting in my home , we love him so much he has 4 years old , but scary bit to let him run free cause of his injury leg , we don’t want to he broke it again , I let him run bit on long lead but he is so exited he want to run free but like I mention he could do more damage for himself . That’s I don’t want to let him run free u fortunetly :( cause he has so much energy still and can injure more ❤️❤️❤️
Yes it sounds like you do need to keep him quiet until his leg fully heals. Enjoy your boy :)
Uplifting video. Thanks. One thing I didn't realise about greyhounds until I went to an adoption day was just how much they can vary in size. I fostered a boy who was 42 kilos - huge! My whippet is very big even for a boy and he is only 18 kilos. I've seen female greyhounds that weren't all that much bigger than my whippet.
Yes most people don't realise how big some greyhounds are that's for sure :)
Beautiful and agree with every one. A privilege to share your life with ❤💚
Lesley Lawrence definitely a privilege 👌🏽
I have an adopted retired Greyhound racer. She is amazing...loves our three cats and all people, but does not like any other dogs-even other Greyhounds. When she was a racer, she was known as a bumper. She would bump the other dogs out of the way. She does not like attending Meet and Greets.
Oh that's interesting - they all seem to have their unique quirks :)
That run first up is what I call the goooner run as they look so goony and joyful. Only Dog to have 💞💗💞
I couldn't agree more :)
What a sweet guy! Thanks for the video. It's great. I just got a retired racer. She's super sweet.
Yep he's pretty adorable even if I do say so myself :) Great to hear you've got a retired racer too :)
Just got a rescue Lurcher (greyhound cross Collie). Beautiful nature - everything you say in this video is true
Wonderful!
Great video...I have a retired greyhound myself. You really did a great job of nailing some good points.
Thank you! Once I'd posted this video I thought of about 20 more I should have included though LOL :)
It's been awhile since you posted this video, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm in the process of researching dogs in hopes of getting on next year. Thanks for posting!
Well I’d def recommend a greyhound or two 😂
Awesome video on greyhounds! They are like any other breed! Yours are beautiful!
Thank you :)
Beautiful dog and a lovely place to live !
Thank you :)
My first rescued Greyhound also picked the walk in closet as her spot too! There's something about the quietness of the spot that appealed to her I think. She eventually transitioned to the bed and then the couch when she became more comfortable with the family. She's also one of the rare greyhounds that could smile! It was adorable to see whenever we arrived home.
Cute :)
I adopted a greyhound in September and I just made a video about it! I agree with you! 💕
Yay! :)
Beautiful dogs. And remember St Guinefort - the medieval dog saint, who was a greyhound.
Thank you and yes in fact I know someone who has named their greyhound Guinefort :)
It's funny. When you read the story in French, they talk about a "lévrier" (a sighthound), never mentionning a greyhound. When you read the story in English, they say a "greyhound". I love all sighthounds, but always thought more about Guinefort being a saluki (because of crusades). Disclaim: I've been dreaming to get a sighthound and name him Guinefort for 25 years. Since I first learned about that story in fact. All sighthounds are beautiful.
Your Greyhounds are beautiful!
My wife and I have been adopting Greyhounds for over 25 years and they are just the best fur baby family member you could ask for!! We recently lost our little boy "Raider" and are looking to adopt another as soon as the borders open up again so we can import another.
I miss my Mario he was black and white too :). 16 years old and unfortunately hasnt seen 2019:/. I love this video because Mario was so chill but was more of a mini. He loved his exercise, sleep, treats and lots of attention. I cry all the time because I miss him bc he was like always by my side. They run on LOVE
Such adorable little friends.. we have a whippet and a chihuahua (and an African grey parrot).. our whippet is very laid back and sweet.. we now live in an apartment.. we're planning on rescuing a greyhound from Spain once we move into a bigger house.. fingers crossed.. but greyhounds are the best breed ever.. love from Holland ❤
Firdaouss F are your little animal family sounds awesome 👏🏻
Pawsome video furiend! I luvz swimmin', nappin' and ice creamz too! I needz to try that diggin' thing. Lookz fun!
Big tail wagz! ~ Xander Greyhound 🐾
You should try the digging - it's so much fun :)
@@Thestyleinsider. I shall putz it on my to do list furiend! Thankz for the tip! ~ Xander Greyhound 🐾
Love dogs! I have 4 little ones! Great video, really enjoyed it.
kathy anderson thank you 😊
Hi Leonie! I discovered your channel some months ago and I just love it. Today I stumbled on this video and I love your channel even more!!! Of course you have graceful, beautiful and chill dogs - "Birds of a feather flock together"
Aww thank you and yes they are the most beautiful dogs right? I’m typing this as they are both lazing next to me in the couch. Is a Spanish greyhound similar to a regular greyhound or smaller like the Italian greyhound? I’m off to google them now - thx for your kind message 😊
@@Thestyleinsider. the Spanish greyhound is slightly smaller but not as small as the Italian greyhound. They also have flatter muscles and are higher over the hip area. Frankly, I’m not sure I could see the difference! As to their nature it’s identical to the greyhound.
My whippet is just like a little greyhound. She is in doggy heaven now but she will always be inside my heart. She was just perfect 💛
I just lost my whippy, would not bark but talk to me roooo roooo. Give kisses if asked, I will see her again some day. Maybe a greyhound when I get over my loss.
I adore Greyhounds I’ve had three now and lm looking forward to being owned by one again someday.
They are simply the best right? Although I'm VERY biased :)
They are just perfect ❤️
Thank you :)
Greyhounds are jus5 so darn NICE.
I know but I'm SO biased too LOL :)
Nice !!! I had a whippet and a Grey ... they where fantastic !!!! Big like !
Just WOW!!!
Chester looks like the absolute best, he makes me miss my grey hound whippet Cross so much! She was my bae😍
Yes I think he's pretty cool but I'm biased LOL :)
great video! thank you!
I have rescued 7 of them since 1993 and my last one Stan passed in July 2020. He was 14. My terrier "Charlie" misses his Greyhound buddies
Cannot wait to collect my 2nd Greyhound from my local rescue centre this Saturday. Called Monty!
I totally recommend going down to your local re-homing centre that look after ex-racing Greyhounds.
Totally awesome doggie. :-)
Wonderful !
Don't forget they are soooo soft
Yes of course! How did I forget that? :(
I know that beach! Awesome greyhounds. I want one!
Thank you :)
❤ I have 3 Spanish greyhounds. They are super gentle.
😍🥰😍🥰 Thanks for the video
Wonderful video and music!! I'm adopting my ex-racer Grey at the end of the month. His name is Abe and I love him already. Cheers! :)
Yippee! Get ready for your life to be changed for the better - so exciting :)
To add to your list. There really smart. He’ll stand in front of the tv until he gets his way. Meaning move my husband and ion the couch apart every time for him to jump between us. Also, extremely trusting.
Adorable....true heart crusher.
OMG when he's lounging in the water
He's funny when he does that right?
He is adorable!!!😍
Adi Maor thank you 👍🏻
I love my greyhounds, and yours resemble my 2 girls soo much.
Ahh thank you! They are the best dogs right?
I love love LOVE this video!
Thank you 🙏🏼
One day I hope to adopt 2 or 3. They are gorgeous! P.S. where ever you live it's beautiful!
You won't regret adopting a greyhound that's for sure :)
I have grown up around greyhounds I love them they don’t bark or smell and are really good with kids
I couldn't agree more - they are the best :)
you are right they are best dogs in the world
Chachh itehad Group thanks your one of the only people that have said that!
@@vi_elizabeth_541 yeah beacause I love greyhounds ... and I have two ... they are much lovelable .. rather than other dogs like they bark scary ... :D greyhound are like gentleman hahaha
Chachh itehad Group same I have two I just love them!
I love your dog! He’s beautiful!
Mary Clark thank you - I think so too 🙊👍🏻
After doing a considerable amount of research on the subject of service dogs, I've made up my mind to get a greyhound. I have a motorized scooter to provide good exercise and lots of woods here to explore.
Fantastic! It will be the best decision of your life - promise!
I concur. It came down to two choices; Greyhound or Boston Terrier. I've had a Boston before. They're very handy to blame for noxious fragrances I produce in my home, but they can be a little stubborn (Moe was in any case) and he had a lot of dental issues. A greyhound is going to be considerably larger and I thought long and hard about it since my apartment is only 650 sq. ft., but since they sleep for the majority of their lives I have a cozy little space in my bedroom planned for a crocheted dog cave I'm working on now. I will freely admit that having Moe reminded me a lot of my ex-husband with all the snorting and farting and I do miss that to some degree, ,plus it was fun to smoosh his face.
Perhaps you can help answer a question I have. Is it possible to train a full-sized greyhound to use a large, doggie litter box? I have a neurological condition that sometimes makes it very difficult for me to get up and simply to go the bathroom, much less walk a dog, but I don't want my partner to have to hold everything until I feel better.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
I appreciate your input since I'm still collecting information.
My other breed choices would be a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a French Bulldog or a Boston Terrier, all of which require about the same amount of exercise as a greyhound. Frenchies were specifically bred to be companions to lacemakers and I happen to be fond of the snorty-farty breeds since they remind me of my ex-husband and are convenient scapegoats for my own gaseous indiscretions.
Obviously, whatever dog selected would have to be pretty low energy since getting out has been a problem. I wouldn't mind having a partner with three legs or its own disability, as one of the psychological considerations of being handicapped is finding a reason to get up in the morning. It would be nice to be needed.
Should you have any recommendations, I'm more than open to hearing what you have to say, and I thank you in advance.
Gayle Klein find a good place to adopt, because they will really help find a greyhound to suit you. Especially GAP in Victoria Australia, I know they put lots of time into finding the dogs perfect homes for the individual greyhound, since every greyhound is not the exact same. :)
Greyhounds will not be great service dogs. But getting one may still help you feel better emotionally and mentally, but that can be said for anyone who has a pet or special something. Good luck.
aww chesta reminds me of my brindle girl dottie, they both have the same playful personality 😂❤️sadly the boy we had before her passed away from a tumor :(
I just adore my Greyhounds ❤️x
super nice!
Lovely video💞
Grey's are definitely speed merchants - and to me the best looking of any breed. I've had three and I agree with all 20 things you love about your greyhounds - especially #20.
For my money, rescued greyhounds are the VERY best possible canine option.
I couldn't agree more - definitely best possible canine option in my opinion. But I am very biased.
Seem like perfect companions!
Patti S yes they are great company 👍🏻
I learned so much from your video. I had no idea that Greyhounds love to dig, or loved the water! My Miniature Schnauzer loves to take a dip, too. But what is most surprising about Chester is how you can take him off the lead and he'll still come back. I heard that this practice is not a good idea, but all dogs are individuals, you know? Personally, I would NEVER get a dog than didn't come when called... too difficult and dangerous.
Tienen esa carita tan dulce en una palabra hermosisimos 💓💓💓💓
Had my Riley for 8 years. great companion. Sadly, bone cancer showed up. Broke my heart to put her down
Gorgeous dogs 😍
I think so too but I'm biased :)
