- The Renault Zoe, one of the first ever EVs available in the UK, but from next year will be replaced by the all new Renault 5.
It's a cute car, compact and nippy.
Thanks as always to @TheHendyGroup for their help and support. For more info on Renault Zoe click here www.hendy.co.u...

I bought my wife a Zoe last year, her previous car was a Nissan Micra .She absolutely loves her Zoe,as far as the regen goes after a couple of days driving in B mode the car automatically connects to B mode.Only downside is the curved edge on the door if you are a small person it could hit you on the head as you open the door.
I still got my Micra 1.2; 138K miles with no engine fault - good luck if you make it to that mileage(cheap to run and insure).....no health and safety issues!
Hi Phillipa, I’m really enjoying your new “renaissance” series, it’s good to have you back. Live long and prosper young lady🖖
The Zoe was the first ever EV I drove, great car. Keep the reviews coming Philippa 👍👍
Always interesting to see vehicles that will never be seen on roads in North America.
Sorry, £33k for a small car is still crazy prices..... maybe in about 10 years they will become reasonable?
awsome !! heated seat and wheel is must !!....
It looks a very nice car. But like other EV’s £30-£33k is a lot for a small car. For that price you are able to buy a very nice luxury petrol car. I am in the market for an EV but it’s going to be second hand I feel.
Significantly higher running costs using a petrol car... My ev costs 2p a mile vs 30p a mile for petrol.
@@floppledopple Yes I am in no doubt the electric car is significantly cheaper to run. It’s just the cost of a new one is abit steep yet with a lack of quality tech compared to similar priced petrol cars.
Yep I think in another 5 years there should be much more affordable options in the used market with better range.
Was just thinking about heated seats and you mentioned them. Nice cars - and a great used buy. I am waiting to see the Renault 5 and the Fiat Panda before I change my car (Smart ForTwo).
Not a big car, but an excellent all rounder! Love it! ❤️
Hi Philippa great review , have you thought about the new Peugeot 308. They are a lovely car with a very nice steering wheel. Although it is a plug in hybrid.
Fabulous car! We often get 300 miles plus out of our Zoe!
How come? - do you only go downhill ??
your mpkwhr? I'm getting an indicated 4.9 at mo.
@@ST-jq no, always just down hill 🤣😂
You must get a lot of cyclists overtaking you!
My ZE40 has charge cover opening and cabin pre-heat/de-frost all from the key fob and from an app. False floor available to make the deep boot have a level load alternative. I thought the B mode simply increases the amount of re-gen.
Always great vids
Well done , good review .
£14000 approx used good value
EVM recently bought a 2016 Zoe for £4400. It had sensible mileage too.... It's worth a look on his UA-cam EVM channel....
This is a fine car..... problem is that when most people are in the market for an electric car they expect more than 'fine'. They want it be have Mercedes luxury and Porsche performance if they spend 'EV money'
Spot on. Good cars or not, the manufacturers are taking the p**s out of us when it comes to price. I always get a bit fed up to hear the expression 'an affordable EV'; they're not.
They're expensive for what they are but not 'as expensive' as the other EV's. Still very nice cars but there's a bit of a con going on with regards to price. (I actually have that from an Industry insider too, as if we needed telling). There's a lot of lost money and extra costs to be made up by the manufacturers and this is just one way.
Sorry phillipa but more needs to be said about the charging.
The "fast charging" of direct current is optional, at 50kW which is grand but no longer market leading, but the old charging unit was an AC 3 Phase and it wad truly unique.
Only others who had it were Teska, and the Smart Fortwo FourFour.
they could charge at 21kW at regular stations where most cars with +100kW DC could inky mahage anywhere beyween 3.3 to 11kW AC.
It maie for a much more useful car, instead of a fast rapid charger DC for rare trips
In addition the almost unique point about the Zoe is its 22kW (43kW on Q models) charging capability on a Type 2 connector. With a lot more cars using CCS and not so many chargers in proportion a free 22kW Type 2 is a lot easier to find than a CCS. This will change in the future but at the moment I'm enjoying competition free Type 2 charging even though it's slower. Time for a coffee break and walk the dog when we go on holiday. And that's the secret. It won't suit everybody but build charging breaks every two hours in your journey.
what do you think of the kids mining the cobalt.........to make the batteries ?
What do you think of the kids mining the cobalt used in oil refineries to refine petrol/diesel?
Many of the latest EV's now use LiFePO4 batteries which don't contain cobalt. So anyone who REALLY cares about the kids needs to ditch their fossil fool car and buy an EV with a cobalt free battery.
@@malcolmfowler8972 but they also mine lithium with big health risks to young kids - petrol refined with lithium as well?
@@malcolmfowler8972And for mobile phones people tend to think they only mine if for evs
More is used for diesel processing apparently. It’s awful, but not an issue solely because of EVs. The next gen of batteries avoids this.
Please review the MG4? 😊
Accelerator regen looses range.
Worth knowing this if you one day find you need every last mile to get you home or to the next charger.
True. Brake-pedal regen allows natural coasting, which is a more efficient use of residual kinetic energy, when an option. The brake is regenerative; it doesn’t use friction until the hard point. I get much more out of my Zoe in ‘D’. I occasionally use ‘B’ descending a long steep hill, for convenience. I really don’t see the point of equipping a car with multiple levels of regen.
Philippa hasn't lost it one iota
RIP Ford Fiesta
Essex have declared 2 days mourning…
Bow to your crossover overloads. Now go to work and back everyday in it for the remainder of your waking lives.
The Fiesta has had its day. There are alternatives out there now which are better built, drive just as well, and cost less.
Rip Chaos 2
£30000 to £33000 "not too bad" 🙄
The average cost of a new car sold in Britain is £34k......
Test hair dryers. No side airbags is ok in 2023?
I was told by a dealer that only the very base spec had the airbags removed, and that within a few months they put them back in again.
From this ua-cam.com/video/E0hkGUCmxy0/v-deo.html to now and you are still just as sweet and loveable.
Just don't say it charges at 50 kW per hour. You should know better!
Remember, she is a dopey blonde!
Renault Zoe can’t see out the back of them when reversing.
DO NOY HAND OVER 40 THOUSAND FOR THIS CAR
Charging portal (ha ha plug it in ha ha ha ha ha) 33,000 pounds...》ha ha ha ...take the air bags out.....but u are safer.?..ha ha ha ha...enjoy sitting in traffic.
You know you've failed in life if you buy this.
You might as well go and vote for Zoe Sunak.
That would depend on whether you’re buying a car to represent your “success”, or whether you are buying it to do an actual job for you.
......yes thats FUKIN FOOURTY THOUSAND POUNDS......
Dooo noot do it....do not get into pcp bullshite......earn some money, buy a car.....
Get a bike.
