    Hello from California, San Francisco Bay Area. Loving your videos. I have a small 1996 28’ Bayliner 2858 with flybridge. Bayliner a great bang for the buck. Wonderful designed boats. Cannot wait to be able to afford to customize her.

    We love your videos and hope that we might see you this winter in Ft Pierce after you get back on the road in your bus. It is so much fun to follow you guys on the Great Loop. We spend lots of time in our Class A RV, and this summer went to four coasts in Florida, including the Treasure Coast, the Nature Coast, the Forgotten Coast, and the Emerald Coast. We are retired and base our travels out of Ocean City, NJ, where we have a condo. Thanks for sharing all your keen insights and adventures with all of us. Doug and Jan, The Beach Boomers.

      Sounds like a fun summer... Florida is so much easier to travel in during summer, isn't it? If you can tolerate the heat, the parks are wide open.
      When we return from our RVing winter, we'll be returning to the boat in north Florida to resume heading up the ICW. We stopped in Ft. Pierce back in May.

    Thanks for sharing that! Earlier this summer we camped at a marina/RV Park at Ilion, NY on the Erie Canal. As you know you’ll be traveling that same route as part of the loop. Not far from the marina/RV Park we took a nice boat ride on the canal through one of the many locks. We were told by the tour guide that the lock operators talk to each other from lock to lock and won’t let a boat through if they got to the next lock before they should have based on the speed limit on the canal. We can definitely see why you elected to take this journey. Loving your videos!

      We did a canal cruise up there too while RVing... definitely reaffirmed our Great Loop intentions. So looking forward to that segment. Glad you got to enjoy a part of it!

    Can't wait till you reach the great lakes. As we are from lake Erie. Toledo Ohio. We are starting our search for a boat to start our travel of the lakes.

    Love your content packed videos with tips and tricks, but also loved to see and hear about your travels. We hope to make it to Florida from MN this winter, but we wont have a boat, so this was fun to see. 10 minute Max is usually my attention span, but I watched the whole thing!

    First video of yours I've watched - pointed here from another cruisers channel. Good production - loved the time lapsed and drone shots.
    Enjoyed seeing the 'local' neighborhood. We're still new to cruising - in our 'training' year. Moored at Harbortown Marina on the Canaveral Barge Canal on Merritt Island. We've cruised from the Dragon in the south (Did you know the new owners of that property on the point are going to build a new dragon?) to the Mosquito Lagoon in the north. Love the manatees at Haul Over. Next step in 'training' is an over night up to New Smyrna Beach. Trip down to Key West in Spring of 2019 is our 'graduation' exam.

    Hi, my wife and I are in the preliminary stages of our Loop Dream. Please tell us how hot is gets in the cabin on a 90 degree sunny day. Do you need to run the A/C constantly on these days/nights as well or does the ocean breeze eventually provide some relief? TY

    • @Technomadia
      @Technomadia  5 років тому

      Depends on a lot of factors. During the day, usually running at least 2 ACs. At night, it might cool down enough to not need it - especially if at anchor and swinging with the winds.

    When we did one of our Great Road Trips, we stopped at the Space Coast and did the Kennedy Space Center VIP Tour. This got us into the Vehicle Assembly Building. I was impressed.
    My husband had worked in the Apollo Missions and had ridden elevators (past a Fully assembled Saturn V Rocket) to the Roof of the VAB (complete with lightning rods every few feet). He wasn't nearly as impressed just standing in the floor looking up.

    • @Technomadia
      @Technomadia  6 років тому +1

      Oh wow.. what amazing experiences! We've never been in the VAB, we'll need to look up that tour sometime. And how cool your hubby worked in the Apollo Missions.

    • @LisaMarli
      @LisaMarli 6 років тому

      Note the VAB is only open when they aren't doing something in there. We were there when it was (sadly) not assembling something. So it really is a matter of timing. But with family in the area, at least you have a reason to visit often. And yeah, my sister in law lives in Jupiter, so driving up the coast to I10 made sense.
      Great Road Trips would happen when we have someplace we need to go, then add all the fun stuff that lets us see America. "We're in the car, we have a tank full of gas. Hit it."

    Have you set a monthly budget for marina stays?... It would seem with your boat size you would be paying about $100 a night at transient rates?

    • @Technomadia
      @Technomadia  6 років тому

      Indeed, nightly marina costs are pretty high - usually $60-150/night for our vessel. We avoid them when we can (such as this trip - all free anchoring). Instead, we utilize weekly and monthly stays when we find interesting cities to explore, which makes it much more affordable (and gives us a better life balance). We're usually staying around a grand a month that way by balancing it out.

      I have done lots of research and they have great rep. they are not cheap but built to last a life time. You can spend as much as you want but can also find many at a reasonable price. 300-400k.

    In Bulgaria most beaches are clothing optional and its great although seeing my girlfriends mother topless was a bit of a surprise. Needless to say I regret not marrying her lol.

    • @josephharris2718
      @josephharris2718 5 років тому

      Only thing better than a topless beach is a nude beach. The only reason I pass up a topless or clothing optional area is if it is too cold not because of the possibility of seeing someone I know.
