Hi Jon, just watched your review of their latest album, glad we agree on it! Among all the old pop punk bands of the 2000s, they're the ones who aged the best in my opinion.
Seriously. I've seen them many times over the years, and this tour, they've felt more alive than they have since the DTLI days. They look like they truly love it again.

Props to Derrick for remaining a helluva showman despite all the shit he went through. Dude is back in full force. This is a band that I thought would have met it’s demise already. But damn Zummo is a kickass drummer, Baksh is back and they are still laying it down like nobody’s business. I’m 47 now and the early 200s is the last time period that I miss. God bless these guys for still throwin down!

They're all tight as fuck live, have to see them soon. Always loved how they blur the line between metal and punk. Criminally underrated and mega talented.
Sum41 is not underrated at all, they had tons of success and music videos on MTV, etc. What the hell you smoking bro and can I get some? And since when is this metal? What other metal bands do you like, Blink182? 😅 they're talented as fuck, why they are famous, but very very far from metal.

Some of their riffs and progressions are metal as fuck 🤘 I mean in the grand scheme of things as well with them being underrated, you ask most bellends these days and they barely know who they are. Blink (with Tom) are my favourite band too along with Avenged Sevenfold 😂

Sum 41 was always the superior group out of that era. They write better riffs, better lyrics, harder music. It was pop-punk but definitely a lot of metal influence. Paiiiiin for pleasureeee
Blink definitely not the same without Tom. Kinda wished Mark and Trav continued +44, they had some killer tracks on their first album.
Sum 41 is the perfect example of a band who has artistic integrity but also have an understanding that their “hits” are popular for a good reason and not shying away from keeping those old songs alive.

These guys were always a very different breed than the average pop-punk Mtv fodder bands of the early millennium.
They were pretty much one of the first pop punk bands to include metal influences before everyone else did.

@@nonfiction4364 Instead Sum 41' song writing is what has aged better. Screaming Bloody Murder is their fifth album but is also their most deep and complex. 13 Voices and Order in Decline are great as well, way more mature than All Killers No Fillers

god damn, from a musical and vocally correct standpoint, they're literally in the best shape they've ever been in.
they pulled off the new song insanely well.
I never got it before.. But there's obviously something special about this group of people that sets them apart from a lot of bands from that era. Maybe its their likeability, passion, maybe its talent, maybe its the composition of the group..maybe it's all of the above. But there's such a cosey feeling to this that's hard to describe.
It's amazing.

As someone who grew up with pop punk/punk rock/Emo - Greenday, Blink, Good Charlotte, Fall out Boy, Bowling for Soup, new found glory. I have to say Sum 41 really impressed me with this show, so happy to see they're still going as heavy as ever!

I can't believe "Summer" is 19 years old. 2019 now and being alive long enough to hear they got a new record coming out is one thing, but they kept their pop punk style and instead of going full pop, they're embracing metal a little more. I'm no fan of metal music but I do love sum 41. Damn it's weird being old. I'll take this over trap music almost any day

Great mix of new and old tracks. I'll admit, I've fallen out of listening to them the past decade or so. But they keep the albums coming and are killing it live. Definitely staying relevant in this era of safe music.
