Fabulous playthrough from two of my favorite Murphs!! Two corrections Mike: 1) Bees don't cool down the honey, they fan to evaporate the moisture content and turn nectar to thick honey. 2). At PAXU 2018, Paula Deming was on your left.
At the 7:50 mark, Mike said that bees flap their wings in order to cool down the honey in the hive. This is not true!! Although bees will beat their wings in order to cool off the hive in general on hot days during the spring, summer and fall...the actual reason they beat their wings (as it relates to honey) is to condense the nectar (remove water from the cell) to get it down to a very specific percentage of water which stabilizes the honey.
I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday to buy a book for a friend and decided to treat myself as well with a book. I just browsed the board game section and wasn’t expecting to pick anything up, but I saw this one and heard a lot of good things, so I just impulse bought it. Now I know how to play and it seems very fun and quick. I also bought Waggle Dance online a few days back with a Labor Day sale so when that comes in, I’ll have two new bee board games.
Quick shout out for another honey-centric game. Ursa Miner is an awesome family-weight game where you control a team of bears mining honey and royal jelly from the honey mountain. It's one of my kids' favorites.
Hey Guys, I'm pretty sure you won't see this comment at the bottom of the comment section & I also don't want to be that guy but I really have that "itch" to let Nick know that it's NOT milk thistle that you want to be telling people to plant in California for monarch butterflies! Milk thistle is an invasive plant from Europe and not at all what you want to plant for pollinators. You are thinking about Milkweed & there are about 5 kinds native to California that monarchs need. The Xerces society (for bug Nerds!) has some great info on this.
@@TheBrothersMurph should also add that really enjoy your content and appreciate the message about the importance of pollinators. California is actually trying real hard to understand the status of our native bees right now and I think anyone in the state can volunteer to help in your area if you look up the CA Bumble Bee Atlas project, they are taking on volunteers.
Welp...now I need this game in my life...thanks a lot 🙃. Would you consider a play through of Isle of Cats? I've been debating the purchase for quite some time now...
Also, do y'all have Vagrantsong? It's sitting on my table (but behind Descent...gotta finish that)...and I'd love to see that played through by my favorite peeps! (don't tell Paula and Matthew)
I'm gonna cc them on this comment... but we do not have that one but it's high on our want to try list and we will absolutely give it a go when we get a chance
Love these playthroughs! *looks at shelves* Sure wouldn't mind if you were to play any of the following in a future video: Horrified, Raiders of the north sea, Smallworld, Five Tribes, Quadropolis. Also saw you guys saying you wanted to retry Yamatai in another video. Would be cool to see you play that and see if your thoughts on it changes. Any plans for making more "You Can Solo That?" vids?
Oooooh those are all great game suggestions! And we actually plan on doing some solo play though vids soon and will probably attach a review of the solo mode to those so indeed we will do them but in a slightly different form :)
I have wanted to play this game for months! Preordered a copy of it. Can't wait!!!! Also, how does Merry make you money?! Can you teach me how that works?? My dogs are very good at COSTING me money...but have never yet earned me any. XD XD XD
@@TheBrothersMurph YOU HAVE MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD!!!!! My toy poodle (pictured as my profile pic) would be perfect at that. She absolutely loves everyone, and because she is a dog, even though she is an older dog, everybody loves her little diaper and harness set! (She is disabled.) She could rob somebody WHILE they saw her doing it, and if she just licked them on the nose, they wouldn't care. All the time, I could've been making millions!!!!....except she would keep all the money and spend it on herself...and maybe a little bit on her sisters....maybe.....XD XD
This is true another print run is coming along with the expansion and I agree the problem with our hobby being so small, you get supply chain issues. Especially these days. But publishers are busting their buns to get games in folks' hands for sure :)
Yay! Love that you guys did this playthrough, it's such an amazingly produced game and really fun. And super yay for appearance by Merry!
Merry for the win!

Wowwwwww Mike out here looking foolish

This is true I shall go apologize to the nearest hive for I have wronged the poor bees

Nice what a great deal!
“I don’t understand bee technology” 😂😂😂
Stinkin' bees wont share their tech with us. That's why we're in this mess
Picked this game up at DTW and so glad I did. I love it. Great video (as always). Thank you for the entertain/informative content.
No worries and glad you got to snag it!
26:30 - RIP the Rulebook. 😄
yeeted that rulebook into another dimension

That sounds awesome!

Loving this format gents, keep up the awesome work! 🤙
Thank you so much and absolutely will do!
You guys made this game click for me finally! Ima go out and buy it now. Sigh... thanks!
We apologize to your wallet but we are excited for you!
Wow wow wow! This game is on its way to me and I can’t tell you how excited I am to play it! Great game guys! 😊👏🏻🐝
Also Mike, I need more of Mike and the magic tones. Thanks. 🤣
Hope you enjoy! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I lost all control over thought and general speech during that voice over and it's very likely to happen again in the future
Most interesting bee fact: All the male bees are thrown out of the hive in the late summer and starve to death.
Them bees get told to kick rocks no room at the inn
They were not the drones they were looking for.
This game is high on my list to try.
We hope you get a chance to soon!
Aussies! I'm looking forward to playing Honeybuzz. Loved the plug for pollinators!
Pollinators and Mini Aussies for life!
When you no do a decree action, do you need to pay 5 coins?
Are your upggraded bits Geek Up Bits?
no they're upgrades you can get from the publisher

What about if you slap down or break open a hive? All the bees come out so won't you see some males as you're being stung all over?
I mean, maybe? Imma let you do that experiment and let me know if you see some dude bees
@@TheBrothersMurph alright I'm on it! I'll be sure to stick around to take lots of close-up pics. I imagine they'll be good sports about it
Watching 😀 This game is so cute!
It's the dang cutest

She's trained in the art of pickpocketing and we clean up at the dog park. Hope you enjoy your copy!

Hate to be that guy, but I'm pretty sure Mike paid the wrong honey at 19:28
Shhhhhhhhh a little black market honey never hurt anyone ;) JK good catch I goofed
Fun! ❤️
Thank you!
Once again another game very few people can get. That is the problem with the game hobby and industry.
You can pre-order directly from the publisher.
This is true another print run is coming along with the expansion and I agree the problem with our hobby being so small, you get supply chain issues. Especially these days. But publishers are busting their buns to get games in folks' hands for sure :)
The bee fact is false.
ok, NEARLY every single bee you've seen is female. Fixed it.
The only bees you've ever been stung by are female
correct
Geez.....almost 4½ min. before actual starting the playthrough. C'mon guys, playing is fun, so stop wasting time.
Naw we’re good
