Which did you like better? This one or the first??
First
First
Honestly the first one. They could not make Johnny Depp any more Scottish in it, and I loved that.
Definitely Alice through the looking glass!
Hm… I think the first one. But this one is so intense!)
(35:48) if you look back at the first movie when alice visits the mad hatter after the attack the hatter says, “Well, as you can see we’re still having tea. It’s all because I was obliged to kill Time waiting for your return. You’re terribly late, you know... naughty. Well anyway, time became quite offended and stopped altogether. Not a tick ever since”
This movie explains why/how it happens
Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen is such a petty icon I love her 😂
The earthquake part always gets me HAHHAH
You say at the beginning that the previous one didn't really seem like it would continue. It actually had some small details that can be linked to this one. For example the first time Alice meets the hatter and his friends, they are happy that the time is moving again. In this one Time said to the Hatter that the time won't move again until Alice joins them.
I LOVE the way Time is portrayed. The design, the actor, everything. I watched the movie twice when it was in cinemas just because of him.
Love your videos!
SAMEE I thought he was an interesting character
I just keep waiting for him to say Rickie Bobby in the French accent. 😂
It's sacha 😂
I can't with the Red Queen shaking the ant farm saying "earthquake "😂😂😂😂
I was so glad to see that y'all did this one. My brother and I actually have a tattoo from this particular movie! At the end when the rust is taking over all of time, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, hold each other and before they are frozen in time they say to each other "Goodbye, brother." and the other says "Brother, goodbye." and that's what we have tatted :)
Thats beautiful!
@@GmmBeast Thank you very much :,) some people think it's weird and always ask "did your brother die or something?" and I try to explain it's significance and their eyes always glaze over before I get to the end. So it's nice to see that a few people appreciate it haha!
I found it entertaining how they keep referring to Alice as the kindergartener. In the original books Alice was like 7yo lol
In the books she was smart in this movie she’s an idiot.
I love both movies. What I particularly loved about this film was the origin of Hatter, Mirana, and Iracibeth. If you remember that in the first film, Mirana had taken a vow to never harm any living creature. This film answers that she took vow out of guilt for not being honest and how this one act of deception caused more damage than a rift between her sister. Now I’m not saying Iracibeth is excused for her actions; I’m merely pointing out that neither Queen were pure hearted and that maybe if Mirana had not lied Iracibeth might’ve not became corrupted by her obsession to make her sister tell the truth. As for Hatter, I loved how it he practically was a reflection of Alice as both had refused to end like their respective parent. It only took something horrible to make them feel remorse about never getting the chance for reconciliation. 👩🏼🦱🎩🐇🦋👸🏼👸🏽♟♥️⏱
Good point. Me too, I liked to learn the two sisters' background and I felt very bad for Iracebeth.
I loved this one. My favorite characters are Cheshire Cat and Hatter so the fact that this one has more screen time of them both I love this one automatically more lol
I like this one better than the first one, both are great in their own ways.
I like how Time parallels Hades in a way. Hades is seen as both a villain and someone who does his job.
That King is Richard Armitage, who played Thorin Oakenshield in the hobbit movies
Ahhhh there it is I was looking for this comment to see if I should tell them or if someone already had xD
In this movie it's so incredible that Alice gets to see her friends from wonderland again.
Alice in wonderland is the first book, through the looking glass is it's sequel, same author, but most movies mix them together so people who haven't read the books have trouble knowing which is which. More is usually used from Alice in wonderland, but personally I like through the looking glass better.
Besides some must have read an edition with both books combined into one volume like we had (eventhough our's was in German which is my mother tounge).
Also does no one realize that the White Rabbit is voiced by Michael Sheen?? I think he was originally meant to do the Cheshire Cat but switched roles bc of issues with the schedule....gotta love Stephen Fry as Cheshire too tho, ofc. This cast is just packed with amazing actors and big names, sometimes you don't even realize quite how many the first time watching!
I remember watching this movie in the cinema in 3D!! I'm telling you, THAT was an experience!!
the king was played by the same actor as Thorin from the hobbit!
Oh cool!!!
Fun fact the docks scene at the beginning was filmed in my hometown :)
I'm so happy someone finally reacted to this. Thanks guys, seems like all my favorite reactors all do the same movies. Thanks for going off the beaten path. Would love to see a Sphere reaction too, but that's being greedy.
Love this movie! Haven’t seen it in a while so I kinda forgot how much I love it and some of the stuff that happened. One of my favorite parts of this movie is that they show more backstory/background on the queen of hearts and her sister the white queen. I find that really interesting because no one‘s ever done something like that before well not that I know of. Love the videos! You both do an amazing job!
Oh my goodness. “Do we have to kill him in his soup” almost ended me! Hahahaha🤣🤣🤣
46:07 Hey in Alice's defense, How was she supposed to know, like Time could have warned her of the world ending consequences earlier when she first asked for the time machine.
I’ve spent the last few weeks binging all these videos and now idk what to do with myself😂I’d love to see your guys’s reaction to Mary Poppins! I grew up with every Disney movie, Marvel, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pirates, Harry Potter, so it’s cool seeing first time reactions to the movies I love. Jurassic Park would be fun on the channel too!
Muu
it's amazing how the Club symbol fits perfectly to signify Time with each petal representing each stage of time Past Present and Future
Did you not recognize the blue butterfly was the caterpillar, Alan Rickman?
I think they pointed that out in their commentary for the first movie if I remember correctly:)
the red queen, the hatter and time are absolute amazing characters
21:18 "he sounds like someone" thats kermit the frog right there
(don't know his voice actor but they sure sound alike lol)
Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham reuniting on screen after ‘Les Misérables’ (2012). They have great comedic chemistry.
41:04 YOOOOOO I just noticed that th crown makes it seem like she's flipping them off!! This is HILARIOUS
Congratulations on 100k subscribers James ,you deserve it
If you guys are thinking of watching more Alice like movies or are a twist, there is a SiFi Alice movie that is super good, it is however close to 3 hours long and it doesn't have the greatest CGI but I watch it like once a year cause I just love the twists they did in it
I'm a bit older, but my two favourite Alice movies are from the early 80s. One has Ringo Starr as the Mock Turtle, and the other has Richard Burton's daughter as Alice (She is an adult in that one too)
my favourite thing about time travel in film is that it never goes well in any movie you see when a character gets ahead of themself and tries to go further back in time to change a different past- it's like a universal truth that with hindsight, or all the time in the world, changing the past in the slightest way won't ever bode well for anyone and i love how it plays out in all those films that explore this!!
This is not actually the FIRST time Disney has had this kind of climax. Look back to the last episode of the original Duck Tales and you get the same thing: a cursed golden duck statue that turns what it's beak touches to gold is kept under control by water from a magic fountain. When the duck is stolen, the final stage of the curse begins turning the entire world to gold and Scrooge is forced to return the now live duck to the fountain, racing the transformation and just returning the duck to the fountain as he turns into gold.
Thank you for watching my favorite movie in the whole world when you did. A Family member went to the hospital last night and I was feeling kind of stressed and down about it, this really cheered me up. I love this movie. It’s the movie I watch when I’m down, the movie I watch when I’m bored, the movie I watch when in the world feels really annoying, and the movie I watch when I’m mad. It’s my go to movie for any situation. I’m so glad you guys enjoyed it. I like the first one, but this one brings me joy. I just love it. I love how it’s a fantasy, but it’s also kind of about growing up. And yes Time is amazing! I always like to think that this Alice is somehow supposed to be a creature of both our world and wonderland. I like to think that when she finishes her time here, Time will come and fetch her and let her live the rest of her life with her friends in wonderland. Thanks so much for doing this!
Look at that windmill breaking you can actually see that broken on the Alice on wonderland. Time broke it, such a clever idea.
Micheal Crawford was in a version of Alice In Wonderland called Alice's Adventures In Wonderland in 1972. For those who don't know he was the original Phantom of The Opera.
The visual of time being an ocean comes from a saying "The ocean of time"
29:05 you said you recognized the actor and you knew him from somewhere and you're totally right! You definitely could remember him from Hobbit, it's our one and only Thorin Oakenshield played by Richard Armitage!
Aww man, I'm going to miss this today because it's late for me 😴 (time zone). Look forward to seeing it tomorrow!! 🙂
I remember seeing Andrew Scott in the trailer and it was before ‘Fleabag’ blew up.
Ive just noriced, in the first movie hatter where telking alice about he anoyid time.
James: "Carrots don't even taste good!"
Me: 😱
The most controversial thing he's said yet! 😂
He isnt wrong.
Woooo, you reacted to the second one!! For a second I was worried that you wouldn't. I didn't expect it to come out so soon
I really love this one. The Weirdness is insane here ❤
The actors and actresses here are on point! I love them so much!!!
The whole time rust scene will always be one of my top favorite moments in any movie
The king is played by the guy who plays Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit movies
The Butler Robot is the Voice of Kermit The Frog
"Carrots don't even taste good!" 🤣 You've obviously never had a carrot fresh out of the ground. 💗
Congrats to 100,000!💖🎉 proud of you both ✨
Thank you so much!!!
I'm pretty sure the time line goes. Alice goes to Wonderland as a little girl, I'm pretty sure this happens in one of the books. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or some such. But of course it Traumatized her so bad especially her run in with the red queen that she Dreamed about her adventure over and over again, this was the first movie which was the animated movie. The dream she keeps having, it's references as a recurring thing at the beginning of the second movie which is the 2010 movie, and finally this one rounds them out. So they do in fact go in numerical sequence
The king is played by Richard Armintage, who played Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit.
I like how this is a movie about time that dies not shove the word time down your throat every few seconds. I am looking at you Spy Kids 4. I also like how it creates something unique within the world and making Time as a physical construct.
react to Corpse Bride please it has johnny depp in it. it's really good. PLEASE!!! especially since it's about to be october and my bday on the 29th lol.
They already have, you should check it out! And happy early bday!
A lot of people build other worlds in their dreams that when he said "who says wich is wich" about dreams and reality i really felt it.
I thank you guys very much for making this video as I missed the movie, I mean I did not see the movie at all. Hearing the whole movie was fantastic. I again thank you guys for this lovely video
The funniest part of the movie is Humpty Dumpty and the Looking Glass Scene.
24:34 as Olaf saidddd water has memory ( when I first watched this movie I thought of that )
This was Alan Rickman's final role before he passed away. R.I.P. to a legend.
42:37 my favorite joke in the movie, lmao
Congrats on 100K subs! Here's to many many more commentaries in the future!
'Alice Through the Looking Glass' is indeed a sequel novel to 'Alice in Wonderland'. Quite a few elements/characters are taken from the book and often put into versions of Wonderland, such as the Red and White Queens (Red Queen being a different character from the Queen of Hearts because the book is based on chess), the Tweedles and the Jabberwock. This movie has basically nothing to do with the book.
Another day of asking you guys to react to Speed Racer (2008), you guys will LOVE it in terms of artistic visual effects and stuff.
Edit: btw loved the alice in wonderland stuff
Queen of hearts has Hatters family in an Ant farm at the castle.
I'm reviewing the reaction for the fourth time😆👏💖,by the way, you didn't do a reaction to Maleficent, this is a movie too, and there is also Maleficent 2, if you like the first movie, you know what to do (but I'm not forcing you)
P.S-James, I LOVE YOU SMILE 😊💖
Movies just for you! Transformers 2007, The Love Bug 1968, Angry Birds 2016, Pixels 2015, Walking with Dinosaurs The Movie 2013, Rampage 2018, Space Jam 1996, Looney Tunes Back in Action 2003, Goosebumps 2015, Chicken Run 2000, Real Steel 2011 and Gnomeo and Juliet 2011!
Also TV Shows for you!
Dinotrux, Dinotrux Supercharged sequel, Lego Ninjago, SonicX, Transformers Prime, Camp Cretaceous, Max Steel, Batman The Brave and the Bold and Skylanders Academy!
James, the king's actor is Thorin Oakenshield from the Hobbit!!!!
If no one commented it yet, the actor of the king, the father of Iracabeth and Mirana, is Thorin.
23:04 "ew" LMAOOOOOOO that was so cute
I really like these movies and especially this one. I also like the books and how they used them as source material but made something new.
This was the last role Alan Rickman did before his passing. R.I.P. thank you for the reactions that respect the imagination in all of us. and congratulations to 100k subs. xx
48:15 - From here I started to get emotional and started crying, like, you wondered if it never worked out.
AYOOO CONGRATS ON HITTING 100k!!!!
The king where you’ve recognised is Thorin from The Hobbit, loved Helena Bonham Carter in this one, although my favourite of hers is Fight Club
I love both of the Alice in wonderland movies 🍿👍❤️🔥
In fact, the whole idea of this movie is based on a moment from the first book. During the Mad Tea Party, Hatter states that he was invited to take part in a concert (twinkle, twinkle, little bat, how I wonder what you're at...), but the Queen of Hearts accused him of "killing time", and Time (he, not it) got offended at him for this. Shocking, really, how one tiny story may develop
O my god !!!! 😂😂😂😂 Earthquake haha ha ha !!!!!
And I’m crying
Honestly this is so much better than other live action movies like The Jungle Book, Lion King, Aladdin
Congratulations on completing 100k subscribers.
40:00 she know how to tie a knot around her waist but you mean a rope or a string maybe
42:38 Helena as Red Queen is my favorite
I love the queen of hearts she was always my favorite character ♥️
I always think that hatter and Alice has this wired romantic thing going on even though there friends but it’s obviously noticeable something could happen
This was hilarious and sad. Y'all roasting my regal red queen of mean like that 🤣. I would so screw around with time, take back all the unknown damage I caused myself becoming a coffee fiend 👉👈😁
Congrats on 100k subs!!!!! 👍🎉😊
If you like this try Terry Pratchett's Hogfathers
Oh I LOVE Hogfather! One of my favorites during the holidays.😊🎄
I like this one more. I really like Time.
I enjoyed watching this sequel.
oh jesus christ, i never noticed before while watching this. but the hatters make up makes his eyes look like teeth closing and opening
I wasn't really a fan of this film, but I enjoy it for the cast alone. I wish Tim Burton had returned to direct it. Maybe he and Linda could've came up with a more fun vision together.
Alice In Wonderland Is The First Book. And Thought The Lookglass Is The Sequal.😱🤗👸🐇🐱
Congrats for 100k subs!
While I found this one interesting in some ways, and was surprised that I actually liked SBC's performance in it, as typically I'm not a fan of his due to his dumb Borat type stuff. And btw....he is also great though as the voice of- King Julian the Ring tailed Lemur we love lol.
James have you ever done any Kevin Costner movies on your channel
47:01 Imagine you're casually lecturing your children and then a lady comes out of nowhere yelling and turns into stone 😂
First one is Masterpiece. The next one is... Mhm...
Am I the only one who was looking at Hatters middle finger in the last scene!
42:38 no ofence, but what is with you guys laughter?😂
The Hatter did say time was offended over tea last film. Never thought it would play out as it did. I still have my own problems with this movie but it’s a very fun. The concepts are great tho execution can be an issues.
I almost screamed when I saw Andrew Scott
