Ford Energi Not Charging / Wrench Light Fix

- Опубліковано 21 гру 2021
- In this video, I address a charing issue and warning light on a Ford C-Max Energi. I found the air inlet for the battery charger mostly clogged, causing the charger to overheat and stop charging. Fortunately it was a simple and straightforward fix, anyone with basic tools and vehicle knowledge can perform this repair.

Any follow-up from your customer to confirm if this actually fixed the issue permanently?
I wonder if it fix it!!!
Love the lift! That is what I need but for a DIYer, probably more than I want to spend at the moment. Maybe when my channel gets bigger! Your repair was a good call! These electric cars are going to have a whole set of special issues Daniel.
daniel hi!! I bought the controls (cruise control) on the steering wheel of a 1997 explorer but the horn does not work. just replace the controls without the harness. does everything have to change?
Hi Daniel, I really need your input. I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze and It has been leaking a little oil for a while but just recently I got a PO0299 code, meaning my turbo. And just yesterday i was driving up a hill then all of a sudden almost up the hill i was pushing the gas and then my speedometer went down and then i saw clouds of smoke. My car turns on and it’s able to be moved but Just endless smoke out the exhaust. I saw your video but I’m also seeing comments about a valve cover gasket. Any Help? Please.
how did you get the screen out, it looks like an impossible task via wheel well
Good Fix!
What is your car lift?
My Honda Accord v6 2008 have oil leaks, how do I fix it?
New sub awesome video 100%👌🏼
Did it work?
Can you give us the step by step directions removing the screen to clean it better than vacuuming it.
Bit of a shitty design decisions on the where the intake is located for the charger.
I would have placed it in a accessible area for the driver
Yeah, that charger must be caked in dirt internally. Maybe Ford should engineer a replaceable paper filter for the inlet of the charger and hybrid batteries.
You'll only get about 19 miles per charge on a Cmax........
This is mostly true. It really depends on whether you're using heat and what the temperature outside is. Sometimes it's even less. That said, it's still a great car for running around locally and also if you leave the house with a full charge in your driving along distance with the engine cycling on and off. I've gotten this high as 60 miles per gallon out of the thing with no problem.
👍
Why is the video cut off? Did it fix the issue?
Exactly what were the results, I don't want to tear stuff apart if that doesn't work did you get good results
No, I’m afraid it didn’t do a thing. I paid an auto shop $95.00 to clean it like new but no increase in battery performance at all.
Why did you not show the next morning you ended the video before knowing so maybe it did not charge???
Opinion on 2011 thru 2014 f150 6.2
6.2 in an f150 raptor. 99.9% of those trucks were driven hard and abused daily. Just like buying a truck from a teenager.
Great engine. FordTechMakuloco said that he would rarely see those in the shop, meaning it’s a good engine.
Also, the 6.2 was offered as an option non-Raptor F150s from 2011-14.
@@stus1171 heck yea thanks bro
@@stus1171 it’s a simple rugged engine meant for the super duty’s so it’s not working to hard in a f150. I think they were only available in the raptor and platinum/limited as a option
2017 Toyota Sienna

Guys Daniel car was broken and not working
Well, I tried this “fix” and since I’m disabled I paid a repair shop $95.00 to clean the screen. I have to admit it was dirty and cleaned up really nice because the repair shop followed the video. Unfortunately it didn’t make a bit of difference 😔. I was really hoping it would work but it didn’t! Probably didn’t hurt to clean it but I’m still only getting a 10 mile charge on the battery. Sorry, now I have no idea what to do 😩
I'm having the same problem. My 2014 cmax only charges to 89% and gets me 6 miles ev
@@savingsarah9456 frustrating isn't it! I had that screen cleaned and it does seem to give a little more m.p.g.e. And now I don't worry about the battery overheating. It really didn't do much. All we can do is replace it but that's not financially viable.
Ford needs to step up!
Change "charing" to "charging."
It was charing before the fix with the overheating.
10 miles at best on this car in EV only
Me too😢
I get less more like 7
