I had a migraine at the beginning of this video, so I apologize for any weirdness- migraines are something I'm used to working through, but they can affect me in strange ways.

As someone who has also been nerding out hard on japanese art supplies... I'm so excited for you to try these out! I almost feel like the supplies are works of art in themselves, lol.

I’ve heard the fusion brushes are great for mixed media! I can’t wait to see how they handle watercolor. And I’m loooking forward to seeing those kits in action! Completely agree with you that including some paper with the Sumi kit would make it so much better!

Love that someone sent you goodies - you deserve it!! Wish Yasutomo was more available in Europe but it's a US brand and harder to find here, sadly. Love their mineral paper and silverpoint pens (though super annoying that finding replacement "nibs" is so difficult here)! Super curious about their other products. They seem to put a lot of care into their manufacturing - showing their Japanese heritage to the full! :)

Hullo Becca, thank you for sharing this bountiful gift from Yatsutomo! I like the brushes and the Gansai paint kit is the favorite item I am looking forward to seeing you create a project for your channel. I have worked on lettering with brushes and I did struggle with the inks and rice paper! I am glad that you are doing a series of videos on these products!

Thanks for reminding me about that anime (mentioned by you in manga form)! It was a super relaxing watch. And, of course for sharing all the cool supplies you received. I'm looking forward to the art you make with them. Migraines are so awful! Thanks for powering through them for us. :)

Metalpoint is my jam! In addition to mineral paper you can get vegan silverpoint ground from Golden. Comes in an 8 ounce bottle. Shake it until you hear the mixing ball rattling around then paint it on your surface like gesso. You can also use the Golden acrylic ink to tint the mixture. I like to do about half the pages in a sketchbook I carry around with me. I have several silverpoint ‘pencils’ in mechanical pencil holders. I also have a n Altoids box with an old brass key, a well worn silver dollar and other bits of metal which have passed the mark making abilities. Metalpoint is a slow deliberate process which I find meditative. I did not know Yasutomo did silverpoint. Thank you!

I love Yasutomo. I feel sad when I hear Americans referring to all gansai as Kuretake.

I know that you have been doing this for a long time and you are quite good at creating content. I know that you must talk with your hands, but when your hand moves close to the camera the video goes out of focus and in focus. It make me a little dizzy. I truly do not mean this as snarky comment, and more as help! Becca, please keep up the great work!

It’s great showing us all these products, but all your hand waving is distracting and giving me a headache. If you could just not wave around so much, it’d be a lot better.
