    I figured on giving Track & Field another spin after watching your video this morning, and the following tidbit still holds true... I stink just as bad at the game now as I did in '83. That is all!

    Excellent video Greg! One tip that I would suggest and I'm sure you'll agree, is making frequent backups of your sd card in the event it should ever fail. Especially with all the tweaks and fine-tuning involved, post-install.

    I just thought everyone should know if you want your ~ key to work properly you just have to go to your raspi config and set your keyboard to a US keyboard. Once this is set you can use all the keys on your keyboard as intended.

    my favorite themes so far are Zoid and Tronkyfran. I also noticed you can leave off the "~/" and just type "sudo RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh" instead and it will work just fine. I'm also a fan of scraping videos instead of screen shots. seems like a better preview.

    Use localization options to change the keyboard from GB_UTF8 to US_UTF8. That will make the keyboard map correctly.

  • @slappymcphee
    @slappymcphee 5 років тому +1

    the reason why the tilde key doesn't work with the stock install is because you need to choose your keyboard layout and your localization. it is set for fucking UK because retropie is from the UK rather than them bothering to set to it a universal generic keyboard

  • @paulwheeler2996
    @paulwheeler2996 3 роки тому +1

    On the subject of the keys being wrong, the raspberry pi comes set on UK keyboard by default. you can change it to US layout in the raspi-config utility.

    I use 1280x1024 resolution on mine. It's apparently the native resolution of the screens used in Arcade1up. Looks pretty damn good to me.

    • @GregsGameRoom
      @GregsGameRoom  5 років тому

      Is that the 5:4 or 4:3? I think 4:3 looks better but it’s everyone’s personal preference I suppose...

    • @chamoo232
      @chamoo232 5 років тому +1

      @@GregsGameRoom 5:4. I end up with a little black bar at the top and bottom on any game that are 4:3 but the menu works perfectly fine. The Arcade1up screen is actually 5:4 so it make sense to use the 5:4 resolution even if the games are in different format. Retropie will do the scaling properly without stretching anything.

  • @rockojulian6281

    So what do you do when you get this error when you try scraping?
    " warning: some of your selected systems do not have a platform set. results maybe even more inaccurate than usual! continue anyway?"
    I've tried everything I can find and nothing is working. The closest I could get was the Skyscraper setup tutorial that ETA Prime had, but I couldn't get the results to show in EmulationStation afterwards.

  • @mbhaskins
    @mbhaskins 4 роки тому +1

    What am I doing wrong? I followed the vector instructions to a tee, but the Asteroids screen is zoomed in so only about an 8th of the playfield is shown on the entire screen.

    • @mbhaskins
      @mbhaskins 4 роки тому

      I think the problem is a configuration override. In the lower left of the screen when I load an impacted game it says "configuration override loaded." Not sure if that refers to the changes I made to the .cfg file or an override elsewhere, but for some reason I can't get the results shown in the video. Incidentally I'm using the Wolfanoz/Hursty image, so there must be something in that causing my changes to be overridden.

    Hi there! Thanks for your vid... but I'm desperate on finding a solution to the problem: Favorites not saving, they're lost after a reboot.... and, no clue why! Any clues? TIA :-) (options like save on exit are set ON... ) Having that issue on the DAMASO (128gb) image...TIA :-)

    • @GregsGameRoom

    • @homevid
      @homevid 4 роки тому +1

      @@GregsGameRoom thanks for your answer... but no, I always go through the menu POWER - shutdown. The options save on exit are enabled. I'm startting to ask myself if there isn't a problem with the 'rights' of the file... When I manually add true into the gamelist.xml located on the rom folder, the game remains in the favorites... but hitting the "Y" button doesn't seem to affect this xml file (but strangely appears/disappears in the favorites, until reboot....). I really digged deep into the subject, still lost...

After I played a handful of games I was unable to continue playing new ones as it said there was no space left on the device. Can I delete from the arcade 1up or do I have to plug the sd card into my computer?
