Loved The Jam love ftj. Love foxton & hastings. Bruce was my hero as a young teenager, loved everything about him. Met him a couple of times, they say never meet your heroes, but i wasnt disapointed.😊
Great interview I’m now at the age where I really enjoy listening to Bruce talking ❤and to be fair to Bruce he didn’t get the opportunity or maybe the time to write more songs 😎in other words great songwriter given enough time
Great interview. I've always been sad Bruce was never asked to join the Who.i got butterfly on vinyl.. love to cover reminds me of a jam bootleg used to have btw i live in rural Somerset and last week heard a random conversation with the driver of a bus i was on and turned out this lady called julie is best mates with paul wellers mum as well as Rick Parfitts ! She actually told her the sad news about Rick . Small world ...
@Choose80s gave her my number but never heard lol shame I wanted to tell her I met Paul in a pub once and even ended up in the times newspaper as I was photographed by Caitlin Moran at the front at Glastonbury! I even met Bruce at an SLF concert when I was really young . Id hitched to the venue as this lady on my course knew him to introduce me . Written in the stars...I've still got wellers signed drumstick I caught in the crowd !
Yeah the jam are such an awesome band! They represent exactly what kick arse british punk music is all about, I would put them up there as my top 5 favourite punk bands as well as The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Undertones and The Ramones
One more point. How on earth can DC Lee have not heard of the jam when she met Paul in 1983? She has maintained for the last 40 years that when she met Paul originally she had never heard of the jam. This seems incredibly implausible if Bruce played bass on Wham rap because she was a member of Wham and if Bruce and George were friends then Dee being a friend of George as she was in the same band, she must surely have known that Bruce was in a band called the jam so sorry but somebody is telling pork pies!
'Tell Russell that' . Why? Russell didn't write it. Completely wrong about Wham Rap too. Bruce did not play on it. He did play on a George demo that never saw the light of day

Great interview ! Bruce is a fantastic player, and his vocal harmonies really helped put The Jam so far ahead of most bands back then. Cheers.

I saw From the Jam in Aberdeen in the Music Hall Yesterday They were Fantastic and Bruce came on at the end and thanked everyone a very nice guy

Did Bruce used to live in Hebden Bridge, I used to see a guy who looked his spitting double drinking in The Upper George Hotel in Halifax?
Ooh no idea! We’ll have to ask him next time 👍 Thanks for watching 😊
Depressing
