The whole video worked out great other than the last part of actually removing the door off the frame (it was stuck on the top part). Disconnecting the door clip by clip was fairly easy, but took some extra force to remove the last part at the top. Also, the metal rod that connects to the new handle on the inside of the door was tricky to connect for a second, but I was able to figure it out and connect it in the end. This video was an enormous help. Thanks
I had put a search in for the repair of my '89 Pathfinder door handle and got your video which doesn't list the years that you're replacing on....so yes I now see that your linkage inside the door is different from mine, here's a pic of mine off of ebay image.png See the yellow piece...it has to be fitted around the actuating rod after bending it almost in half, so it acts as a slip-proof connection, then inserted into the hole in the latch handle where the hole is.....it's very difficult to ghet it all lined up but I've done four of them so far and I'm getting better at it every time. The first time this happened to me, I took it to a mechanic and it took him 2 hours to get it right. Thanks for the video anyway it is instructive for those who have that year(whichever year it is) and your reply. If you ever get an '889 PF and need a handle, email me and I'll help you out LOL, Yours Ken M
Hey Tony I have I a question, so I have a D21 1994 as well though there is a problem with the steering wheel, I have tried to put the horn cover back on the steering wheel though it seems to not fit, but it is its original one, can you help me out?
You appear to have glossed over the most difficult part of the replacement....the actual threading of the mechanism on the car side into the little round hole on the little plastic piece (mine's white, but some are yellow) that is inserted into the door handle part.....I got so frustrated that I took it to an auto shop and it took the professional about an hour to get it back together! Any brilliant ideas about how to make THAT part easier and less frustrating?
Interesting. I have done it several times (because I tried gluing it a couple times before replacing) and never had a problem with that part. The way you describe it sounds different so maybe you have a slightly different door. Yeah I had no idea the video would get that many views either.
@@zetreque is there any place you can order that specific part that you guys are talking about? I can't find mine in the door panel anywhere except what looks like a broken piece of white plastic. Any help would be appreciated!
Seems like this is the part I'm missing. @@JonEngle I can't find any pictures of it but there is a plastic clip that folds over the rod to lock it. I'd look around or ask on the forum I mentioned in the other reply to you.
sorry Jonathan, that part didn't seem that difficult to me so I didn't film it. I can understand if you need a visual though. I have heard those clips holding it do break.
At the least please add EXACTLY what model and year you are working on. Even better, research and tell us all of the models / years the replacement handle you bought fits.

I just saw how many views this video got.....I didn't know there were that many broken door handles out there.....Thanks from all of us!

If you think that those door handles suck you should see the chrome plastic ones that are only good for about a month before they break again
That sucks. Mine are working great ever since I put them on.

Skips over the part where you assemble the handle and setting it with the actuator. That's what I want to see

Mine keep braking cuz its plastic underneath. Anyone know where can get a metal or stronger
Dude, stop molesting the door handles. You can get arrested for that shit. Other than that good stuff.

91 nissan but they are pretty standard across most years.
