The onsen was like something out of a Studio Ghibli film. 🤩😍 But, yeah, that snow was pretty intense. Your bus driver was a legend! Domo arigato for sharing this trip with us. Definitely a trip you will remember forever. ❤️❤️😎👍xx

I was born in Aomori, and we just went back there for the first time since I was born and man the snow is insane!! We also drove to Lake Towada and driving on those snowy roads really makes you an expert driver. Great series, guys! ✌

We here in North Wales can sort of relate to the snow. I say snow in a loose kind of way 😁. There was an inch last night and a few flurries today. And soooo cold, - 1 😂. But I soldiered on 😂. Anyway. Can't believe the weather contrast and no bear growling at you in Tokyo 🐻😁. Brilliant content especially the hot springs experience. Your journey was well worth it. I can't believe we didn't see Frosty . It must be rough dealing with wet clothes in such a small van . The snow is always beautiful . I just prefer to look at it out a window . So now I learned that a woman's natural furnace gets hot enough to melt snow through clothes . Who knew ?
Alen's a Beast; I can't believe how well he coped with those weather conditions. Keely trying to run in the snow was hilarious. What a fabulous, magical adventure, and I get to watch it from the warmth of my van Marge. I've loved every moment, so thank you for taking us all along with you. Oh, and brilliant editing and music. I see you only went to northern tip of Honshu! I thought that when you mentioned you were gong to north Japan, you would go to Hokkaido. Nice snow but not as deep as some places here (Canada)!😮
Sadly we didn't have enough time on our trip to get all the way to Hokkaido, so most northern part of mainland Japan was the goal ❤️🇯🇵 We hope to come back some day soon to do Hokkaido and Southern Japan and the islands 🥰🥰 So much more to see!

OMG, that was incredible, how did you survive camping in that weather, how did Alen drive through all that snow!!! That's trip of a lifetime stuff right there; you will remember this trip when you are old for sure. The hot springs are amazing and so cheap, so much for Japan being expensive. I'm a bit older than you guys and I can remember snow like that in the North of England was not uncommon when I was a kid, but climate change and all that... My thoughts with you in Ireland though, see you for the next chapter soon.

Sorry if I missed it, but I'm curious roughly how much did it cost to hire the campervan? I would love to vanlife in Japan. That snow up North was amazing.
Camper rental is from around £50-£100 per day in Japan, dependent on the van & company. Campervan rental seems expensive everywhere these days so best to compare it to average price of accomodation and transport etc and eating out Vs cooking in. We think it works out similar but gives you more freedom to hotel and trains. Definitely recommend it as a way to explore the country, so special. You need to have an international driving licence if from UK/America etc so something to be aware of in advance.

I can't believe we didn't see Frosty . It must be rough dealing with wet clothes in such a small van . The snow is always beautiful . I just prefer to look at it out a window . So now I learned that a woman's natural furnace gets hot enough to melt snow through clothes . Who knew ?
Now you know 🫠🤣 thankfully the long drives mean we dry clothes on the dashboard from heater
Alen's a Beast; I can't believe how well he coped with those weather conditions. Keely trying to run in the snow was hilarious. I see you only went to northern tip of Honshu! I thought that when you mentioned you were gong to north Japan, you would go to Hokkaido. Nice snow but not as deep as some places here (Canada)!😮
Sadly we didn't have enough time on our trip to get all the way to Hokkaido, so most northern part of mainland Japan was the goal ❤️🇯🇵 We hope to come back some day soon to do Hokkaido and Southern Japan and the islands 🥰🥰 So much more to see!

OMG, that was incredible, how did you survive camping in that weather, how did Alen drive through all that snow!!! That's trip of a lifetime stuff right there; you will remember this trip when you are old for sure. The hot springs are amazing and so cheap, so much for Japan being expensive. I'm a bit older than you guys and I can remember snow like that in the North of England was not uncommon when I was a kid, but climate change and all that... My thoughts with you in Ireland though, see you for the next chapter soon.

Sorry if I missed it, but I'm curious roughly how much did it cost to hire the campervan? I would love to vanlife in Japan. That snow up North was amazing.
Camper rental is from around £50-£100 per day in Japan, dependent on the van & company. Campervan rental seems expensive everywhere these days so best to compare it to average price of accomodation and transport etc and eating out Vs cooking in. We think it works out similar but gives you more freedom to hotel and trains. Definitely recommend it as a way to explore the country, so special. You need to have an international driving licence if from UK/America etc so something to be aware of in advance.

The onsen right at the top was 'Lamp no Yado Aoni Onsen' it was so beautiful. Northern Japan feels so untouched, well worth the visit

🤣🤣 bought gloves for the cold, but when they get wet in the snow it's gross to put back on. Need to get those water proof ones next time, would be much better for snow lol
