I got into bourbon just a few months ago. I dove headfirst by building my collection and watched so many different channels. You guys have been my favorite channel and I’ve learned so much from y’all. Thank you for treating your viewers as family!
you and I both 😂 if I start a hobby, I usually jump in the deep end. I’ll also do an insane amount of research haha. What have you started your collection with?? I started with Knob Creek 9, Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses Small Batch since I’ve got into bourbon two months ago. Also started smoking cigars around the same time.
I've been working on an "Infinity Barrel" for the past 2.5 years. Been blending my favorites out of the bottle into a 20L charred oak cask. Getting ready to bottle it soon and may have to send one to you guys! Thanks for putting me in the Patreon credits!
I have started an "Infinity" bottle as well and also using my Blanton's bottle. I have been adding the first pour of every new bottle opened instead of the last pour with exception to using the final pour of my Blanton's. Interested to see how it shapes up over time. As I type this, now I wonder if I should start 2 more Infinity bottles, 1 with the first pour and 1 with the final pour and see how those differ from each. Great show and best of luck in 2023.
I like that idea of doing the first pour as that is usually my least favor, I had never heard about the "neck pours" sometimes not being as good as after the opens up a bit. So I think this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing
@@ronniewillet710 The packaging and presentation is top notch. The bourbon? Good to very good seeing it's a single barrel, the one thing about Blantons is usually you get a consistent flavor profile and mouth feel, which is hard to do. However there are many better bargains in the single barrel market just as good if not better for half or less. Cheers and good luck.
First of all, congratulations on 90K! Secondly, the father-son relationship rocks! Dad loves his Scotch and son loves his rye and you both give little jabs at this for fun. This proves you have a great relationship and I believe this is one of the biggest reasons you guys a cracking it!! I’ve enjoyed all your videos I’ve watched so far!! Keep up the fabulous work! Happy New Year Kurt and Trent. Congratulations on 90K and climbing. Well-deserved. Love the infinity bottle video. I'm not yet at the point in my journey where I have an infinity bottle started, but that day is coming. Looking forward to it. Keep up the good work and great content.

I got into bourbon last year and started an infinity bottle with every bottle I try and it’s almost done can’t wait to try it. love the content wishing SLB fam success and blessings this 2023!!!
My personal method of making a infinity bottle is when I open a new bottle of something good I put 2 shots of it into a bottle I’ve emptied that has a good tight cork fit. I log on a piece of paper each entry until it’s full. Then save it for the holidays. I just finished my first one for 2023 and may have it for either Valentines Day or St. Patrick’s Day. Already started another one. Usually have 4-6 a year. They’re all been good. Some better than others but none have been bad. 😊😎👍❤️
Great and helpful video guys! My infinity bottle is much more deliberate, and it started with an EH Taylor Barrel Proof bottle with 3oz left. I only add the very best new bourbons I purchase and love. But I am wary of finished bourbons and ryes, as if overdone could damage (overpower) the flavor. I think it helps to try to keep the proof in the range I love (107-120), and avoid anything too young or too oaky. Also, these are all fresh pours, I FINISH what is in my glass!
I literally just yesterday put a few ounces of Four Roses Small Batch Select, Russell's Reserve 10 year, Larceny Small Batch, and Elijah Craig Small Batch in an almost empty Blantons bottle. Such a great idea.
90K is a testament to you guys. Simple, honest and fun. That makes it easy to watch and is enjoyable. My son-in-law helped me do a tasting Christmas Day as I was very skeptical of all these tubers saying all those descriptive terms for what a bourbon tastes like. I hadn't gotten any hints of anything until he set out 3 different bourbons and we tasted them. I finally found a difference and it was amazing. I only had 3 at that time ... Knob Creek single barrel select (gift) and Jack Daniels 150th anniversary edition we picked up several years ago at the distillery in Lynchburg, and Woodford Reserve distillers select Kentucky straight wheat whiskey. I was able to make out differences for each one. Now mind you there were only 3 but I had him switch them around and I got 2 of them right so the 3rd was a no brainer which one it was. I was blown away and now I have a bit more respect for y'all. Now I have 15 or so from your recommendations and my mavin research. Thank you! Happy New Year from DFW Texas.

I have two infinity bottles, started as an experiment. One is all bourbons under $50 and one is all bourbons over $50. Both are amazing to drink. Just picked up my first bottle of Blantons today. Walked into a gas station today by my house and saw one behind the counter. Got it for $100. Not sure if I will ever get another one for this price, but my first one was worth it.
You guys have opened up the world to actually savoring the taste of each whiskey I choose to drink. Its a knowledgeable and informative channel guys. Keep up the good work
Congratulations on your growing success in 2022. Good luck and good health in 2023. My Infinity bottle is a 2L charred oak barrel. Will be interesting to see what additional char does to the flavors.
I use an old willet pot still bottle and use it to decant left over budget bonded and over proof bourbon. So far I have Benchmark BIB, Evan Williams BIB, Old granddaddy BIB, JTS BIB, and Wild turkey 101. It's an amazing amalgamation 😮
Good video per usual. A few things I would add though. It was good advice from Daniel over at the Whiskey Vault, which is: If you put quality in, you're more likely to get quality out. I you put cheap stuff, or stuff you really don't like into your infinity bottle, it isn't likely to become better. Of course, you don't have to drain pour bad bottles, you could create a separate cheap cocktail infinity bottle for those occasions where folks are going to cover up the flavor so they don't care (e.g. drinks w/ soda or other sweet flavors, tailgates, etc.). I also have a Scotch one. But you may need two if you use Islays, because they take over a bottle. BTW, of course I have a Blanton's bottle for my bourbon infinity bottle. (Of course Old Fitz bottles would be good, if you could get them...I take the labels off). But second place? You guessed it, Hibiki Harmony bottles! (Bladnoch bottles get honorable mention.)
Your infinity bottle looks like a success and you can't beat a Blanton's bottle for presentation! I'm working on mine with a little of everything in it. Even some Scotch, Irish whiskey and 100% corn whiskey. We'll see what happens!
Dang you Kurt!!! so had to go and pick up that infinity app.... took me about 1-1/2 hours to input all my whiskeys..... I hope you have to do the same!! HAHAH. Now I have a spread sheet, a random wheel, and this infinity bottle app.... who knew this whiskey hobby would turn into a tech junky thing... well, I am a nerd, so it was bound to happen.... cheers fellas, and Happy New Year!!!

Would region based infinity bottles be a good idea? Like, have one for Japanese Whiskeys, then one for American Bourbons, Scottish Malts, etc.? Thanks guys
my inifity bottle is 4 years old and has a few dozen bottles blended together. very few repeats. when i fill it i drink it 1/4 the way down and start to fill it up.
I used Castle and Key as my Infinity bottle. Best piece of glass ever so once I choked down the Sub par Juice, I recycled the glass for the Infinity Bottle!!!
It’s just like home made Chinese fried rice. After holidays, we have a lot of leftovers and then mixed them up in the wok and made delicious fried rice. Everyone loves it.😂
I'm always either savoring a bottle till the last drop or if I'm not a huge fan I'm trying to find ways to use it up - never have found a good reason to do one personally but it's cool that you guys make it up with what you drink during the shows!
@slb have you ever heard of infinity barrel. I see small barrel 2 gal or so and wonder if there are do and don't when blending in a barrel to further age
I have 2 Infinity bottles at this time. One is bourbon and the other is scotch. The scotch bottle is quite nice with the different styles blended together.
Great idea, I have so many bottles with like 1 pour left in them cuz I can’t bring myself to kill them. Now they shall live on in a blend for infinity! 😁
Congratulations on the 90K subscribers! Love your videos! Question for you not involving infinity bottles. A couple of weeks ago I opened a bottle of Makers46. I thought it tasted good, I could taste some of the different flavors. I had a drink of it Friday night and it didn't taste like the same bottle. Very! light flavors but a lot of bite on the end. I'll use it in mixes but I doubt that I'll buy another. Have you ever had this happen with any bourbon? Would the screw on cap instead of a cork effect this? Keep up the great work! TonyB
Who leaves bourbon in a glass? Lol. The infinity bottle app is awesome. I started mine 9/21 with the last 2-3 ounces of certain bottles. I currently have 14 unique bourbons and 25 ounces with a 103.0 proof. Highly recommend the app. Great videos, keep up the good work.
I’m looking at using empty Bardstown Bourbon bottles for future infinity use. The patterns printed on the back are really cool. For my current infinity bottle, I have a decanter, I pour my nearly dead bottles in to.
I haven't started an infinity bottle and I'm not sure why. I keep most of my old bottles and put a little string of lights inside and use them outside for decorative lighting. Works great. I also save the tops like wine people save corks and I put them in an old Bookers box. I'm about out of one of my Rabbit Hole bottles and I really like those. Think I'll start with that. Nice video, guys.
I have been watching you guys for the past month or so, subscribed and just joined Patreon. You guys are great and I learned so much. I am excited for the “mystery” bottle I won on your live show the other day!! Thanks and keep it up.
I have one as well. Love the app idea too! May have to start a new one and start logging my additions to the app. No clue what’s in the one I have now… 🤔🤨😂 I assume you don’t separate wheaters from rye, from bourbon, whiskey… etc. that may be even an interesting approach. Separate IBs for each style. 🤔
I recently bought a nice bottle to put to use for my own infinity blend, so I appreciate hearing about the app. I'm looking forward to enjoying what I create. Your infinity blend sounds fantastic!
I have one of the infinity bottles from Kurt and it’s great! I Don’t hesitate to drink it at all. Thanks guys. Also, congrats on the year. Well deserved.
Add the first oz right after a cork pop of a new bottle that way you have the exact amount of each bottle with its original proof and it will not gross out anyone.
This may be a stupid question as Im new to bourbon. Ive read that once opened, bourbon usually only lasts about 6 months before going bad, but I regularly see videos like yours with huge displays of opened bottles. How do you keep track? When you open something rare, how long do you keep it for?
The infinity bottle is a cool idea. I don't drink. If I have a shot or a bourbon drink ... It's 2 or 3 times a year. It'll take a long while to get that IB filled up! Now that I have started a bourbon collection... I may be sipping more often. Lol
Oh, and I've read that Bourbon (whiskey) kills germs, so the fear of drinking behind someone should be somewhat diminished, as there's no "cooties' to pass along lmao!!
I'd never heard of infinity bottles before. Might have to start doing one instead of just emptying the bottle into my glass and then emptying the glass into my facehole. Angel's Envy bottles are beautiful (and I like their bourbon) so I'll probably use the next one of those I buy
Interesting and informative video (as always). Wow....there is so much good bourbon in your infinity bottle. I just started one myself and will just use a spreadsheet. Here's to an amazing 2023. I am sure you will hit 100k very soon.
Just getting into bourbon over the last 6 months and picked up a bottle of Noah’s Mill. I haven’t opened it and am curious if your thoughts. Have you done a review of it? Love the videos. Keep it up.
So, I'm a day late with my comment... However my infinity bottle is composed of products from Wild Turkey/Russell's Reserve... The decanter is slightly over the typical 750ml, when I started I used 1/4 cup pours... Now I just pour. Very tasty!!
For my infinity bottle, I only put in 100ml and take out 50ml. That way I can track the ABV in Excel. It stays around 50%ABV, which is a good sweet spot, IMO.
Well, when I get down to an ounce or 2 left in a bottle, I just drink it. I guess I'm a living infinity bottle. 😛

Happy New Year!
I’m looking at using empty Bardstown Bourbon bottles for future infinity use. The patterns printed on the back are really cool. For my current infinity bottle, I have a decanter, I pour my nearly dead bottles in to.
I have never heard of doing this! I was a little turned off at the beginning of video, but now I have a new 2023 bourbon goal.
I put the first 2 ounces of a new bottle in mine. Its labelled Johnnie Walker Bourbon cause its a blend.
90 k wow im blown away!Congratulations gentlemen you deserve it. What a cool video and idea! That app sounds neat too cheers guys🥃🥃
Been quite a ride! Thanks for being with us on the journey!
@@slbdrinks my pleasure bud
Yeah buddy! Happy new year’s keep ‘em coming guys .
Does not sound sanitary. What about backwash?
I haven't started an infinity bottle and I'm not sure why. I keep most of my old bottles and put a little string of lights inside and use them outside for decorative lighting. Works great. I also save the tops like wine people save corks and I put them in an old Bookers box. I'm about out of one of my Rabbit Hole bottles and I really like those. Think I'll start with that. Nice video, guys.
Good ideas for the empties!
Backwash included?
Never! Lol
I have been watching you guys for the past month or so, subscribed and just joined Patreon. You guys are great and I learned so much. I am excited for the “mystery” bottle I won on your live show the other day!! Thanks and keep it up.
Hey alright! Congrats!
I have one as well. Love the app idea too! May have to start a new one and start logging my additions to the app. No clue what’s in the one I have now… 🤔🤨😂
I assume you don’t separate wheaters from rye, from bourbon, whiskey… etc. that may be even an interesting approach. Separate IBs for each style. 🤔
I recently bought a nice bottle to put to use for my own infinity blend, so I appreciate hearing about the app. I'm looking forward to enjoying what I create. Your infinity blend sounds fantastic!
I would love to see you guys review Kentucky Par. I'm curious about what you think about this "new old' release.
Yup, I love mine. Most people love my home blend better then the pure bourbons that went into the infinity bottle 😊
I have one of the infinity bottles from Kurt and it’s great! I Don’t hesitate to drink it at all. Thanks guys. Also, congrats on the year. Well deserved.
Appreciate all you do!
Another great show - thank you!
Have you guys tried cooper’s craft 100 proof. Curious on y’all’s thoughts on it
We have and it’s very good for its price range.
Add the first oz right after a cork pop of a new bottle that way you have the exact amount of each bottle with its original proof and it will not gross out anyone.
Great idea!
I just created my first infinity bottle yesterday
This may be a stupid question as Im new to bourbon. Ive read that once opened, bourbon usually only lasts about 6 months before going bad, but I regularly see videos like yours with huge displays of opened bottles. How do you keep track? When you open something rare, how long do you keep it for?
It's good for years after you open it
If you keep it stored in a cool area away from direct sunlight it will last a long time.
Tks for sharing guys good health and much success in 2023
So glad to be apart of the slb community
We’re glad you are here!
Happy New Year 🇺🇲
The infinity bottle is a cool idea. I don't drink. If I have a shot or a bourbon drink ... It's 2 or 3 times a year. It'll take a long while to get that IB filled up! Now that I have started a bourbon collection... I may be sipping more often. Lol
Can't wait to see what you guys will showcase in '23. Happy New Year.
awesome video guys! Happy New Year!
Cheers to 2023 SLB crew
Great video as always boys! Happy New Year!
Happy new Years you guys! I'm looking forward to a year's worth of learning from you!
Oh, and I've read that Bourbon (whiskey) kills germs, so the fear of drinking behind someone should be somewhat diminished, as there's no "cooties' to pass along lmao!!
😂
I'd never heard of infinity bottles before. Might have to start doing one instead of just emptying the bottle into my glass and then emptying the glass into my facehole. Angel's Envy bottles are beautiful (and I like their bourbon) so I'll probably use the next one of those I buy
Interesting and informative video (as always). Wow....there is so much good bourbon in your infinity bottle. I just started one myself and will just use a spreadsheet. Here's to an amazing 2023. I am sure you will hit 100k very soon.
Thanks Don!
Just getting into bourbon over the last 6 months and picked up a bottle of Noah’s Mill. I haven’t opened it and am curious if your thoughts. Have you done a review of it? Love the videos. Keep it up.
No reviews but I do have a bottle. I think it’s a good respectable bourbon.
Happy New Year! Continue the great content.
Def count me in on this one fellas!
I use a Crystal head vodka bottle for my infinity bottle
I just got a decanter for Christmas so that is what I am going to try with it!
Great video and has got me thinking for my own infinity bottle!
90k subs let’s go! Congrats!
