Being a Mechanic at a Harley dealership i have built a ton of bikes ,, and have built 13 custom bikes for my self ,, even winning the screaming eagle race of champions bike show ,, Best in show Big Twin category... But that bike there in its entirety is absolutely amazing !!! Beautiful Build Matt !! One of the nicest bikes i have ever seen truly amazing..

This Paint set was sold out within hours of it being announced at the dealer meeting Aug 2016. So, no, that wouldn't be possible. To my knowledge, they didn't use this paint on tour packs to match.
Matt Laidlaw but if I wanted an hd custom paint set for a RGU would it be possible to get those parts matched if requested.
Not from H-D. You'd have to try to get a local painter to try and color match it.

Matt; I hope you have better luck selling it than my local dealer. They built the exact same bike back in October and it still sits on the floor still as of today. Deep discounts of 4-5000 and still no takers.. $35,ooo plus for a street glide gets trumped by the CVO's that go for $37000. And have a better resale later, not to mention H/D finance won't go much over msrp of a standard S/G no matter how much the extras cost..

Hey Matt...planning on going on a road trip once I break in my 2017 SGS...starting from Ontario, Canada going to the west coast and hitting as many HD dealerships I can then crossing the border...hoping to make a stop at Laidlaw HD to say hi and meet you...then back to the east coast with stops at other HD dealerships and back into Canada...

Does the stage 3/4 impact the exhaust note that much? I've heard the SE pipes before and wasn't that happy with it. However, hearing this idle, I was impressed. Maybe it was just the quality of the recordings, but it definitely sounds nice on all of the upgraded engines I've heard.
It actually does sounds different with the Stage 3/4 kits. Its sounds louder with these kits. I've found this exhaust sounds the best at 3,000 RPM or higher. You can hear it a bit in this Stage 4 video I did. ua-cam.com/video/DoYh_KSncQU/v-deo.html

agreed but they're the easiest design to convert to a camless programmable valve and with the performance increases and the emissions compliance gains it's almost a given way to go on an air-cooled engine plus they run quite a bit cooler check out the Koenigsegg camless head video on UA-cam also Stu rman in Colorado makes a nice little programmer for them already available.

That's probably sold already! Nice job...but what about darker gauges and two into one exhaust?
I know the Stretched Bags are key to the build but I'm focused on the extra turn under the bike to make the second exhaust; maybe keep the left bag standard and have just one exhaust?

Thats a lot of $$$ for paint and painted parts! I wonder how scratched up those black parts will be after 10,000 miles? Ill stick with chrome.
yYeah Harley won and Polaris bailed. I do wonder if the Milwaukee 8 would have happened without the victory motor. I wish Harley would buy Victory motors and use them for a camless head version and posibly a supercharged diesel version. plus I'm tall I like the leg room on the victory but I've always loved Harley's. great video Matt thank you!

i wanna know why they only sell the trunk the saddle bags but not the other parts on harleys site to get these ... i seen they had almost all the parts but the rear fender the front fairings and the gas tank wanna go with this color but dont wanna spend the extra money to get the rest painted

It is beautiful all right. But, anytime they won't tell you the price up front and it is not marked, you can expect to get "bent over". My guess is that it is right up there with a CVO, or maybe a little bit more.
48retrop I'm very up front with the price. It's $56,000 dollars. Way more than a CVO. It's also a lot better than a CVO.
Hey Matt another nice video. I didn't think I would like that paint set but it looks really cool, especially with the tribal collection instead of the Defiance. I think it does fit better. I was just curious if somebody was to buy this bike and say a year later wanted to trade it in how do they figure the residual, the trade-in value, on it? Obviously when you accessorize your bike we all know Harley Davidson doesn't give you a dime for anything you've added to it but I would imagine being a custom build by a dealer to a bike sold as new there has to be some accommodation for the extra price of the bike. I was just curious. Thanks can't wait for the next video.

Richie sak Thanks. Yea, we of course would factor in the work and accessories. It definitely wouldn't be a situation where we would just give market value for a stock FLHXS. I really don't know what an exact trade-in figure would be though.
