This series of roms are amazing. I think what makes it loving this series in particular is the back sprites of the pokemon. I can't go back on the og or any other gen 1 rom because of the back sprites
I played this about a month and a half ago, and I've got to applaud the dev(s? I don't know if it's a solo or team project) for their work. There are several "upgrades" you can make to pokemon in the story that boost up otherwise forgettable mons, including my personal favorite in making Onix a Pseudo-steelix, with base stat buffs and the Crystal Type, which is a sort of buffed rock type that still gets rock stab.
Imagine Nintendo actually just releasing all the Pokémon mainline games on Switch with full trading and battling with online real people built in to replace the "lan" feature.
I am 100% certain that this does not need to be ported. You can just start .gba/.gc/.gb files with an emulator on your 3DS. Porting this to 3DS would be way over board.
If I may add to this, there is indeed not such a thing as PureYellow, but the author of PureRGB helped me more than a bit in developing my own Extreme Yellow: definitely a different experience than PureRGB, but if you like Vortiene's work, there's a chance you may be interested in mine as well ^^
Depending on what system you’re looking to play on, I’d get an r4 card or flashcart R4 cards are a Nintendo ds card that can play roms, I find that having everything on my ds has been very cool. You can get a gameboy or gba emulator to run on it
I was hoping he had used like a Fire Red rom to improve graphics.... this feels a lil bit too outdated for me. Isn't there a similiar rom hack (ony gen 1) but with better graphic?
Very intriguing. What about the balancing issues of the original like type effectiveness and moveset? Is it fixed? I remember some of the Gen 1 moves being broken like Slash. I used to use it all the time with my Charizard since it always hits with a critical hit.
You had me at: " You can catch all 151 pokemon."
sammee! XD
Or TrainerFly
Using strength to move the truck and find Mew alone makes this worth playing 😅
You mean he wasn't under there??
Yes!
Using strength on the truck got me. All the kids on the playground woulda lost their minds.
Truly the best gen 1 romhack.

The pokeball spinning when throwing for a catch was a nice touch
Each ball has its own animation. The master ball has that "siphon" visual effect. But the other effects are more subtle.

It's pretty much a solo project, I have received help to an extent by looking through code of other projects myself.
This looks really fun!
Change of plans for this afternoon it seems ❤
well you've changed how I'm spending this Sunday afternoon lol.
Interesting, looks fun for sure!
Imagine Nintendo actually just releasing all the Pokémon mainline games on Switch with full trading and battling with online real people built in to replace the "lan" feature.
Fun fan rom hack that expands on what I've already played before
vs paying a subscription fee just to play the same game I already own..
Hmmmm...
Biggest thing that puts it above the rest for me is the 60fps. That's some wizard shit
Cringe
Thanks for the info.
This is incredible. Now I can play this and D.A.M. Champion
4:41 Best rom hack in existance
no more needing to glitch for mew
Imaine if the actual pokemon company did comething like this lol
I may actually try this 😅
Wish I had this version as a kid...
I''m currently playing Pure Blue. Just beat Misty :)
With peace and love, Fuchsia is pronounced Few-sha like the colour :)
Imma look if I can get this game on my R4 card, wanna play it portable just like the og’s.
Thanks for the video ☺️
Def going port this to my 3DS!
How?

@@freshIight how do you get emulators on your 3ds
Oh they finally brought back the hyper ball.
I'll wait for Pokémon rgby
The Crystal Onix sidequest alone made me continue playing the game.
Mew truck is nice, glad to see the famous bugs are still in. Does the Mew glitch still work?
Yes i used a mew with the glitch for my hof
Yes.
I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to downloading and playing ROM hacks, what do you actually have to do to play this?
but can we catch Prof. Oak making moves on Mrs. Ketchum? Maybe in the next version?
Is it possible to port this over to 2/3ds??
Is there a Yellow version?
Nah, I wish there was but I also understand as it's a different game. Hopefully one day we get a PureYellow!
If I may add to this, there is indeed not such a thing as PureYellow, but the author of PureRGB helped me more than a bit in developing my own Extreme Yellow: definitely a different experience than PureRGB, but if you like Vortiene's work, there's a chance you may be interested in mine as well ^^
Check out pokemon yellow legacy, that is a very good romhack that is indeed "pure" in preserving the og experience without extreme changes to it.
The closest you could get at the moment is probably Yellow Legacy.
Is there any change in difficulty?
I wonder if they'll do a Pure Yellow Edition also? Perhaps more things you can do with Pikachu.
I would like a Pure Brown Edition with Eevee.
@@earendurvoneinzbern7585
I'm taking a pure brown version as I watch this.
No. I'd recommend playing Yellow Legacy if you want to play yellow. It's a whole different code base.
I'm actually going to give this a try. Stay tuned I will upload it as I play through its in the future
Can you have any Pokémon follow you, like the Pikachu does in Yellow?
No.
Which emulator to use for the game?
where can I get this rom?
Can this be played on Citra?
Is there a version like for this pokemon gold of gameboy color? and for pokemon shapphire?
No. Try crystal legacy though it's along the same lines.
Is there a download link for the ROM?
In the description!
Where can I get a physical copy of it?
You can dump a rom hack into a physical cartridge if you want, there are methods online.
You'll probably be able to find a seller eventually you can get yellow legacy and stuff rn
Depending on what system you’re looking to play on, I’d get an r4 card or flashcart
R4 cards are a Nintendo ds card that can play roms, I find that having everything on my ds has been very cool. You can get a gameboy or gba emulator to run on it
If you get an everdrive GB x5 or x7, you can place the rom hack on it and play it on your gameboy.
Why would you want that?
Looks great but I've been spoiled with Pokemon Ultra Violet, a rom hack of Fire Red on GBA which combines everything you need.
How does it compare to solus?
Is this on PC?
I wish there was an eevee version...
Does this run at 60fps like some of the pokemon romhacks?
Yes.
Is Mew still attainable via nugget bridge? Can't play Gen 1 without having Mew early.
Someone said the mew glitch still works so yes!
Yes.
They really should have a running animation. Everything else sounds great though.
It does have a running animation. It's the walking animation, but faster.
@Vortyne_Romhacks A running variant of the sprite was what I meant, like in later games. A faster walking animation is just fast walking.
