I love seawhites concertina sketchbooks they are a local family company they produce artist papers books and pads its lovely to see their products worldwide
I am addicted to them, currently working in 3 concertina sketchbooks LOL Love that a local family company is producing them, thanks for sharing that fact I really appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing this, Kelly...I'm looking forward to the next 99 days to see what you come up with. You're such a talented artist and designer- your sketchbooks are works of "art poetry" :)
Really enjoyed this video (but that doesn’t surprise me!) with all the introductory information about the 100 day painting project. Appreciated the info about the materials you’re going to be using, too. The ‘ done in real time’ first project was a wonderful demonstration of what we can aspire to do in a short period of time each day! I’m off to locate that site! 😉🧐
Sketchbooks have always intimidated me so this is going to be wonderful to follow and chase away that fear. Full size sheets ? No problem. Sketchbooks…. Eeek. Silly me. This 100 Days of random things is going to erase the eek. I will pull out my concertina sketchbook I found at Sennelier in Paris and bought by mistake thinking it was in sheets. Thank you for this. Might try 100 days of random nature… I see a lot of leaves and rocks and acorns in my future… thank you for sharing . Love your style.
I laughed out loud because thinking about a full sheet makes me start to sweat! The smaller sketchbook pages, simplicity for me. I love the idea of random nature because of everything available to us everyday. It would also be easy to find inspiration if you need it. Have fun!
@@kellyhoernig thank you! I am really looking forward to the advent paint too. I am really loving your style. I am a tightly detailed almost photo realistic, animal painter so this is so relaxing for me.
Yay! Day 1 completed!! 😄 Can’t wait to see how you’re planning to connect the next days in that accordion sketchbook. I have a low quality watercolor set that I want to use for this project… let’s see if I can just get it done with by the end of the 100 days! 😄
Yeah for a finished day 1 woo hoo!!! My connections are looking so good already since adding day 2 and I already know what I want to create for day 3. The story telling aspect for me is just so inspiring right now. Glad we are on this artistic journey together, so fun!
How beautiful and inspiring! And, Kelly, can you please tell us about how you designed your title page? I love the font and can’t help wondering if it is your invention or a stencil you own? Thank you, Julie :)
Oh, I love your leaves!!! Now that's the kind of quirkiness I'd pick up too if they grew in my area of FL. I love your painting too, that's why I stopped by. :) I will have to give splashing water like you do a try. Thank you so much for sharing with us! :)
Glad they inspired you too, they are just so incredibly weird which is exactly why I love them so! Yes to splashing, it is just a looseness that creates so much unplanned texture and adds so much to the art. Have fun!
I look forward to every Monday and Thursday to see what you have posted! The texture of this leaf is amazing.
Ahhh Teresa, thank you so much! I love knowing you are watching me every week.
Love studying how you get the variegated effect with both the splashing and painting layers of colors. Thank you !
Glad you saw it in action on this leaf today Patti. Hope it gave you clarity on the process too!

I love those words, art poetry, wow thank you for that! Excited to keep creating for 99 more days.
