This one beautiful. The trees are so tall you can get lost. Which is a good thing

Thanks for Video of this. Arcata bay is actually Humboldt Bay in Humboldt County California. ... I used to skimboard the entire Clam Beach, jump across little river , and skim along Moonstone ! You can actually camp at Patricks Point State Park, and go down to Agate Beach. I would imagine the only time it isn't completely reserved ahead is winter, if its open now in the winter ? You've heard people say "You can't see the forest through the trees" and perhaps not experienced that but you do at 23:39 (and to imagine growing up off trails in these forests and not getting lost or eaten by squach ! ) Remember, there are between 3 and 6 percent of the "old growth redwoods" left. Mostly in state parks. When your there, be kind to the "tourist trap places" as these people have little else going for them. Their ancestors were fisherman, loggers ect but there is not much of that left now. They live there because of the beauty but in the winter it can get so wet its a little tough on them. Especially financially . Michael Shreeve

Really enjoyed this video. I’ve visited this part of Northern California many times. I woke up early one morning to drive into Jedediah, rounded a bend and almost drove into a herd of elk crossing the road. What a wonderful experience! Northern California is the most beautiful part of the state.

Hey Valley PBS, i appreciate your savvy in providing content to share content relative to photography (im by no means a purfector in its craft, but a consumer of that content; that is thoughtfully executed. For which i mean in the objective substance that is me being able to see all citations and captions when i “full-screen” or “zoomed to fill” my iPhone screen. #attitude4gratitude

Brilliant film making! I did a solo photo adventure up there in 2019 and loved it. Y’all did an amazing job capturing the essence of the place. Keep up the great work!

24:12 That's not clover. It's redwood sorrel (oxalis). I'm hearing a lot more birds than I normally heard in those forests. Usually the birds are up too high to hear much of them. Did you edit those sounds in?

Great work guys! Love you videos!! Have always wanted to take the trek along the pacific coastline to see the great redwood and sequoia forests. Thanks again for bringing this to an avid hiker from Burlington, Ontario, Canada!! Keep up the good work!!!

That last scene of you looking up taking photos, shows the magnitude of everything around you. Wow! You should frame that scene.

Nicely done, hit a lot of the high points of the area. I lived in Arcata for a little while, there's a nice redwood park right in town with great trails and ziplines even up high in the trees! Eureka's a funky cool NorCal town too with a very cool large and photogenic oceanside reserve just south. There's a pretty redwood park down in Fortuna too. Kinda miss the area, now I'm up and in further over in the Siskiyou mountains...watching fall disappear with the first winter snow blowing.

Redwoods is one of 3 National Parks that we have not yet made it to. It and the other 2 (Lassen & Big Bend) are very high on our list! This video only adds to my anticipation. Thank you for a superb episode--great cinematography, interesting people, good narration. Keep posting and I'll keep watching!

Enjoyed your trip, I live in the area so it's always fun to see places we visit regularly. Sorry you didn't stop by Ladybird Johnson Grove (just northeast of Orick) and check out some really big redwoods...and the historical marker there named after her. Maybe next trip? Cheers & safe travels!

Beautifully filmed, the trees, the animals and the smell of the redwood forest. This is one of the most stunning landscapes that California has to offer. But….I do have one thing to say, why is there music, why can’t we enjoy the sounds of the birds, the silence and your voice in narrative. The music isn’t needed, especially when it almost drowns out the narrative. Thank you I have enjoyed all your adventures.

    Don't call it "THE 101". That's L.A. talk. Besides, it's a two lane highway, not a freeway.
