I had a similar story, but in Thailand. The parents of my Thai woman invited me to the restaurant, upon my arrival I noticed that there were 10 more people with her parents who were not related to them at all. They all joined us at the table. As you can guess, the parents nicely handed me the bill to pay.
@@Regular_Guyph First, I started to chat with her on line, then when I arrived to Bangkok and looked at her, I was disappointed, however I stayed with her and didn’t want to ruin my vacation. She was so conservative, everything was under the blanket, she would never show herself. It was killing me. I could not make her go to swim with me because of too much skin is exposed, I guess. I tried to teach her how to brush the tongue because her breath was like cats urinated there. Is it from eating raw fish guts? I don’t know. As soon as I came home, I told her goodbye.
Many years ago, I went to Beijing to meet a Chinese woman who had a young son. I stayed in a hotel she recommended because it was close to her apartment. We spent 3 or 4 days doing fun things in Beijing and, of course, we went to the Great Wall. At no time did I meet her family, which was just fine with me. However, after meeting her 7 or 8 year old son, he was clearly a victim of the Chinese one-child-only policy because he behaved like an little emperor. At that point, I knew this relationship would never work for me (I should have focused my search on Japanese women with/without children, as Japanese children are educated by their parents, grandparents, society, etc., to be very respectful and foremost to behave). The unruly child completely put me off any idea of sex, and I never saw any subtle or overt "green light" from her for me to initiate. Notwithstanding, the trip was awesome, and I really enjoyed her company, so I had no regret. When I returned, I was distant in responding to her emails, and it became clear to her to expect nothing more. She even confessed to being in a "bad place" (depression) and understood that she needed to work on herself before entering into a long-term relationship. As I told my friend, for $1000 in San Antonio, Texas, I could have gone on 10 dates @ $100/date, or on 1 date in Beijing @ $1,000. Best money I ever spent. As for you, Jenny was a consenting adult who voluntarily gave up sex in order to show her affection and/or to entice you to marry her. One could also argue that women who give themselves up to quickly or freely loose the respect of men. It may or may not have been her first time, but she gambled and lost. When I heard that the family dropped off you and Jenny at the same hotel, and regularly texted during the night, it convinced me that her family expected her to have sex in order to marry a Westerner who could financially help Jenny and her immediate and extended family. Your honesty helped both parties to quickly move on. Great story, thanks.
Agreed, You obviously didn't do your homework when getting involved with a Filipina. As they are very family oriented and often you will have to sponsor the family at these events / locations. Sounds like you were just out for some fun and you should of been up front about that and given her the truth in what you were looking for.

@@bradleymiller7375 - Thanks brother. PH is an odd place. There was a lot of pressure from stateside and from PH to marry his widow. My ex wife is from El Salvador, been there a few times, first was the worst, back in the early 90's, most of the country was poor, but the exchange rate was great, but yeah, every where we went, there was an entourage, and guess who was paying. Next visit, they went to the dollar, and I was broke after the first week. Cut that friends and family shit out real quick. She had one cousin, her husband was a Mayor, pilfering money like crazy, three bodyguards all day. Two kids in college, Mother asked for financial help, because their apartment in the city was expensive. I told her in America, when a pretty young lady cant pay for school, she gets on a table, grabs a pole and starts dancing. She missed the joke.
I tell them I'm not rich. Get a job. Good book says, you don't work, you don't eat. I will teach you guys a good word for the PH girls. Kuripot. Curry-Pot. Means tightwad or cheapskate Thrifty. They know from that word that you do not waste money. There are even Tshirts made in Philippines that say PROUD KURIPOT. It makes the point. Says right up front when we are at dinner, I'm paying for her and I. You bitches are on your own LOL
I was kicked out of the house by my ex wife. I had an LDR for a year and met my filipina. The whole trip went well and we are still a couple after the trip as I write. I love how open and easy going Filipinos are but everything seems to be a group activity, that's something I don't think I could get used to over time.
If they can pay their own way! I can see you wanting to give something as a gift to the family(Vacation) once you were MARRIED, Had Kids, and were now PART of the Family. And only did it because you could afford it, and wanted to show you appreciated the woman you were blessed with. Not for a first encounter, never met such people. OK, hey, have a drink. some food, sit down chat a while. LEAVE! There's a difference in being USED for a WALLET because you're a foreigner. I couldn't, and wouldn't get used to it.
You’d get used to it! Because they all will except you ! You’ll be the token white guy ! You’ll be a rockstar ! Just don’t be a wallet ! Excepting her family and traditions is a big part of it! She will love you if you spend time with her and her family !
The thing with Filipinas is that they see any relationship with a guy as a full-on commitment that should lead to marriage. They dont like casual relationships with no implied commitment due to their conservative outlook. If you were to marry one, you basically marry her family. Even a GF relationship involves her family, and of course where they see that as a serious commitment leading to bigger things.
I know this is the best way, but I'm fed up with Europe so I might head to Asian this year (so it will be tricky and I guess i'll start with Pay2Play first, but who knows!) I went with my wife to the Philippines. Had a ball. The hotel, airfare, entertainment and travel came out to about $10,000. We went to Bicol where my wife is from. The whole family wanted to go to Bicol so I paid for all of them to go to Bicol. My wife's niece gave up her room for my wife and me, everyone else slept on the floor. Lots of kids. The kids had not been to Bicol before. Most of my wife's family now lives in Manila. We went to her late mother's beach property in Bicol. The kids and their young parents all played in the water. They were laughing and playing and burying each other in the sand. It was such a joy to see all those happy faces. So my wife's brother started clearing the beach of vegetation with the idea of building a big house for the family to stay in at her mom's property. I think it's a great idea so I told my brothers-in-law not to worry too much about the money to build the place since they're doing all the work. I can't wait until it's finished. Unlike your girlfriend, my wife's family is very poor, very humble so, yes, I pay for everything. I don't mind because I enjoyed my two-week visit with them. Can't wait to see them again.
I was thinking the same way Robert. If I had a shit load of money why not just upgrade the family's lifestyle if they provided a beautiful and perfect wife for you to love the rest of your life. In America cheating ex wives expect this and much more and you never get any joy out of her. I say if the family really loves you then hell yes upgrade their standard of living. My God as American men we are dying to have a family to love and take care of! I don't give a shite if they are black, brown, yellow or whatever I would be happy.
@@elypowell6797 - Well my wife is a whole subject on her own. She's the greatest wife in the universe as far as I am concerned. She's been so good to me for the whole 15 years we've been together. I wouldn't trade her for a thousand wealthy American swimsuit models. She's the only woman I trust completely, even counting the women in my family. The souls of American women are rotten to the core. When you get a good wife like I have you WANT to do nice things for her. Such a pleasant change from the old, "Gimme everything I want or I'll find someone who will" attitude.
Being married and have lived in the Philippines the last 3 years I got to lol at your exsperance. The Phillipines are full of this type of thing and much more.
Many do if they mutually respect you as a general habit of good culture, but they don’t all bring family members. Some hide you for being foreign, your job or income or whatever other reasons. But such minority like women anywhere in the western world, they don’t think a Man deserves any expression of value in life.
Damm - your wife of 22 years kicked you down in the basement in your own house - to me was the true sad part of your story. Not often you find Filipina to be so understanding about the break-up, so Jenny surely is a great woman. The whole trip you had with her (and her family) is completely normal in the Philippines. Count yourself lucky to have this experience, as many men goes there and only spend time in Hotels and Bars. You got a great experience, and probably Jenny paved the way for your current happiness. Great story and wish you the very best.
I have to say you were wrong for not telling her upfront. You had no problem using her for sex, and it is this behavior that pisses the country members off.
The country members lying constantly and asking for money all the time pisses me off. The parents treating their children as ATM's and retirement funds does as well.
In the Philippines it's all about being with someone and having kids that's what they are accustomed to. And if you sleep with them they expect you to be with them for good. Be very careful because they can get you into trouble as in accuse you of wrongdoings. Do your homework.
Don’t ever sleep with the women there if she is not married to you. Bec it’s against the practices, culture. That’s a taboo in the Philippines. In general , Philippines is a land of educated, decent and conservative people.
This is an AWESOME story. Man you went all in and saw all sides of the Philippines family immersion adventure. I have to say, I've only experienced an fraction of this. Yep, the Pinay girlfriends wanting to finger-feed you is a thing there. I did get that, but never signed up for the family outing stuff. Hiding you from the locals in the broken-down truck is priceless. They knew that exposing you would either cost them more for the repair - or cost them their whole Westerner. In many other countries you would not have survived such a cross country. While you had to pay their fare for the hospitality, glad you appreciate it was still worth it for the great experience.

I think that unspoken fraud is part of the game here. If you told her upfront that this was a hook-up only, then It would be fair to all parties. Many young girls project their opinions of sex and attachment onto men, and men know this consciously or subconsciously. If one is into this type of activity, fine. But it's fine only if all parties know the terms and expectations. It's not fine to break someone's heart for an easy lay.
Grow up. If no commitment was promised then no commitment exists. Expecting a man to commit to you because you banged him is the female equivalent of men expecting to get laid because they bought a woman dinner. I’m sure this woman was “heartbroken” in the way that we would be heartbroken if we lost a winning lottery ticket that would provide us with life changing amounts of money.
Lol this man was taken advantage of the entire trip by the whole family. There was no agreement. There was no forewarning. There was no communication with that at all. But you want him to be up front with something he didn't actually ask but something that happened between two consenting adults? Let me ask you a question...was the sex a method of that woman persuading him to like her more? This man went over there in good faith of being up front. I find it funny that they willingly used his resources but you draw the line at him enjoying sex with her that didn't include payment? Guys like you are what's wrong with women and men gaining equality. In your book, it's ok for the man to be used but the minute the woman on an all expense paid 12 day vacation doesn't win the lottery and become the queen of his life, it's a problem? I hope you stay wherever you are keep this mindset in whatever abode you reside in.
@harveypolanski755 it's about expectations and ethics. Not only did he fail to set expectations in the beginning, but he wilfully avoided the topic even after he pointed out that he began suspecting her expectations of their relationship/time together were of a "serious nature". It crossed over into exploitation at that point.

When it comes to the assumption that the white guy pays, it’s like that in a lot of places… When I was in Guyana, my cab driver, I don’t remember if it was my regular driver nicknamed Taliban or one of the other drivers, told me to be careful in all my dealings with locals, business or otherwise, because when they see a foreigner (especially a white guy) that they look at him like Santa Clause. In that light, some of them are happy to wait and see what Santa has brought for them, but in other cases the people are not willing to wait and see what’s in the sack for them, instead they want to try and steal the whole sack… and if Santa dies than oh well…. While I was there, a buddy came and told me of a story in the news. Another American soldier who was from Guyana was visiting his mother and was murdered. The man had left Guyana when he was young, gone to the states and joined the army, worked hard and got a degree while active duty and then applied for the program where the army sent him to medical school while he was still on active duty. Dude goes through all that and becomes a doctor in the army. All that to go home and be murdered. I looked at my buddy who was telling me the story, a retired army chaplain originally from Guyana and back living there, and I said, “one of his sister8s husbands killed him.” My buddy smiled and said, “yes, you understand.” I said, “it wouldn’t be the mother or father, but anyone can check online and see how much American soldier’s life insurance is, then they assume that since he isn’t married the mom is getting it, she’s gonna peel off some for her daughters, so a boyfriend or husband killed him assuming he would indirectly get ten or twenty thousand American dollars, and that is huge down in Guyana, he just can’t ever tell his GF/wife.” My buddy and I discussed how effed up humans are the rest of that night over a good meal and a couple beers. Don’t associate with poor people.
Nicely done, and a relatable story. I'm not good at the breakup part, and I hate breaking hearts. It seems like these Filipinas can fall hard and a man needs to be gentle and honest with them. It's also clear, that a Western man will be freddy fatbanks when he shows up and the expectations are real from not just the girl, but sometimes her whole tribe if you want to get the nookie.
I always thought once a foreigner decided to meet a Filipina , he’s inlove and true. And you are right! We fall hard except to those who are only after for the money. Your story is pretty typical for most men. your first trip you had fun and learned the "Do's and Don't" Glad you happy now. I have been married and living in the Philippines with my wife now 15 years.. Life could not be any better.
I did the same, my Filipina is a beautiful young woman from the Provinces. I mean it was obvious she was beautiful with all of the FaceTime phone calls we had before my visit. Let me tell you I was not disappointed and she is now my fiancé. Yes they will hand feed you and do absolutely everything for you . There is a big age gap but she doesn’t care she treats me like I’m her contemporary. Filipina girls really are quite something🥰
Exactly. All the times he mentioned the S*X (and unprotected at that) was totally unnecessary and at the same time showing her face in the video. I'm sure she and many of her friends saw his channel afterwards. Total creep.
Another good story from the greatest horizontal tango narrator of all time. I keep hearing this story repeatedly and I think this person helps to prove why online dating websites are a waste of time. Online you're just one of a million pictures she has seen on a daily basis, but once you are boots on the ground in Phils, your options explode and you have your pick of the litter. Most girls, no matter how attractive, will explore the opportunity if it's right in front of their face. An online single mom, who will probably have tons of baggage, is not going to stand a chance against most of the young and hot girls you will encounter in public. So unless you REALLY have some deep connection with her, then it might be best to buy your ticket and explore your options first.
I gave up on dating sites not too long after I started. I would rather just meet as I go when there so I don't get trapped and have an exit plan. Plus I always here about "buyers regret" like in this story... ALWAYS a more beautiful woman available, get unexpected attention, and would hate to be in a situation that I can easily have a more beautiful woman when stuck with someone less attractive.

English is taught in all school systems in the philippines. Elementary, high school, and all college courses are taught in English and you said no one spoke English in her family. This was a set-up from the very beginning and never take the entire family once you travel there until you really get to know her first. Oh, by the way did any of the family's husband's or boyfriends treat you and everyone else 🤔
Do you know if English was taught when all these family members were children at school? In their province at that time (70/80s). And even if it was, how thorough was it back then eg was it only for certain year levels? And even it was thorough, what are the chances they've had the opportunity to use it enough since then to stay sharp... 3 questions to answer before making such an odd assumption about being a "setup"
Interesting story and thank you for sharing it. One thing I want to add regarding participating in events where you are the only one who doesn't speak the local language, irrespective of where you are, is that it sucks. Big time. You are just by yourself with your thoughts waiting for someone to take a pity at you to talk to you. Often times, this is how it is.
Robert here, I'm glad I went to Philippines at a young age, traditions and the culture, customary to spend and treat relatives, they will eventually treat You!
Thanks for being so honest man. I learn a lot more from your accounts then from filipinas doing youtube vids about the Philippines and the situations there.
Guy, I gotta tell you: Yeah, from day 8 you were leading her on and your lack of understanding of the Philipine culture was evident. To break up like that was chicken sht on your part. I hope you realize now how bad a move it was. Happy you found love but I feel for Jenny, she didn't deserve that.
You say you aimed too low in Jenny's overall appearance. Well ole man, you must be grateful Filipinas don't judge by looks, have a look at the expats they walk around with...And no need to brag about how many times you went to bed with her....Sheeesh, you're not 18 anymore.
I feel this is some dude with low self value running off to find ways escaping reality of burdens and pains. Victimized an innocent loving warm woman in the Philippines thinking to love her real and not fooled her. A high value man knows what he wants and decisive to find ways to ease his pains and turn his pains to useful thinking for his future and to stable his life. Then when he found himself a whole he finds one woman to love him. The moral value of this story if you think the woman provides everything on her plate that means she wants you in your life, by then you need to cut it off before she introduce you to her family. That then, you should already let her know your intentions and that she wont get hurt so bad. You are broken and healed from this experience that some women are very understanding to let go and accepted your mistakes. I know how guilt sometimes often comes but you have learn and grow maturely knowing women and being smartly chose someone that will make a difference in your life not just SeX this is how people fail they dont emotionally ask themselves first before they put themselves into and mistakes happen then cycle of toxicity happens. Then marriage and realize again that it was not love they are after for. Then divorce etc etc...
Yes, letting someone down, after being intimate with them is so difficult. I suppose that is why it is said: Love hurts. And one way or another, the end always comes. Too soon!
When I was flying in the first time 3 out of 7 I was talking to were insistent they pick me up at the airport. Keep in mind I had not committed to anyone, just talk and maybe meeting them when I got there.

Well now I just booked my first trip to the Philippines and starting in Cebu August 27th 2024. Wish me luck. I’m going freelance and will figure it all out when I get there.

The guy in this story sounds like a immature scumbag. He should have let the girl know right away his feelings. Hopefully the girl has found someone who truly loves her😊
Totally different from the Malay community or even of other communities in Malaysia too. My family and I speak very good English. We do not make fun of our family members calling them pigs. But, I understand that different countries, have different cultures.
While telling the story you mentioned how all the family and friends started coming along and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off because it was the same way for me my first time in the Philippines..... But in the story I kept waiting for the, reported to immigration but never heard mention of it 🤔

I love your story! It's similar to my first experience in the Philippines. I've been to the Philippines 7 times so far and I plan on buying a condo in Manila.
Jenny wasn’t in love with you my friend when she wanted you to buy a house and put it under her name, just a typical filipina who saw her window of opportunity after seeing you throwing your money away they way you did. You know that by now that you can’t trust no one here for simple of reason they see us as a walking ATM’s, yes not all but MOST are like that 😉 A good filipina will never ask for money from you or for you to pay for her friends and family when you go out, good filipina will treat your money as her own and trust me pinoy sharing bills when they go out and almost never one family member has to pay everyone’s bills.
You're a good story teller, it never gets boring. It's very funny that many commenters think you are talking about yourself. If they had paid more attention they would have wondered why 'you', a Canadian, return home to the USA.😂

I have empathy for the people that I empathize with, the people that I can relate to, I dont relate to unknown people. I dont feel guilty because I havent done anything to feel guilty about. What have I done to others that requires guilt?
@@Vottoduder-q8g No I'm not implying you've done anything to feel guilty about, how would I know. The commenter expressed his disapproval of the narrators behavior with the young woman.
The thing with Filipinas is that they see any relationship with a guy as a full-on commitment that should lead to marriage. They dont like casual relationships with no implied commitment due to their conservative outlook. If you were to marry one, you basically marry her family. I went with my wife to the Philippines.
I agree Sir 👍 if the girl knows upfront then she would have had the made the appropriate decision if to meet or not to meet.
@@CaptainWedgie "Ethics" get over yourself LOL. This was a transaction that the entire family knew was going on. These people aren't stupid, they're people and will take advantage of a situation if it benefits them, especially if it benefits the ENTIRE FAMILY. You purposely mislead this woman, then broke up after you left?
I have no respect for you.
I don’t think that is fair to say that , we always get tied up in something and we don’t know what will happen in the end, his intentions were right at the beginning and towards the end, they both were enjoying each others company, he never told her he loved her, have you ever dated a Filipina in the Philippines and spent time with her ?

Something struck me as odd. You said her English was poor but she was a pharmacist. That requires a college degree and all college is taught in English. So how is her English poor if she has a college degree. My wife and her siblings, her parents and Aunt and nephews all have college degrees and there English is just fine.
First off I'm an American retired US Army and live in Mindanao full time. About the english, I know many teacher, even college professors that can't speak very good english. Most people here have a little understanding of English but that's about it.
Especially since the Philippines % of english speakers is one of not the highest in the world. lol
@@freddypatterson8653 I'm sure you are just an inferior guy who like to boost your confidence by proclaiming that you have a superior English proficiency compared to teachers and professors in Mindanao. Teacher's degree in the Philippines is at least 4 years of hearing college instruction in English, speaking English in classrooms, reading and studying English books, writing reports in English and taking exams in English language. Yet you know MANY teachers and professors that cannot speak good English. Of course they can understand and speak English but they will not understand you if you are among those English speakers who speak fast with strange English diction that only your community in your country can understand.

When it comes to the assumption that the white guy pays, it’s like that in a lot of places…
When I was in Guyana, my cab driver, I don’t remember if it was my regular driver nicknamed Taliban or one of the other drivers, told me to be careful in all my dealings with locals, business or otherwise, because when they see a foreigner (especially a white guy) that they look at him like Santa Clause.

But that’s some women in Phils they see foreigners as $$$. They just ddnt know, well most of my colleagues are westerners here in UAE so I know bit of their stories back to which country they came from about money matters and the culture etc.

Exactly. All the times he mentioned the S*X (and unprotected at that) was totally unnecessary and at the same time showing her face in the video. I'm sure she and many of her friends saw his channel afterwards. Total creep.
How?
She'll just go back on line looking for another sucker.

So brave to not break up with her in front of her, but ghosting her like a 16 yo.

I didn't pretend I loved her we never talked about that
Another good story from the greatest horizontal tango narrator of all time.
Yes , all very true .

A behavior the narrator himself felt guilty of. The point is it's ok and appropriate to express disapproval when we see or hear of someone doing something we don't condone.
Virtues aren't limited to certain people, virtues extend to everyone, that's why they are virtues.
We have no personal connection with the people in the story, they may be abstract non existent, cartoon figures, the part being discussed is the morals in the story.
It's not personal, we are just relating to the story.
You sound like a guy btw :-)
@@L6FT I know what virtues are and how dare you assume my gender. J/K. :)
Great story, Scott....
Thank you for sharing it...
The pic of a full jeepenyee looks accurate when said few family members came with her to pick you up.
You are really a master story teller. Ever thought about doing a podcast with the audio from your channel? Did you really have 140 subscribers and call the channel Scott Chocolate a mere 4 months ago?
How did you expect her not to fall in love with you if you were slaying her with the mighty pipe ?
True!!
Good point ha
Great chronicle of your first time in the Philippines. I'll be heading there in the future to create my own. Thanks for your content.
You are a good story teller.
thanks for the kind words
This was a really good video. It flowed well with humor and raw honesty. So different from most other vloggers on the Philippines.
I don't appreciate the clickbait of being reported to immigration, I thought that was true! lol. But at least you made up for it with an entertaining and honest video. Good job!
