It is so nice to see that Vietnam is thriving. Their philosophy is to do everything as well as possible. I have found that garments made in Vietnam have such a superior quality than Chinese or even most American garments. Unfortunately, I don't anticipate that these great deals will continue to be available in years to come. Get it while it's hot!
Greetings! You may remember last week while I was with my best friend on her motorbike, I spotted you working at one of the outdoor West Lake coffee shops. We were so happy to stop and meet you. We find it crazy fun to have just watched you (this video) for the first time the night before on UA-cam. All the best to you and continued success. Rob and Tam!
Hello Rob, I was waiting for you to comment so I could say hi online!! It was so happy to meet you and Tam, I was amazed you recognised me just from driving by so fast!! Thank you so much for your support :)
This is a great video. Vietnam is one of my favourite places, and Hanoi is tops in Vietnam, for me. Thank you. I subscribed and liked this. I can't wait to get back By the way, who's the Farang dude? He just randomly appears...
Very lovely lady, pretty , well spoken & informative. Thank you. Vietnam is on my radar for retirement !! Been doing a lot of research & the country & people seem beautiful !!
This is a very informative clip. I'd like to find out more about your country. For instance what you can do in your spare-time besides going to the gym. Is it easy to find new friends in Vietnam, especially, if you don't speak the language? How about Health Care, what insurances do you need, if you come as a visitor who only likes to stay there for 2-3 months? I hope to see more from you in the coming months. Great camera work and a very informative clip.
Great video and very informative. I am retiring at the end of October 2025 and am in the process of deciding on Vietnam or the Philipines. Thank you Crystal for that great video.
Informative video, great if you don’t have a traditional office job. If you’re full time UA-camr or work full time remote then this is possible. Most jobs are hybrid now and full remote work is less and less. One thing is to remember is that the weather there is something to deal with along with language barriers. And figuring out the Visa . Thanks again for sharing.
I lived in Ho Chi Minh City for a year. Most Vietnamese landlords will charge foreigners a much higher rate than what they charge other Vietnamese people. Taxi drivers would charge me more. Venders in the market would charge me more for items. In restaurants, if the price wasn't on the menu, then I was often charged more than what I saw others paying. Took me a while to figure this all out. I was a sucker for the first 2 months. It was still cheaper than the US, but not that much cheaper. I think this girl is getting the locals prices.
Health care , personal insurance , fuel costs , shopping for essentials, bike or car insurance, contents insurance, power , water , gas , travel costs , buying clothes . The list goes on ? Unfortunately these videos along with many others don't give you the real costs of living . Do your own research and find what it really will cost you
Good morning from California ☀️ Wow Crystal, $600 is a bargain compared to anything in California. This why many Californians view Asia as a retirement hub. Great video 🙌 Happy Travels 👍
My wife and I are in Danang and planning to visit Hanoi soon. Would you recommend a few good valued guest houses and hotels to stay for a few weeks stay?
In Dalat apartment 200usd/month. Eating 400usd. 100usd for etc...Total 700usd. Im Vietnamese living here rental one room with 1 motorbike total expen 1 month is 200usd.
@chanonmckay8766 no im in the 2nd largest city of the country. But i think it is the AC eating alot of energy, hence the price. I was just shocked it was actually that much
In the UK the electricity price is much higher. When I lived in Goteborg the electricity in Sweden was very cheap, but the income taxes were much higher. I don't know if the government somehow subsidises the utility rates in Sverige
Damn, you are beautiful and articulate! Did you study in the UK? Love your English. Best wishes for a successful UA-cam channel. Consider me a new subscriber.
Spent a year in Vietnam in 2001, and loved the south. My hope is that the attitude of the people in the North towards foreigners has changed, but at the time Hanoi people were ignorant, rude and downright hateful towards foreigners. By the end of my first week if a street vender would approach me i would tell him I couldn't understand why America stopped bombing you. That would make them go away. It was such a relief to get back down below the DMZ. It felt like coming home to the Vietnam I loved from my precious visit. I have a North Vietnamese friend here in Australia and she openly says that Quote" people in the north are horrible" If this situation has not changed, I don't know why you would pay $600 a month to stay in such a hell whole.
Great video. Im looking to move and retire to Hanoi in April 2025 from UK, unfortunately with visa runs. I like the hustle and bustle of Hanoi too. Cos im older medical insurance is looking like a big expense. Looking at long term travel/back packers insurance as a cheaper alternative. But when there maybe one of the large international hospitals might offer insurance policies. Keep up the great videos. 👌👍
I have never seen your channel before today. You're a beautiful woman. I have never been to Vietnam it seems like a confusing place for an older man. I have been to Japan, Philippines and Thailand.
Yes you can exist in Hanoi on $1000 a month, but I don't consider it living. You won't get me on anything with 2 wheels. A unicycle might be fun as it's so unusual the locals might give you room.

Don't let the UA-cam videos of Da Nang to fool you. Da nang is still very underdeveloped. I'm from UK aswell, so I assume you are familiar with blackpool (pleasure beach)? Da nang is the same, it has one really nice/busy side/road near the beach, but the rest of the city is just half-built constructions and knocked-down buildings, and te town is dead compared to Hanoi. I like actions, noise, and events. I'd choose Hanoi or HCMC. If I want quiet and more like a resort kind of vibe, I'll choose Da nang
@@CDRUR Thanks for the response.. I'm going to look into Hanoi / HCMC :) Also only just found out about Vaccines and all the things to be aware of in Vietnam. @@CDRURIs this why Da Nang seems so much cheaper? I fell in love with Hanoi in 2006. Fellow Londoner and global expat here, since the age of 8 🙃. Da Nang is more like a mix of Southend and Brighton. Nha Trang is more like Blackpool. I know very well as I studied at Lancaster Uni. Nha Trang has a significant Russian influence and less developed beach city compared to Da Nang. The only reason you want to be in Hanoi is to network with the political elite and expand your business interests. Ngl I know some daughters of significant politicians there...anyway Hanoi is more conservative, can be a bit stuck up as modern Vietnamese culture is actually quite materialistic. Ho Chi Minh is a more liberal but has the flashy issue here too, and scamming is a bit rife too. Business opportunity here too, but if you manage business globally/remotely and don't need to market a business presence, not necessary as your base. Da Nang is a great choice if you enjoy beaches, peace and breathing space. People are more laidback, humble and closer to Viet tradition than the 2 major cities.

Looks like a fun place to visit! I live in Florida, so it's hot here as well. Right now, we get 3 months of cool weather 70 Fahrenheit or so.
Perfect weather in Hanoi. It is getting cold actually, so I will be moving down south near HCMC
Do they have much American foods there?

What most people leave out is Health Care. And that monthly cost changes everything substantially.

How much for phone and internet? That would be a major importance for living/working there.

Yeah, I'm surprised that studios cost so much, compared to Thailand. I'm trying to imagine the rent for a 2-bedroom, which is what I need.
I didn't see Beer street when I was there -- thankfully!
