This is the style of the dream home I fantasize about when/if I win the lottery. Just where I live, not overseas. This style of building is so clever and beautiful - always found it sad to see how the middle east has moved away from rational building and on to ugly McMansions with massive ACs on the roof.

I have a serious question:what do people do in case of fire or when your neighbors do renovation? The street is so narrow
Fires are actually very rare in the Medina. Most houses will be equipped with an extinguisher or fire hose just in case.
Building work can be challenging in the little streets. Basically, everything is brought in on donkey carts and the work is done by hand.
I took a drink every time I heard the word 'wonderful', took me 3 minutes to get pissed...'wonderful'!
