60 + years of finch keeping / video title Avilab / the UA-cam channel I believe is the video you’re talking about, fantastic video. Kuya fincher / UA-cam channel unloaded a version without the music.
Hi Jay. I noticed you have canaries mixed in with the finches in the aviary. Did you breed them on that aviary or in separate cages?. If you bred them in the aviary, did you add multiple pairs in there and let them choose their partners? Reason why I'm asking is because I have a large finch aviary and thinking of adding 4 or 5 pairs of canaries to the aviary. Here in Rhode Island my canary breeding season starts around December so thinking of putting them in the aviary this season.
Hey! Short answer: yes I breed in the aviary, no to multiple pairs. Longer answer: I find that my canaries get along reasonably well with the other birds if there’s enough space. My hens will generally get along with each other as well. If you have two males in any size aviary smaller than like a large house, the males will pretty much fight to the death or at least to serious injury. When it’s not breeding season, they will kind of ignore each other but a minute things get hormonal, It is a problem. So pick a pair, put it in the aviary and breed the rest in cages.
Great advice!
Glad you think so!
Ok, thanks for getting back to me. I'll try one pair only in the aviary.
Good luck! Keep me posted! Here to help!
5:28 is that my old Red-Eared Waxbiill? He looks happy!
Yes it is! And yes he is! Singing and basking in the sun enjoying retirement!

Wow, thanks you’re right! Amazing
That might be record timing of shipping birds from another state to being uploaded into a video all within almost just a day. 😆
Could be! Go Cleveland postal workers? Lol?
