nice reminder ,,,, I started raising parakeets when I bartered some work for a large outdoor aviary.... 2 years later I had over 1k birds,, I sold the babies to a local dealer and put the money right back into supplies and other kinds of birds.... I even got some of the rare birds to start breeding like nuns of various kinds. Was a lot of fun.

I don’t typically breed for mutations, but the easiest way to breed for lutino or albino mutations would be to fine two, unrelated birds with the mutation and breed them.
Could you do a numbered list of all the things I need to do in order to start raising/breeding these?

Will they mate out of same nest? Brother sister?
Society finches will share nests, but sibling mating should be avoided. I do this by either sending the babies somewhere else, or removing siblings and pairing them with unrelated birds for a few months before reintroducing them to the aviary!
Its okay to mix society finches and gouldian Finches in a colony breeding.. is there any tendency that society and gouldian will mate?
Good question, yes that’s fine as long as all birds have been quarantined and are healthy, with plenty of room. I never heard or seen of a Gouldian/society hybrid. If you see anything that concerns you, you can make changes but should be fine.
