It's fun being able to do my water changes without worrying about sucking up a guppy LOL

Enjoyed your video on the water change system. I also have a 32 gallon Fluval Flex aquarium. What type of floating plants do you have? I tried red root floaters and they all died I was told I have to much surface movement and this caused my plants to die. Again I enjoy your videos. Any chance you will review the Fluval Shaker aquariums?

Hi Joseph, I also tried red root floaters and struggled (and lost all of them). I have found that strong surface movement heavily hampers the growth and well-being of floating plants. In my flex 32G I orient the nozzles to create a less surface agitation that I typically like and have found that my amazonian frogbit (the ones I managed to keep in my aquariums) survive and thrive. I also slightly open the food door to allow more air exchange to prevent excess heat or humidity that couls harm the floating plants.
As for the shaker, I would really like to test and review it but it is currently not within my budget. I could however arrange with my LFS to do a tour of some unboxed units if that's something you would like.
And thanks again for your kind words and support! :D

So we have to keep the tap running the entire time while sucking water out?

Yes. This is unfortunately how most water changers work. I've seen some people make systems that use an electrical pump to get the water out and honestly I'm thinking about making one myself to save some water.
