There's something magical about trains in snow and you've captured the atmosphere to perfection! The shot of the two Voyagers side by side really shows how thick the snow was. You must have resembled the abominable snowman by the time you were finished!! Well done for braving the conditions to bring us this sparkling video. Ken
Spectacular shots of the DB 92 van and 86-hauled Freightliner trains. Must have put a chill down your back as they passed. I think trains look great when they're caked in snow and ice. Thanks for braving the cold and uploading in HD!
This has really cheered me up today, watching from the comfort of my settee. As I,m poorly, thanks for the effort you have put in making this video. Cheers, regards Paul.
Amazing how it used to snow as recent as 2013! Now it’s 2020 and seen no snow all winter and don’t see much last winter. Less and less snow each year. Thing of the past in England snow is now.
4:49 I caught some of the announcement here, but do you by any chance remember any more of what the message said? The part I caught was, "May I have your attention please. Due to severe weather, some services on this line are being disrupted. We're doing all we can to.." and then I lost it.
Used to live 300 yards from Milton Keynes Central, if you think that is heavy snow you should visit Canada and see what snow is. You have just a skiff.
Cool lol Looks like at the end where the two units were joined up they could do with a same kind of system used at airports that constantly suffer from snow. A huge shower system that covers the whole thing in de-icer as it goes through the shower
I could be wrong, but listening to the intercom announcements it seems that snowy weather can affect the operation of electric trains. Is that maybe a reason why the Americans prefer diesel locomotives over electric?
+hawkeye0248 The snow affects a lot of electrical systems. It can damage the overhead wires and the signalling equipment if it freezes. But generally snow can causes problems for diesel trains too, ice build up underneath etc. Not sure the Americans prefer diesel loco's (they do for freight) but for speed they use electric trains like the Amtrak Acela
That reminds me very much on Deutsche Bahn (German Rail): It has four enemies (except for the passengers themselves): spring, summer, autum, and winter...
Your Voyager journey shows what truly awful trains they are. As a child in the late 1960s/ early 1970s I recall often travelling in a diesel Austin Cambridge taxi and even that was quieter to ride in. The bogs stink and everything rattles. Why punters put up with paying such high fares to endure 5/6/7 hour journeys in those trains is beyond me. Still, a great video!
Surely we should care more about the lives of people who endure wilder climates than we are used to? This is quite heavy snow for Britain but its nothing compared to other parts of the world.

Surprised they were running in snow. Good thing there weren’t leaves on the line either! Looks like mighty cold work so we’ll done for a great video.

Excellent video, in such terrible weather conditions, you deserve a medal for going out in this, well done, cheers...Bill
This is really well done

If you don't mind me asking, how do you get free train travel anywhere?
Nice to see the virgin voyagers back again :-)
What six the sprinter DMU doing on one of the lines at around 01:22?
It was the pendolino that had just departed the station the snow makes it look like a flat faced train
the legendary words "we are sorry" lol
The trains will be so COOL in the snow!

In ameica with the lack of frequency and the HUGE distances, Electrifying everything doesn't really make economic sense
How could you be out ther in the cold? Fab vidio
Brilliant 💖
are you saying the sir lamiel?
In the description you said you get free train travel. Why?
william snakespeare one of his family/friends is a train driver
Do you know why it was broke down
Oh how I miss Virgin Trains!!
It didn't fail because of the snow. There was a fire on it.
Omg
What is your first vid called and I like all your videos
Rangers celtic fixtures
Wow. You would have been drenched in snow standing out in the snow. Great job btw.
Jeepers the snow was very bad out of London Victoria on the 18/01/2013 - many delays due to defective Class 465s running on local commuter trains
That reminds me very much on Deutsche Bahn (German Rail): It has four enemies (except for the passengers themselves): spring, summer, autum, and winter...
what was wrong with the voyager in platform 5?
onboard fire that was quickly put out but was kept there as a precaution. hope that helped. ;)
What caused the voyager to fail ?
Probably wheel slip. If a Voyager uses it's sand it has to be taken out of service as they only have one shot sanders.
LOVE the intermodal train hauling ass at 13:56!

It seems that Snow is a regular problem over there travelers this time of year

They tried to do the same too me Maurice Sean Denise from EastEnders
this you call heavy snow, it merely scares toddlers
Its a video of trains in snow. I didn't ask for your definition of "heavy" snow.
Toddlers probably were delighted about the snow.
rachaelmatt c sushi train flying
Heavy snow varies. In England this counts as heavy snow, however in other colder countries this could be child's play, merely normal weather.
👍👍👍
Heavy snow?! No wonder Britain can't cope with it.
Ahh if only it was snowy again :/
The voyager*
SNOW?! IN ENGLAND, HOW?!?!😲😲😲😲😲😲
FinGamingOnRoblox The weather on News.
