There are good home inspectors and bad home inspectors, just like good and bad contractors, or architects, or any other professionals. Many times people decide on home inspector based on the price only, and they end up with problems. That's how it rolls. When it comes to contractors, I met many who had absolutely no idea that they are doing, especially GCs. The ones who specialize in one thing sometimes know their work, but know very little about other things. Home inspectors are generalists. Good home inspector is more knowledgeable about buildings than 95% of contractors. If there is any area of concern, and it is highlighted in the report, the buyer can and probably should consult a professional.
JanekScyzoryk Hey buddy you have very valid points.In my experience I have not seen that in the nj area.I get calls weekly for this kind of stuff,and as far as this job there was no mention of anything in his report which was clearly visible to anyone,but there is good home inspectors out there just waiting to find him that’s all,you’re point about contractors is correct to,I see it all the time where I loose a bid to the lower guy and then he screws the people.I see all the time on UA-cam about bad contractors and no one ever speaks up about realtors and home inspectors,but I appreciate You man !
looks really good. would like to see the finished project. on a side not you cannot use Aluminum flashing on the ledger board. the new chemicals in the new PT will corrode the Alum fairly quickly. You have to use Copper flashing. thanks for sharing. subscribed
bkoz319 absolutely correct that’s why you run aluminum first ,then you put ice and weather over aluminum then you put vicor and it makes it bullet proof will never rot again
bkoz319 yes it is specially the decking,in this case I used trex,I will have a vid out on finish product soon waiting for excavation of steps to be poured
