Hi. How come you didnt need to sister the rafters with 2x10 and no ties? What about that big yellow beam, that stays? Also, 2x6 rafters enough for r30?
what type /grit of sand paper
2 tips. Screw the flange into place before screwing the fixture into the drop ear fitting and put your Teflon tape on clockwise when looking at the end of the pipe you are installing it on. You run the risk of running a screw into your copper pipe screwing them in at an angle like that, and the Teflon tape will not loosen when you screw the fixture in. Otherwise, it's a very informative video. I had to learn those two things the hard way.
Thanks for the video, Pat! Subscribed to your channel too!
Great video and advice, I just bought the same one for our kitchen and this video definitely helps.
Are there any video resources for cutting outside corners on vaulted ceilings?
Thanks Pat! I've looked at quite a few pot filler videos and yours is the best so far. Your sequence is good, the 3/4-in plywood on top of the block really helps. And mounting the flange which your screws going on an angle works really well also. Great video!
Good shit. This is exactly what I was looking for. For months now. I just need to raise the rafter ties 3 feet to allow clearance for a 4 post car lift in my garage.
Nice bro glad it helped
What is waist of time
What a waste of time… thanks for watching
Notice the upper clamps are not installed proper. They are too close to the fitting. Supposed to be 1/8" or slightly more from the end of the pipe. Dudes, run a NEW PIPE. PEX pipe is super cheap. No need to Band-Aid some crap with orange pipe LOL. The more fittings the more failure points you have. Not to mention the flow restriction of all the new fittings that PEX B has.
My 2015 ram 1500 pulls a 12 ft dump no problem just put some bags on your rear
This was great! I really appreciate the attention to the process from beginning to end.
Glad it help you out! Appreciate you watching
Is it not easier to do pre-hung doors? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I'm not a carpenter but have french doors (interior) that I need to replace and am trying to figure out the easiest way to do it. Thanks for sharing your work!!
Thank you sooo much for this detailed demonstration!
amazing video man! You hit all the key points on the head, like showing the amazon product, advising what the rough-in height from floor is, & showing the install very clearly. Very much appreciated!
Where did you find that 2 1/4" Brass Nipple? Not a typical size
Any plumbing supply house will have it Thanks for watching
We’re those your safety glasses on top of your hat?
You said you recessed your blocking at 1.5”. When you attached the 3/4” material used for anchoring the set flange did you fir out between 2X6 and the 3/4”, or did you just leave a 1” gap between the 2X6 and 3/4 piece?
The 3/4 blocking is flush with the framing Hope this helps
Now just imagine if that allen wrench in the box doesn't fit! This is exactly what just happened with our new ZLine pot filler.. And the handles aren't lined up at 6o'clock has me nuts! I can't spend another minute on the phone with them they have no clue.. Nice video thanks for sharing!
Pat ! Thank you I got mine installed ! Thank you you saved my ass from some serious mistakes !! Thanks man!
Hey that’s awesome, glad it helped you out!
Awesome Video Patrick !! I just bought the valve and getting ready to install it !
If I’m removing the pot filler for a tile install, is there a shut off valve usually or do I need to turn off the main water valve?
Normally we will install one in the back of the stove with an access panel or run the line to the sink and have its own stut off as well Hope this helped
@@patricksimone1238 yeah I just spoke with my builder. He didn’t install a shut off for this line. So now I have to turn the main off when I get to that point in the splash. Smh
Great example. Ty
Great video. I always cut my crown with the crown stops. Thanks for the great demo🥃
Sound advice!
I got 2019 Ram Hemi and 2020 Ram Diesel. I'm looking to get a 14ft dump trailer. Definitely will be using the 2500 pull it but nice to know the 1500 can move it around
How great was this video!!! 🎉 My question is, i'd like to use ledgerstone as my backsplash under my upper cabinets....how do you level out the 3d stone to make the flange/cover fit?
Are there tie down locations in there to chain down a 6000lb skid loader?
Yes there is
Great... When a man needs to get information on LBW support during a new header install you get this $hit! Driving, driving, driving, la la la Daddy Daddy... HEY, I get it! I have kids too but this isn't the time/place for it. Jeez..... let's go find a grown-up instructional video.
I would have lost sleep having to bear down on the faucet arm like that. Delta blew it with this one, they should have designed flats into the faucet nipple. Ridiculous failure.
Looking at your plywood mock up gave me an idea: Would mounting ply on top of the studs, rather than (or in addition to) mounting the 3/4 flush behind the drywall be a good idea? It would be an extra cut for drywaller, but I'm thinking it would be stronger overall.
Very good idea !
Definitely the best video I've seen Most say how it easy it is and then they way they explained it makes it very complicated. So thank you. One video I can't seem to find is how to cut crown molding when all the ceilings are vaulted? Not cathedral
Thank you Much appreciated
Thanks for sharing these tips. I am saving a ton of money on pot fillers on Amazon! I have spent hundreds on these.
Great video
Thank you,hope it helps!
Thank you for useful video.
Followed your advice worked out perfect thank you 😊
Awesome!
If only all DIY videos were this good. Thanks!
Thank you so much
BTW…I’d placed a small clear adhesive bumper on back part of finished pot-holder where faucet hits tile…
Really good idea
I may have missed it…Make certain drop-ear/nipple is dead center level
Thank you for sharing! Got some helpful insight!!!!
Thank you! I’m glad it could help you
Good video man.
Thank you. Much appreciated
Great video and very helpful, what length nipple did you use for this? Thanks
You are actually taking away weight from the front wheels when you inflate the airbags with a trailer. You should just upgrade the rear springs to a progressive spring. The air bags are good when bed is full to level truck. They aren't really for leveling with a trailer. ua-cam.com/video/XBZu39pQ8Gg/v-deo.html
Thanks for the great info. Your wall set up is 2x6. Mine is 2x4 How deep is the ( set back from stud face) to the face of the shower nib ?
in my experience, overtightening was not the key. the water-tight seal on pot fillers is all about sealant and Teflon taping. you don't have to spin that all the way in. just stop when it stays on the right angle, water test, and then allen key it to the flange.
I'll be doing this soon. I think I'll be sistering the rafters first though.
Man I’m pretty sure that fill arm isn’t designed to be used as a pry bar.
Thank you for the great step by step instructions. Much appreciated.
Why not make the rafters into web trusses and get the full cathedral ceilings
We follow the architects plans
How much for an engineer to draw it up to raise the ceilings?
