- Hey all! Sonic Movie 3 news has gotten me revisiting the classics and what better to keep my skills sharp than to reinvision the most iconic moment of the Adventure games!
This was a for-fun project done in 3/4 days, I could've spent weeks improving every little thing and fixing a few graphical bugs but I'm fairly happy with the result as is.

The moon in the background is a cool detail!
The effect of the ARk entering the atmosphere is already present in SA2B if you make the fight last long enough. :)

Man, imagine this fight with Frontiers style combat.
Imagine seeing this fight in Movie 3.
Imagine another video like this, in which the Finalhazard battle is recreated, but looks like a Live Action Film, Sonic and Shadow look same, and it’s with frontiers style combat, with an Epic Mashup of Normal Life n Learn and its Epic Orchestral Version
Yeah maybe it’s harder to catch up to it, there’s rings scattered around and then you wail on the red swelling point

That’s honestly what I thought the new sonic game would be it’s just another cash grab
Would remakes even be any good at this point? I can't imagine them doing a faithful recreation of Sonic Adventure gameplay and not a horrid mishmash of everything 3D Sonic's been doing for the past decade.
Given the current direction Sonic is going (boost, button mashing combat), I'd rather not have remakes at all

God, 8 yr old me thought this was absolutely PEAK gaming experience. I'll never forget this game, it was my first gamecube game and the first official game I got when I bulit my first PC 10 years ago.
WHAT A MASTERPIECE!!! Especially this part 2:50 and 3:05 a taste of what could happen in Sonic 3...
now, THIS is how u make an Unreal Engine fan remake!! This has all the visual style and essence of Sonic and it doesn't look soulless, with stiff animations or bad looking models!! AMAZING JOB!!!

Friendly observations:
1) The ARK and the bio lizard look kinda dark. I think that could be a detriment in gameplay
2) The sky looks empty, the original is more filled with stars
3) The camera angles for the fight are weird. If i don't misremember, the OG is closer to Sonic/and Shadow
4)I'd also pay attention to the cinematic angles, the shake and the pan at the beginning seem of in comparison to the OG
I don't know if this is helpful or if other users can point the same things, just wanted to help

Oh wow, that's impressive ! The beam cannon effects... very pretty. And the recreation of the final cutscene with Sonic and Shadow warping the colony away with Chaos Control... Very nice effort

Now this is the sonic adventure 2 remake that I want to see SEGA PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN
I do wonder how they are going to portray this in the movie because if they go with the option of shadow falls to earth and gets amnesia and then G.U.N possibly convinces him to join them that would open up the potential for a shadow series or have him be a returning character if they make a fourth movie where as if they have shadow sacrifice himself instead and all that’s left is his one of his inhibitor rings that would be more cinematic I think
They didn't use Chaos in any of the previous movies, so I'm not too confident they're gonna use Biolizard either. Although Chaos has the downside of its design being mostly water, and water is a pain to recreate in animation.

I 100% agree, it would be a major dissapointing crime for that studio to not adapt this part into that upcoming movie, they can't be allowed to leave it out of that feature film or replace it with a different battle scene!
@@Hedgie3 I can just imagine this part in Sonic 3 where sonic tries to give egg man a fake emerald, then eggman traps and ejects sonic out the space colony arc. Then even better, Tails rages and tries to get revenge.

I just did not know I needed an HD version of the SA2 style Space Colony ARK model until now, thank you. Also, the beam sound? It is very, very good!

It would be great if Sega remade both adventure games in UE5 as the Sonic aesthetic really pops with it. Great job on this. This is a childhood classic for me.

Visually MUCH better than your previous sonic adventure 1 work. I think what helps is that SA2 was going for a more realistic aesthetic compared to the 1st game so making UE5 remakes won’t look as weird and jarring. It’s not perfect but 100% an improvement over your other projects so good job

Thanks for sharing the video! Sonic Adventure 2 was actually the very first game I played on Dreamcast, so watching this brought back a flood of nostalgic memories. It's amazing how a game from our childhood can still bring so much joy and warmth. Sonic Adventure 2 will always hold a special place in my heart!❤❤
I like the change of instead of dodging Final Hazard’s mines, it’s the falling debris from the arc.
Pretty good. My favorite detail was seeing the moon in the background damaged.

Nicely done @JeliLiam It'll be great to compare this to Sonic Shadow Generation in the fall alongside the 3rd movie. 1st Biolizard fight is definitely in the game, but I doubt we'll see either in the 3rd movie unless the studio really shoots for the moon (literally). We'll see. Great time to be a Sonic fan. Thank you again for making this in Unreal Engine 5.
pretty good the only bit that is just off for me is when finalhazard take's a hit and stiffens during it's screach but besides that good job. also just curious how long did this take to make?
This is amazing! the graphics, The Gameplay it all looks amazing! Not to mention you can see the ark getting closer and closer to the earth it’s a really nice touch!
Awesome job! I really like how the moon is in the background still damaged and the added effect of the ark heading into the atmosphere.

I struggle to find the works to describe how amazing this is! I've lost count how many times i fought this boss, back in the days on the dreamcast. It gave me goosebumps bumps back then, because how great the experience was. And now this amazing fan recreation has giving me that same feeling. Loved every bit of this!

This is really good! My only complaint is that sonic and shadow are literal white dots. Their brightness needs to be toned down a notch.
When I was a kid I had a friend who was ~2 years older than me. I really looked up to him and he introduced me to Sonic. I remember once he came over to my house when I was on this boss and we did it together. He played the shadow parts and I played the sonic parts. We lost contact for a while but I found him almost 10 years later. He got kicked out of his house and was hanging out at a local McDonald’s alone. My family and I took him in and the first thing we did was boot up SA2 and hang out like old times.
Definitely appreciate that you kept this looking like a cartoon (like it should be).
I've seen some Unreal Engine recreations of the Sonic Adventure era that try to go for a hyper-realistic look and it just looks wrong once you put Sonic in there.
For a 4 day project, this will impressively well done and a tasteful application of the modern graphics engine.

I still prefer Shadow taking off his inhibitor rings in the Sonic X adaptation, but this is more true to the original game so I can't complain at that. Great work.

One detail that's missing here is when you tap the button when you're near the weakpoint, you'll do a dash with an afterimage effect. It comes in clutch when you're weaving through the dense obstacles, and adds some visual impact to the fight.

Why we don't have an HD remake of Sonic Adventure 2 yet is beyond me. I guess SEGA doesn't like money. But at least this gives us a glimpse of what we could have.

I've always thought this is one of those games they actually don't want to screw up a remake with because of how much the story/cast of Sonic changes. But I'm betting it's actually any number of reasons why, like finding out how to monetize it, maybe it's a buggy port and they'll want to start from the ground up and the team hasn't figured out how to restyle the physics in a new fun way.

VERY nice work. My only critique is that the Biolizard's movement during the gameplay moments is virtually nonexistent. A little movement would really kick up the realism.
There’s too much bloom on the supers but oh WOW this looks AMAZING
