Nice to have fellows helping out the novice and not be selfish 🤗
Right on dude, me and my old lady are just getting into mushrooming now as a way to get out of the house and lose some weight, this provided a TON of much needed information to brand new beginners like us 😂 thank you, man!
Oakridge is booming 💥
Good job guys! I live in burns haha. Went out and found a few today as well.
Sweet! Keep grinding they're coming in slow so just keep hiking!
Great job guys! All your tips and guidelines for morel hunting/habitat are perfectly in line with what I've noticed, too. Awesome stuff.
Think there's still some time left... Malheur area, Wallowa, etc.?
schuyler klaassen you might get lucky if the altitude is right and the soil is still holding the correct nutrition. I was at 5k feet around some old burn and good vegetation and wasn’t seeing any last week.
So good to see folks who knows what they are doing just watched another video and they totally destroyed the whole patch and I'm a Oregonian so I love the content keep up the good work
John Mat hey thanks man that really means a lot we’re just out here learning as we go! Enjoying the opportunities we have available here in Oregon.
hey guys, i really like your video. Thank You! i live in the portland area. would it be better to look towards the costal mountain range or the cascade mountain range?
Dustin Heathman If it we’re my choice, I’d be heading to the cascades.
Got a few out of baker.
They're out there! Good Luck!
Any this year yet? Are you finding any above 4000’ yet? Great video.....
Satellite Hunter yeah starting to! we’re heading out to a honey hole just above 4k this weekend, was going to film another video for y’all.
Exploregon Outdoors we’re out in the Ches and finding new poppers at 4,500’ good luck and let’s see em.
where in Oregon are you? Im in Hood River I would love to go out with you some time and learn the ropes.
Pendleton, OR
Do the blonde's look the same when cut lengthwise? Just picked and was hesitant about cream colored ones, is it just me or do the blonde tops look different, like wavy versus(some slightly flatter in appearance) the typical black top 'honeycomb' black appearance. Thanks!
Greg the wavy top brown mushrooms are called false morels or calf brains. The blondes are just very tan morels you will know right away. The calf brain has no holes or honeycomb. Where blonde and grey morels always will.
@@ExploregonOutdoors I think I saw the calf brain your talking about. I saw many in younger state, about 2-3" irregular round brown glistening wet looking deals. Does the pattern on a blonde seem slightly different to you than black? Does the shape of the top(hesitate to say cap) of a blonde seem more round then cone like on a black? Thanks for the response!
Use paper bags so we think you know what's doing.
Sure those weren't false morels guys?
Johnny Deplorable 110% these were morels
False are orange too. They were real.
Please cut them don’t pull them out of the ground. Be sustainable. I live up here and so many people trample through here looking for morels and boletes
Did you even watch the video? We cut almost every one. They trample through because there aren’t resources showing the proper techniques and areas to pursue so congestion is a problem in eastern Oregon. If you want to get out and film something to show people your methods I would highly encourage that. Thanks for watching
It's his spot, he can pick it however he wants, Karen.
