The thing you will like most about this Cat is that it will ride higher on the wave allowing you a great view of Uranus when it’s low in the morning sky.
"I know where you live!!" Ha ha ha ha!!!! Natalia you are so well spoken and your narration is as professional as your editing. Great Job!! Nice boat!.....⛵⛵⛵
Nice video. Good music and fun content. Congratulations on the new boat. Go slow and do what’s needed but get to know her before going all out. That’s my tip of the day.
I was told this many boat purchases ago and I believe it to be true. You don't know what you have paid for a boat until you have owned it for one year.
Good luck guys, I hope it works out for you. I'm retiring from the army while I'm still young enough to set off around the world on my boat. So do your time and then do what you WANT to do.
Natalia, I appreciate how easily you talk to the camera. I'm sure it's a little weird at the time when recording, but you come across very natural. Good job.
The shaft stuffing box is bugger all ,, find out your size and you buy it by the foot ,, I havent used it on boats but the same packing and principal is used on irrigation water pumps ,,
Happy for you guys. Great boat. As a Catalina owner i know you will enjoy the boat. By the way there are more production boats crossing oceans than so call blue water boats so you will have no problem crossing with that boat.
Hi guys, I just noticed a comment I made on a previous video ended up on this video, how ever that happened. Anyway I'm here now, I've gone through all your previous videos from the start and loved every single one of them, I'm up to date and waiting on the next instalment. When you make it to this side of the Atlantic and pull into an Irish port I'd love to buy you a pint and have the craic. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Fun posting for a brand new subscriber! I've got to catch up with your site so I'm not asking answered questions. Not too sure about the in the boom furling.
Excellent Episode.. I hope all goes according to plan because that is a very fine 20 year old boat... What will you call her.. except Our New Love .hmmm ??😊
I will say, congrats on the rename of the channel! I was surprised by the different name popping up in my feed. Good thing I recognized it! Hope you guys are doing alright, fair winds and following seas, hope to see you out there somday
Seems like a nice boat. Good luck. Couple of notes, Catalina smile really is only on pre-1988 boats when Catalina used wood in the keel stub. The wood rots causing the smile. My vote is Dripless adapter over traditional stuffing box. My current preferred unit is the LasDrop Gen 2. Does the boat have a type 1 or type 2 linear drive for the autopilot? The type 1 is fine for fair weather sailing but would definitely recommend the type 2 upgrade for cruising. Fair winds
Thanks! Glad we can avoid the Catalina smile at any and all costs 😊 we currently have the Raymarine ST-6000 autopilot and as we learn the boat we’ll start seeing what we need to upgrade..etc!
@sailingposttime Thank you. I did watch the video of you guys making the purchase and having the boat surveyed. I'm always trying to get ahead of the game. The more I know, the better. I'm very excited to start my sailing journey.
From what I understand being a Blue water boat is a rating that’s put on a boat. All production boats have boats that are rated for ocean crossing or Blue water. So to know what this boat is you need to look it up on the internet and enter make and model to see what it is rated for. Coastal cruiser or deep water boat. A custom boat mayor may not be built better. And Catalina holds their value really well if taken care of. Good luck, that is a real nice boat.
..... What!!!! ..... my impression was that you were so ingenious coming up with your channel name, something that would stand out as well as if you change boats which you surely will, your brand is not dependent on the boat name ... I realize you have your reasons and you have to go with your gut, just my two bits worth ...... laughing ... yes in the cruising world, or what is portrayed on many channels that people are too close with their boats and then you go into the racing world and close has a totally different definition .. have seen aerial clips of 50 foot racers coming around the buoy were not only do think there will be contact with the hulls, but the masts are going to get entangled .. tense moments sitting here watching on the screen as they carry on as if it was no big deal .... I guess that is that thing that your boat is capable of withstanding a lot, the real thing is the skipper and crew knowing what their capabilities are. No you do not want to be red-lining your boats capabilities ... Guess it is like your first docking ever compared to your last docking, bet it has evolved incredibly .. not trying to be a smartass/know-it-all, just putting out what I hope are thought provokers ..... think you made the right choice going sailing as opposed the the other itinerary you had laid out .... had to chuckle around your convo of the nothing over 500 .... so you now have two boats or have you sold your other ..... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...
@@sailingposttime .... laughing ..... But! But! .. anytime you are heading in the same direction as another boat, you do not have to have communicated with them, the race is on ... smilin ... thx for the reply ... make it an impressionable week ......
Good video, horrible music ! You don’t need that kind of music, just leave the ambiant sounds. You can have a musical intro for the first 30 seconds as a signature.

Thanks. I’ll be following your journey.
subscribed because of the Lupus Nocte & Zorro intro. This gives the intro a lot of style.
Natalia, I appreciate how easily you talk to the camera. I'm sure it's a little weird at the time when recording, but you come across very natural. Good job.
Thank you so much! It means a lot and I am glad it feels natural. The goal is to make everyone feel like they are there with us!

Welcome to the Yay Area, Glad you had fun and hope all goes well for you both.
Thanks so much!
Congrats to you! Sounds like you're getting a pretty good deal on a lightly used, well maintained boat!
Thank you so much- we are looking forward to what is up ahead!

@@sailingposttime lol I gotta learn how to edit from someone 😂 I can’t keep any consistency when recording.

I'm looking at one right now. Any tips or things I should consider when buying a 1989 catalina 42 shoal draft.
I love your adventures.
Thanks so much! Always check for a Catalina smile and to just ensure she was well maintained!

Loved this editing on the video.
Yay! Glad you liked it!
Hope you get the boat. I can't wait to watch you crossing the Pacific. CONGRATS for the 23K+ views in your previous video.
Thank you! We were blown away by the support last week! Thanks for being here 😊😊
Happy for you guys, Catalina owner my self
Cheers to Catalina’s! 🥂
Roll Tide!!!!
ROLL TIDE ROLLLLLL! Thank you for watching James!
There are some nice places to eat in Sausalito or TIburon. Nice looking boat, you've done your homework.
Thank you! And agreed- we found some great little places to eat in Sausalito!

Very good point, thank you!!
The sail needs to go to a.....Sail Loft
Winning a sailing race does not make him a swell surveyor automatically…….
Hmmm, I'm worried about that $500 job. Only $500 only.
$500 is the equivalent of one boat buck hahaha.
