Truly saying so cool yacht! Fin-keel is amazing! But it’s really hard to understand what is the material of the hull? When surveyor use hammer it sounds like a fibreglass but bulkheads look like aluminium or steel. But everything made so wise for blue water sailing ;) lucky you ;)
Hi Ernest, I was looking for a boat that would be comfortable to live on but also safe, fast, and stable while blue water cruising. Generally, I was looking for either a catamaran or monohull in the 40-50ft range. Indeed, there are many choices out there so the next criteria by which I narrowed down my search was price (I was willing to buy the boat just about anywhere in the world). The boat market in NY (where I am from) is very pricey so I knew I was going to have to look elsewhere. I also wanted to get away from the cold weather in the NE U.S. Basically, I did a lot of searching online and spent a fair amount of time traveling during my time off looking at yachts. After going to various places, I finally stumbled upon New Horizons and she ticked off every box. I have sailed since I was a child. Of course there are a lot more details. I will probably include this in an episode or a written blog at some point. Are you a sailor?
“How to” do a boat survey…survey is already happening. Just a video of following the surveyor around. No description of “how” to do anything. 🤷♂️ Pointless video.

Thanks! The hull is FRP (fiberglass).
I was raised in Huntington Beach California. Now Memphis. Why did you pick this boat? So many choices out there. Have you sailed much?
