  • NFL fans, this is a little tutorial on how to remove a nameplate from a Nike jersey. It starts with some background info on how jerseys are printed...
    -game jerseys are screen printed (better quality) and run $100..."game" does not mean they are used by the players in games, it is just the name that Nike uses in place of "replica" which Rebook used
    -customized/personalized jerseys are heat pressed and run $150
    -more info can be found here: m.dickssportin...
    I removed the nameplate from a Jay Ajayi #23 jersey with a seam ripper and removed the leftover adhesive from the jersey with nail polish remover and by running it through the wash. My local sporting goods store added my last name in a different font for $5. If you want to match the font, the jersey was originally printed with Pro Block.

    Definitely doing this on my Broncos Drew Lock jersey and repurposing it for Russell Wilson! Thank you!

    I did this with my Lock jersey, now a Wilson jersey. It was pretty tedious but it definitely worked. I used a combination of nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol to remove the adhesive. I also used a damp towel with an iron and that helped too. The biggest problem I had was that the old stitch marks were still visible once the name plate was removed. I ended up making a new name plate and sewing it on, so it wasn’t a big deal, but something to keep in mind.

      May I ask how ya did your new nameplate? I font matched dead on to do the correct name with my cricut, but I was planning on just ironing directly to the jersey.

    • @brentongiordano3077
      @brentongiordano3077 Рік тому

      @@webby37 I had an old Broncos jersey that I cut the fabric from, so it was the same material. I used a cricut too for the lettering. It ironed onto the nameplate fabric without issue. So hypothetically, it could have worked right onto the jersey too. I just needed the new nameplate to cover up stitch holes in the jersey from the old nameplate.

      Broncos fandom aside (#ChiefsKingdom, let's ride!😂), this was an awesome and helpful comment! I didn't have any extra scrap, which kind of sucks. I considered using the back side of the nameplate I pulled off, but nah... unfortunately I'm just going to have to iron directly onto the jersey. But I guess that's the only way to change my #32 Honey Badget to a Nick Bolton! :) Thanks!

    After cutting the threads with the seam ripper you could also heat up that name placard with a steam iron, the heat should loosen the adhesive and it should peel right off

    I bought a Landon Collins jersey back in 2017 and immediately he just signed with Redskins 1 season later. I'm going to try and remove his nameplate and replace it with my last name instead keeping the original number because like you stated in the video, the numbers are print pressed (high quality).
