i love this! a friend of mine has a GS500 aswell, and i begged him to repair it for him! and he let me do so, now this is definitely give me a headstart! thank you!
I have gs500e but the rear brake pads set is not complete. I mean when I pulled the brake pads out there was no backplate attached with them and also there was no clip on top of them.
I suppose you could manage without a back plate. Not recommended.. but if there's no clip, the pads will wear down very quickly... I'm trying to find a new caliper that is more common in my local market. Something I can mount without any modifications
Well I don't know how well your bill didn't coming along but I have gotten stuck on the carburetors so I'm going to cave and take it down to a motorcycle shop and just have them put them on for me so I can't get them working properly
Do you know where I could get the head gaskets for this motor that is the only thing that is holding me up I can't find them the only place I have found them is eBay and I don't want to wait 2 months to get them if you have anywhere better I'd greatly appreciate a point in the right direction
Hey , I'm so sorry for such a late response. Did you end up finding something reliable? I prefer getting them made from a service here. I wouldn't know anything about the online shopping situation for that. 🤔 If you've found something, do tell me. 😬
@@projectmak1750 this weekend I should be putting the bike back together might have a small startup video see how well the overlapping works on the valves

i´m in the same project with similar gs 500 of 99, but my mechanical skills are poor. Thanks you for showing me the way
Do share the progress.. I'm sure we can both gain some wisdom

Have you gotten the bike back together
Been a bit busy trying to get a new workshop setup.. half way done. Just left with assembling the engine. Might go for a complete swap.
