That parking lot needs a FENCE on the end. No way anyone would NOT know that its not an exit at first glance, Especially since its a disabled parking area at a hospital.
Agreed, and thats the point, profesional operators(Such as this fella) can see the danger to the public, and place as much "HAZARD" barriers as possible to prevent injury(Unlike north america where no one gives a dam about tow op's safety)
What a fantastic recovery truck and also a first class recovery driver who cares about people’s property and not just pull it out and damage it and say well your fault and I need to get to my next job, very professional brilliant
Tell me you live in Stafford without telling me you live in Stafford "I came out of my house this morning and someone had had the wheels off my golf buggy and left it up on bricks"
You are right. The design of that car park is not good. As you say, they definitely need bollards or at the very least a simple fence that is high enough to be visible so that people don't mistake it to be the exit.
Good job 👌 you're right. Implementing health and safety measures is essential should something go wrong. Decent man, giving the £10 back to the couple. 👍
Nice truck and a good setup, the best place to pull that car was the rear axle you was spot on. Those Peugeot towing eyes are rubbish and aren’t man enough for the job and snap like carrots 🥕
Really interesting job that. Unusual! Hope it never happens to me! My car's not an auto though. I am a wheelchair traveller, so I'm in the back and have drivers!
Nice job greg, takes longer sometimes to set up and pack up than it does doing the job, that phone never stops m8 you need a glamorous assistant to answer the phone😂ive seen some idiot in the comments saying they wouldn't have taken any money off them because they are pensioners but my reply to them was so if every customer was a pensioner they would soon be out of business, carry on the good honest work 🙂👍
Thanks yep its the setting up and packing up takes time, doing the job most times is the easy part! Yes a few assistants would be great! I do struggle everyday tbh! Yeah ive seen it not worth my energy 😂
@gdbrescuerecovery no I agree you're energy is better put somewhere else but it pisses me off when you have someone in the same field as you absolutely talking shite and trying to put someone else down thinking they are some kind of hero but in reality they are the opposite
It's only if you need to increase subscribers to your channel substantially that doing a free or reduced-cost recovery for pensioners with Blue Badge would be a good idea. You can't really ask them if they're on means-tested Pension Credit and truly don't have spare money. That hospital needs to put a fence or plants there to reduce the hazard.
That car park is ridiculous! An accident waiting to happen! The owners of the car park (often not the hospital) should be held liable for future 'accidents' if they don't install a barrier as a matter of urgency. It's easy to blame the motorist, but visibility is obviously an issue - and people visiting a hospital often have other things on their minds, so the car park needs to be idiot-proofed! After all, the car park owners are making easy money...
When I was doing breakdown and recovery we had a book of rules to follow when we got on scene cones going out warning signs ect it could take long setting up the safety than doing the job people couldn't understand spending about 30 mins settling up for a 10 to 15 minute job but it saved our backsides when something went wrong not on scene there was a few accidents the thing that saved us the site was set up by the book only for that we could have been held liable for the accidents even though it was caused by bad driving of the motorists don't cut corners setting up things can go wrong That's out of your control they even measured the distance of the cones and warning signs from the scene and the position of recovery vehicle and service van and angle they were parked it everything was OK and most importantly get people away to safety from the side of the road so if the vehicles are struck they can't be hit by them it does happen even if its raining get them away from the vehicles they might be passed about getting wet but they'll still be alive
Very true but the more the rear is raised, the lower the front when comes back over kerb. Could of tow roped and pulled in 30 seconds also, but with an audience around better to play safe.
Greg is sound, he obviously does have morals, he made sure he tested the car before the old couple which a lot of people wouldn’t do, he was as fast as possible. He gave the couple the £10 overpayment back which trust me alot of recovery companies wouldn’t they are sneaky. Personally though I would have said just give me £100 as the job was easy enough, at a hospital and you could see the old couple weren’t loaded but he isn’t running a charity but in future I’m sure if the same situation happened again with an old couple struggling he wouldn’t except the full payment. Seen some comments regarding his prices aswell for things like tyre callout. I drive down the m6 everyday and trust me it’s full of crashes and dodgy drivers, emergency call out for a new tyre in such a dangerous place is why it’s like £350-£400 you are paying for the same day tyre change in an emergency situation.
ive worked it out already she just drove to leave the carpark and it was the wrong way to go oh shit a curb but ill keep going ..i love this green truck well kool .is it drivable on a car licence ,thats a disgusting carprk no poles at the end or even a bin .
my first car was written off in hospital car park, what is with people slipping clutch and full gas instead brake. old lady false plates slips her clutch getting the ticket at barrier instead brake she has run up of around 30ft as i back line queuing cars she hit me once bounces off and comes back at me again pushing me in to few week old brand new car. bent the frame of my first car fiesta 07. she was never caught and for her sake i never meet her again at hospital as sadly i visit far to often. cannot say woke tube id like to do if w ever meet face to face, but i did have to make claim through my insurance and got me a good car so im sure they like her name to sue her. any crash always run plates through gov website if i did that the plate would came back to nothing as never been used
Love your content. But this is one long winded way to go about this when you have that beast of a truck. Would have been easier to just clamp the rear wheels and give it a big smash on the loud pedal. 20+ years of commercial truck tyre fitting taught me that all the cones and hi vis things you can possibly have won’t save you, never waited for highways ever in my life if I they can’t see a big set of flashing beacons they aren’t gonna see a traffic cone. Quicker the safer mate simple as.
Certainly could of done it in 2 mins bang a rope on and pull. But when youve got mds and staff and public watching and walking by, Better to be slow and steady and win the race.
He didn't "take it off".. I'm sure they were quoted a price before deciding to book him and could have phoned around and chosen someone else if they wanted. The fee covers his time, experience, equipment, insurance, taxes, profit margin, ...
Maybe the cost involved will make them a bit more cautious next time. If you have a bloody huge bill for something, you do all you can to avoid a repeat :)

Yeah sometimes that can happen, then all of a sudden its all at once! Thanks for watching! GDB

woo-woos on, reverse up, spec the front, lift up, h/brake off, shove it back onto the carpark...
no sense of adventure these younguns...

@@GDBRescueandrecovery no, spec the FRONT + push it back up

It's not even a regular parking spot, it's a disabled one. They *definitely* need bollards.
where about on the axles do you recover from? I appreciate they're not ideal to recover from.
Master Class, Sir ! Total perfectionist:-) An absolute Legend. You are a total joy to watch.🏆🥇🏆🥇🏆🥇🏆🥇
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I wouldn't suggest it needs bollards because it keeps you in work.
The BBC (Belly Button Camera) came into its own there!
Is it possible to use air bags that are used to recover boats up beaches for jobs such as this ?
Nice job Greg 💯
Thanks appreciated it! GDB
Did he attract an overstay parking fine…?
The people just bumbling around near the recovery and winch line are driving me nuts. Get out of the way.
The bit where the car went off needs a barrier (like a motorway crash barrier) with No Exit written behind it! That kerb is useless
Very true indeed!
How did he go over the curb if the rear wheels are blocked by the parking brake or parking?
Drove straight forward

Couple of blokes could have simple shoved that down the bank. Job done without silly cones all over the place 😅
Very true, but with alot of people watching rather play it safe.
Quick nudge with the front bumper - job done! 😁
Surely that’s not a parking spot 😂
Your very hot 🔥 on health & safety well done lad
Oh dear. Seems you dropped a right "clanger" with this video.
I would suggest converting it over to RHD but your selling it anyway so.
