  • Mo Dakhil, former video coordinator for the Spurs and Clippers, joins us today from bit.ly/2fudT6y to discuss the Cleveland Cavaliers Iverson Cut series and how it opens up such easy shots for LeBron James. Named after Allen Iverson, this cut allows a scorer space to attack on the wing, but there are a ton of options out of it.

    Great series, love the diagrams, they're very helpful as they give us a visual for the explanation. Would love to see more of these coach! Also, a breakdown of how Kyle Korver fits in the Cavs would be a great vid!

    What about the play where lebron stands on the left wing and two players are screening for each other near the left corner and one gets free for a corner three ( usually channing frye ) can you break it down coach?
    They use that play a lot and I love it

    Lou Williams (Lakers) is the best in the NBA running Iverson Cut as a shooter. Dude learned it as a teammate of Allen Iverson.

    these are great ATO sets. it seems that a lot of modern nba sets love to use 2 screeners right next to each other to help free the same man, and then one of the screeners will further get another action (like a flare screen from the other screener, or get the ball to be a playmaker)

  • @linhe6729

    Love these plays. The Cavs should run more plays. I thought Kyrie ISO too much some times, but he's one of the best one on one players. Warriors run many more plays and are also nice to watch.

    The man himself used the Iverson Cut to Catch & Score.
    I hope the Lakers keep Iverson Cut in their playbook, Lonzo Ball likes to shoot going Left also.

    • @MoDakhil1
      @MoDakhil1 7 років тому +1

      Yes and No. I think the bigger difference is buy in from the players. That has to be earned by a coach in my opinion and it's clear that Blatt didn't and Lue did.

    My Lakers really tripped, I KNOW before you say it. Tank Mode & late 1st round pick. Jordan Clarkson runs it now, but they don't pass him the ball. He needs to perfect that LEFT CORNER fade with it, because teams fear him driving right.

    I'd like to see Kyle Korver's impact on this kind of set that the Cavs run

    • @MoDakhil1
      @MoDakhil1 7 років тому

      He is going to fit perfectly in these sets, he can come off the comeback screen, he would do a good job curling around the pick like Smith did on the backdoor. I'm sure they have more wrinkles that we haven't seen yet too
