YES: Turbo 1JZ-Swapped Mitsubishi Starion - (Track) One Take
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 вер 2017
- This ultra-clean Mitsubishi Starion is a street car, and has never been on a race track before. But it was so cool we couldn't help but see how it would hold up to a few laps, and its owner was an incredibly good sport. Aside from brakes not entirely up to track work, the 400+ horsepower 1JZ, chassis, and steering were shockingly competent, lap after lap.
This video was filmed at the #GRIDLIFE Motorsports and Music Festival, Gingerman Raceway, June 2017. For more info about upcoming #GRIDLIFE events, visit: www.grid.life

1,000,001 reasons why he didn't spend money on upgraded brakes
One of my first car crushes growing up. Still looks pretty decent.
I have not seen a Mitsubishi Starion out in the wild in decades. I am so happy to hear that this one is still out running around, they are really cool cars.
This is one of the best Starions out there. Most of you have no idea what this car used to look like or be. The work Mike has put in is inspirational. I personally own a Starion and the stock brakes really aren't bad at all. Overall this car is amazing and the people complaining about the brakes don't even know how to change brake pads.
Man I love that it has the original wheels. I had a red one back in the 90s and I wish I'd kept it.
If ever there was a car that really suited a 1JZ conversion it is that car. That thing looks and sounds awesome.
I still love Conquests/Starions after all these years. Bought my first in high school (decades ago). Need to find another one some day.
Man oh man, a Starion always makes me think of Jackie Chan and Richard Kiel driving the gadget-laden 1983 Starion Turbo in Cannonball Run 2. Love that movie!
I was lightly trying to keep up with one of these tuner built in my stock 93 tbird SC without getting into trouble late at night and he just walked away in a serious way. The fat rear meats and the racing fuel put a smile on my face
Car could have a BBK and people would still find something to bitch about. Personally, the car is badass. Stock brakes or not.
These Starions look so tough why are they not more popular?
I truly respect the people who still build & drive these cars as I wish I had the time to do it.
B4 every1 shits on the guy 4 having stock brakes and a squared tire setup Matt did say this was a street car he probably doesn't track it. He probably just pulls on cars on the freeway as a sleeper and stock brakes are probably good enough for that even tho I'd feel more comfortable with upgraded tires and brakes either way pretty fkn nice build
450whp = more mild build... I love this channel sometimes.
I always loved that body style.
The looks of that Car will never go out of style, it was ahead of its time.
Good to see some love for the 1JZ
Man that's a really clean and cool build. Well done
Matt must love it when the UPS truck pulls away after a delivery.
I remember seeing this car on facebook, like 2 years ago doing a dyno pull. I love the boxiness of the Starion
