One thing I don't see in Tutorials is how to view Money and the Vendor caps in this Game. The Vendor cap that you refresh is only the excess money you can make, but not the value you can extract from the vendor. You only need excess money for buying and upgrading ships, so you don't need that much of it in a normal game and there are more fun sources of excess money. The real trick to understand is that you NEVER spend your excess money unless you have to. So what you actually do is buy ammo (weightless and expensive), med packs (the basic ones are weightless) and digipicks (weightless) in large amounts and then offset the cost with things you sell. If you don't care about weight because you are outpost farming, you can also just buy up all ressources for easy crafting and science (don't select, just take everything and dump it at the lodge). This saves you a ton of time sitting and sleeping and later on you don't need to spend money on ammo because you have tons of it. The crafting is much faster than converting it to excess money, so you can waste those products to a degree. The Motto should be: You don't get rich, but you get loaded! (as in: Loaded up with ressources measured in tons and your weapons loaded with ammo for a very long time). The biggest mistake is buying ammo and leaving the shop with less money in your pocket than before. As long as you sell enough to offset the cost, you will accumulate enough money overt time to play around with ships (the actual money sinks that you can't offset on the spot) as much as you like. If you really need ammo and don't have the goods to offset the cost, DON'T SLEEP. Just farm some Pirates to get their weapons and go back to the vendor to sell them. He will have all your money, so get it back before you sleep. There is no reason to let a vendor keep 40k of your credits and reset it to 5k. That's just time you have to waste sleeping later.
@@KhairulFadzlyAKarim Yes, the storage box in the cellar where the crafting benches are has unlimited storage. So even if you amass tons (as in literally thousands of kg) of materials, you can just dump them all there. You need to carry them to craft with them though, unlike in outposts. But this is the easiest method to switch between "overencumbered outpost mode" and normal questing. If you want to drag all that stuff to an outpost, it is quite a bit of overencumbered walking, but it gets better as soon as you have the personal atmosphere power which allows you to run overencumbered.
My ship is breaking its back carrying resources which i hardly ever use. Now i find an infinite box in the lodge work area 🙈 THANK YOU. Time to offload my ship.
back to bessel 3b for me and take down my stack of 40 boxes for each resource No wonder I have had to redo it a few times. didn't know about the link limits. also gotta go to the outposts I have done and take some down and consolidate and I also need to connect my transfer containers. I just been buildng them and that's it. No wonder I haven't been able to see resources from ship. duh.... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR MAKING THESE. They have been so helpful. Gonna go destroy a bunch of out posts now and redo them. Yay. I will be able to do it more quickly now. Bookmarking these separate from my other Starfield bookmarks. You sir get your own collections folder in my browser. LOL
I personally think money farm really boils down to how fast you can sell. I have sleep 1h -> pickup -> sell loop of 5 minutes long and every run I sell 29.5k at neon core, so I can sell about 360k credits worth of stuff in hour.
Glad you like them! I’m trying to focus on simple builds. But this video actually took me a long time to make. It takes me around 2 hours to hammer out a concept. But filming and getting every digit correct on such a large build and the editing. This took almost 36 hours to complete working on it every day after work.
@@TacticatGaming Wow! Well it shows - its quality - clear, understandable, etc. I appreciate the fact that you show things that will become 'building blocks' or ways to things we can apply later, maybe even on our own ;) lol Have a great weekend TC
Very helpful video. I like your format, explain everything and the reason for doing it. Just finished up my base. Had a ton of resources since I've been filling up that infinite storage in The Lodge. Didn't need to make the farms on the moons but did it anyway, just to learn something. Wow! Who would have guessed that outpost making would be so frustrating. Going into overhead view is the only way but it makes me want to throw things and cuss. For some reason my movement is super sensitive and it's hard to land on a storage crate and almost impossible to target the cargo links for deleting. Worked through it and have a fully functional base now. Thanks!!
You can go into build mode in first person by hitting F and then R - that’s how I do all my complicated linking. I place things in top view a bit I link on the ground
Sarah Morgan thinking "not again" as I punch in the co-ords for Venus. Knowing damn well I'm gonna get out of this cockpit, walk over to the couch, and stare catatonically at the wall for another 2400 hours
When you are buying med packs, you should look for trauma packs and, I think they are called emergency packs. They give you a higher percentage of health regen at a faster rate than the med packs.
this is awesome slowly scaling it up to your level to keep it organized but wow the potential. no matter where we sell over a hundred k worth at 5-11k a shot is a bit of a grind even on Venus but worth it.
I mainly keep 1000 mass - 600,000 credits on my ship and sell it for ammo and clean people out as a i travel - makes buying ammo and healing meds a breeze
And to everyone who is playing in German: The 2 plants you´re looking for are called - Spiralrebe - Buschelige Netzweide Oh, and "Tungsten" is called Wolfram. Just in case ;) Thanks for the guide! Awesome!
When building manufacturers, you can set the item they are going to make; I expect it's the same with greenhouses. Use the left-right arrows to change it while placing like in the ship builder for the modules with fore/mid/aft or the hab variants. I've reached the point at level 25 or so where I am not bothering to pickup anything but ammo and credits and meds from corpses or containers... (and books for the kid, who probably just wants more credits for her book fund). If the weapon or armor isn't basic, I'll grab it. Sitting on 400k credits, and unlikely to get piloting 4 any time soon for a C class upgrade. I'm not sure why I would want to do this in game for cash flow. Maybe starting next character but even then, it's the first dozen levels that are cash short.
In this game, you dont need to do anything, because every activity yields enough Credits so that you do not need to grind. It's not Bethesda's fault that we have a gazillion players out there who were mentally damaged by grindy games.
After watching this video and reading the comments I think what I'm going to do is, because I have almost 10,000 cargo available on my ship, I'm going to reduce that down to about 7500 for better mobility, and I'm going to keep a stock of $4, 000 lb of amp at any given time for a quick 300k if needed that way I could just play the game normally and sell wherever whenever to stockpile some money and not have to sleep. And then when I run low I can run back to my Outpost and restock the ship. You can sell all of it from your ship without having to carry it in your pockets. To me if you're trying to make money fast then yeah make a lot but if you just want to study flow of income and maybe keep 3 to 400,000 on you at any time for shipbuilding, this seems like the way to go. So I'm going to work on this and I'm going to abandon the adaptive frame farming. Because that is ridiculous. Walking around with 30,000 adaptive frames trying to sell them. Even my ship won't carry them all for three credits per.... When I do decide on a main base of operations, I'm going to link all the outposts there and just keep five storage containers for each material I want to sell be it adaptive frames or amp or whatever, and just grab and go every time I go back to base. And let the delivery ships do their thing. I heard about the bugs with the outpost links so I'll start off slow. But this is a great video. 👍
Great guide, thanks! Unless I completely misunderstood I think some of the numbers in your list of required resources were off. I had to go back for more benzine, iron, and aluminium. For example, I think you list 3 benzine but the required total was 15 or 18 from memory. To be clear, I'm not trying to have a go here. This is a fantastic guide in my opinion. Just wanted to inform you in case you were able to edit or something.
No need to apologize - this is an appropriate question - You should only need 3 Benzine for the pharmaceutical lab - i don't believe anything else requires benzine - correct me if i'm wrong? This is the only building that needed Benzine - did they patch something?
@@TacticatGaming I think maybe I misunderstood the list. I was under the impression that it was a list for the total materials required rather than per unit? Either way I had to do a couple extra supply runs but I'll be finishing off the lab later this evening.
@@TacticatGaming hmmmm I think when building the greenhouses it was using benzine, bringing the total up for me. I'll have to check this again later, maybe I didn't spec a required skill point or something, or I was just too damn high at the time lol. I'll be sure to come back and let you know once I'm back at the PC tonight.
lmfao! Pointedly explaining how the system is called Volii, not Vol2, then a few seconds later... "go first to the Shanghai Outfitters" I fucking died XD
When the hunter kills your friend as long as you have them carrying stuff for you before they die you will get another infinite box in the lodge downstairs. Just a fun little tip.
This is amazing! Subbed, and going to build this now. THANK YOU!! [UPDATE] Ran into an issue: Greenhouse wasn't available to me... what I think I was missing: I didn't have the Botany skill *before* I scanned the plants? So, even though I scanned to 100%, it never said "Outpost production allowed." I just got back on the game, now that I have rank 1 in Botany, all I had to do was find them again (even one that I already scanned), scan it one more time and the outpost allowed showed up. NOW I have Greenhouses in my build menu!!
It’s a very good build. I carry 300k worth in 2k storage on my ship and buy ammo, meds, and any remaining credits from vendors as I play. You can trade from your ship - that’s why I argue this is the best outpost for money because you can actually carry this with you
@@TacticatGaming was trying to set this up today and I don't have the "Builders" tab in the Outpost Builder. I have Extractors, Power, Storage, Structures, etc, but nothing that says "Builders". In fact, I think you have like 2-3 more yellow tabs at the top. I even researched Hortoculture 1 and ranked Outpost Engineering to 2. Am I missing something else?? Can't find greenhouses and I scanned the plants to 100%. What else could it be?
Sometimes the plants get bugged at 100% and are a solid blue - try scanning the plant one more time I’ve tested this on a lvl 17 with no skills but botany
@@TacticatGaming I updated my main comment. Pretty positive it was *just* because I did all my scanning *before* I unlocked Botany skill. Since I have it now, just went to each and rescanned and it is all working now. Oops on my part. Too eager. LOL
Great guide. Painful on the Xbox by having to hold the d-pad and left stick to drag the slider, but still doable. Maybe you can answer this question, some of my solid storage has 300 of either the metabolic or the toxins and others have 150. Same with Argon, some have the normal amount some have more, even sleeping on Venus for three cycles. Also the Yannick side quest in Neon gets you Amp for free, just tell him you don't know how to make it and he give you the supplies to learn it.
I think Sydonia on Mars is the best place to sell, it has 2 stores close with a cred-limit of around 12k . Unless you can find an outpost on Venus with a vendor...
figured out a way to stack rows in a cube. only tested w the large ones. place a large container, then place a small one in the corner you want to go towards. on top of the small one place a med one with half sticking over the way you want your stacks to go. place another small one uner the part that sticks out from the med one an then you can place another large exactly beside the first one. bit of a pia, but it works an is so much more neat imo
I'll try, to be honest i this is as good as you can get lmao. Snake oil sells for a little bit more and it also cures the poisoning that amp can cause - that might be my next video - other than that though - i mean low weight, high value, xp, money - this is peak money printing. don't need 12 outpost that take 50 hours to set up.. just two plants , water, and some argon and you're rich. I created a 12 gun c class ship today though that took out the whole fleet of 30 today though - so i might go over that.
I'm still new to outpost building - what's the point of the Transfer Station again? I see it lets you transfer production items onto your ship, but do you need to do that if you're using the Pharm bench on the ground to make the Amp? Or is it to allow you to do that all from your ship? The Pharm bench can pull from your storage that's in your Outpost radius already, I believe.
finally some useful information, that tip about dropping the stuff on the floor in your ship to get around storage caps ...👍...watch them patch that to make life miserable again
FYI Don't know if this was in the most recent patch, but playing on X-box and I just started. As of 4/5/24, I tried just dropping stuff in the ship and it is gone by the time I get to the next planet. Other then that, excellent vid! 😄
@@TacticatGaming While doing some testing, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I'm still using the very first ship you get. I was putting items on the floor of the cargo area in the bottom of the ship after you come down the ladder, towards the front of that section. I just tested a small amount on the floor of the main cabin and jumped to another planet. It stayed this time.😅
so I ran out of both iron and aluminum no huge deal just when and repeated the farming process but yeah those number somehow didnt work for me by a lot
I have done everything obvious in the video but the greenhouse is not available to build. I am wondering has a patch changed the requirements? I have reesearched it- but donesnt appear to build. Horticulture 1.
Thanks @@TacticatGaming What a bugged Piece of Shut..... I purposely did the plant 10 times after it hit 100%.... but doing again once when i had the horticuture and greenhouse appeared. The plants appeared blue again. You mentioned it- I didnt understand the context though. Greenhouses built. :)
Thank you for the guide! I’m having one problem and probably minor, but I don’t have the option to create the gardner robots. It’s not even a category in my outpost builder mode. Am I missing a skill that adds that option? I go though the build create options like structures, decorations, displays, etc. and no robots section.
That’s very odd you should have those three regardless of skill- you don’t need them though - honestly it’s overkill with the Venus wait - your storage will overflow
@@JamesBond-zd5jx Dude, i can get 11k credits simply by extorsion (piracy) in space. To build this shit to make money.. will take MORE TIME than anything i do currently. It's just stupid af. They work and all, but then i noticed that i wasted over 12 hours to make it all work and.. i never used them ever again. You really think that it's fun or engaging to farm XP by crafting? 19:35 "You got some king of... weird... weird thing going on..." I FEEL ATTACKED LEAVE MY WATER FACTORY ALONE XD Jokes aside, great guide! Can finally buy that ship I wanted. Gonna need to spend so much time waiting, but you've unlocked so many possibilities for me with this. Question, though: how do you personally deal with storing the resources? I noticed your storage area was empty when you showed it in the Lodge. Do you just carry everything on your ship? I have many thousands of kg of resources and can't possibly store it all on the ship. Running back and from the Lodge is a hassle and I haven't gotten around to upgrading my ship yet (hence why I'm watching this guide for credits lol)
@@TacticatGaming Oh yeah you mentioned that in the vid! I just thought there was a better solution. Knowing me I'll definitely designate a room for this and organize in nicely like a warehouse. Thank you!
This is a real game changer and I am loving it. There is One thing I noticed when I started doing this I was rank 2 on the commerce perk. After doing 2 or 3 batches I was able to level up to rank 4. However the merchants' price they gave for amp did not change. It remained at 4,995 credits for 333. So I guess the commerce perk is bugged or does not apply to this although I do not understand why it wouldn't from the wording in it's description. Anyone else have this or know what is causing it?
Has anyone explored leveraging an AMP factory into an O2 shot factory? Looks like 450c/.01m vs 100c/.01m, with the need for metabolic agent, chlorine, and sedative. It also looks like you could do better than AMP producing Penicillin X w/ Antimicrobial, Membrane, and Metabolic Agent. Looks like you can farm Tufted Snow Willow right on Jemison.
Sorry obviously you've already got the Tufted Snow Willow. You can also get chlorine on Jemison. All thats left is sedative which you can get on Procyon III with husbandry or Freya III with greenhouses. Then you could make snake oil + amp + metabolic agent for O2 shots.
Just use personal atmosphere u can stay at full oxygen permanently. Can't fast travel unless you're in you're ship but overencumbered is not an issue with personal atmosphere
This thing prints money, only critique is not using a 1hr reset vendor to dump those into.. running around neon and selling to every trader and waiting 1.5 sleeps for a reset is ruining the massive line of efficiency you had
for some reason my base keeps producing masses of toxin but hardly any metabolic agent, all are linked to water properly and linked out to containers. Nothing is full up, its as if metabolic agents take longer to produce or is something wrong with my setup
thanks for the quick reply dude @TacticatGaming yeah all connected up, was me being a twat, Didnt notice some pirates had shot up my base and some things needed repairing lol. Wish there was an alarm system. Going to spam turrets everywhere now :) Thanks for the guide btw.
Im on Xbox. Is there a way to speed up how you scroll when selling? What i mean is, when i go to a vendor to sell the Amp, my option to sell is maxed all the way to the right. In order to sell him 5k credits worth of Amp rather than my entire storage of 6k, it takes 5 mins of holding the left button to reduce how much i want to sell. It counts down very slowly. Is there a way to speed it up? The dame applies when crafting Amp except in the opposite direct. Crafting starts at 1 and i have to hold the right button to get it to 99 rather than it starting at 99 or being able to fast move the amount.
This build is great but on console takes a while to reduce quantities when selling to the vendors. Anyone know of a way to reduce quantities quicker on console when selling off the amp then just using the D pad?

You can dump things at the Lodge 😮
@@KhairulFadzlyAKarim Yes, the storage box in the cellar where the crafting benches are has unlimited storage. So even if you amass tons (as in literally thousands of kg) of materials, you can just dump them all there. You need to carry them to craft with them though, unlike in outposts. But this is the easiest method to switch between "overencumbered outpost mode" and normal questing. If you want to drag all that stuff to an outpost, it is quite a bit of overencumbered walking, but it gets better as soon as you have the personal atmosphere power which allows you to run overencumbered.
Takes me a week to build one of these outpost. I am like two outpost behind. But I think I'll put this on the top of my list
yeah i finally got 5 resources in one outpost start building to find out half my outpost is in a restricted zone so i cant get those resources
My ship is breaking its back carrying resources which i hardly ever use. Now i find an infinite box in the lodge work area 🙈 THANK YOU. Time to offload my ship.
Very nice video easy to understand well put together. Ive built my 2nd Amp base now so ty.
Really appreciate the video. We are all at varying knowledge and ability and your video covers it all. Thank you
Thanks much for this guide and others. Only way to play!
back to bessel 3b for me and take down my stack of 40 boxes for each resource No wonder I have had to redo it a few times. didn't know about the link limits. also gotta go to the outposts I have done and take some down and consolidate and I also need to connect my transfer containers.
This guide is especially helpful as we can pretty much be off our faces on space crack 24/7 :) Not much we can do with unlimited adaptive frames lol
Nice setup. Going to mimic this
I love how Vollii sell a drug to slow you down and now you are flooding the market with a drug to make you go faster
Lmao I didn’t think about it that way
YaHoo! Another great outpost video! TC, I don't know how you keep cranking some many good/helpful videos, but thank you!
I appreciate the fact that you show things that will become 'building blocks' or ways to things we can apply later, maybe even on our own ;) lol Have a great weekend TC
lol yeah this game is buggy@@shawnp6653
@@TacticatGaming Worked great. Thanks for the heads up.
You can change the move sensitivity in the settings. Not sure if this was discussed. Helped me a lot. gl and have fun!
Very nice. I'm terrible about remembering to buff. Thanks for the reminder to set em on hot key
Sarah Morgan thinking "not again" as I punch in the co-ords for Venus. Knowing damn well I'm gonna get out of this cockpit, walk over to the couch, and stare catatonically at the wall for another 2400 hours
Sold. And sub gained. Great straightforward content. Thx
Amp is the new Jet. Bethesda end game is just Cartel Simulator and I love it
This is fantastic! I just spent a lot of time with the three biome, adaptive frame farming. You have sold me on this and I'll try it asap.
I doubt I’ll ever do this but I enjoyed the video.
Outstanding tutorial. Thanks dude!
When you are buying med packs, you should look for trauma packs and, I think they are called emergency packs. They give you a higher percentage of health regen at a faster rate than the med packs.
Yeah, but the upside of medpacks is that they have 0 weight so you can carry infinite amount, just like ammo.
this is awesome slowly scaling it up to your level to keep it organized but wow the potential. no matter where we sell over a hundred k worth at 5-11k a shot is a bit of a grind even on Venus but worth it.
I mainly keep 1000 mass - 600,000 credits on my ship and sell it for ammo and clean people out as a i travel - makes buying ammo and healing meds a breeze
And to everyone who is playing in German:
The 2 plants you´re looking for are called
- Spiralrebe
- Buschelige Netzweide
Oh, and "Tungsten" is called Wolfram.
Just in case ;)
Thanks for the guide! Awesome!

thank you very useful. Particularly for full explaining scanning. I thought I understood it but I did not :)

Bessel 3 has a better wait time ratio, if I remember right it's somewhere around 140-150 hours UC for 1 hour planet time.
Nice I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing this!
Great video. Just did the build and it works great. Also there is a typo in your spreadsheet. Says 65 Tungsten. Outstanding video. Thank you.
Glad it helped. Thank you for pointing out that typo - i updated that to 605 - appreciate it greatly!
Simply harvesting the plant scans them
After watching this video and reading the comments I think what I'm going to do is, because I have almost 10,000 cargo available on my ship, I'm going to reduce that down to about 7500 for better mobility, and I'm going to keep a stock of $4, 000 lb of amp at any given time for a quick 300k if needed that way I could just play the game normally and sell wherever whenever to stockpile some money and not have to sleep.
Great video thanks so much. i had AMP factory on jemison but it was not as efficient as this so destroying it and following your setup
Awesome video, got yourself a new subscriber
Glad you enjoyed the video!
It is a total - but you only need one pharmaceutical lab@@TimMyles
@@TacticatGaming hmmmm I think when building the greenhouses it was using benzine, bringing the total up for me. I'll have to check this again later, maybe I didn't spec a required skill point or something, or I was just too damn high at the time lol. I'll be sure to come back and let you know once I'm back at the PC tonight.
You shouldn't need benzine for the 1st greenhouse - if you're building the commercial greenhouse that's another beast@@TimMyles

Great job thanks
Thank you!
Sometimes the plants get bugged at 100% and are a solid blue - try scanning the plant one more time
I’ve tested this on a lvl 17 with no skills but botany
@@TacticatGaming I updated my main comment. Pretty positive it was *just* because I did all my scanning *before* I unlocked Botany skill. Since I have it now, just went to each and rescanned and it is all working now. Oops on my part. Too eager. LOL
Yeah that seems to be the issue 95% of the time
Great guide.
Hold or tap bumper at same time to speed it up
@@DargSix you’re the real MVP.
Amp is the key to the Red Mile.
Hahahahahaha!!! space squirl.. I love it!!!!
I think Sydonia on Mars is the best place to sell, it has 2 stores close with a cred-limit of around 12k .
Unless you can find an outpost on Venus with a vendor...
A great compliment for those of us with a luxury vehicle addiction. Every big spender needs an RP drug cartel.
i'm working on a better build that will do everything here + allow you to craft 9 more pharmaceuticals
i got 2843 amps and sold at the key for 28k creds thanks!
Oh yeah the key has a decent amount of shops right next to eachother didnt think of that one
@@bakedpotato7201 yes basically if one runs out of creds i go to another
figured out a way to stack rows in a cube. only tested w the large ones. place a large container, then place a small one in the corner you want to go towards. on top of the small one place a med one with half sticking over the way you want your stacks to go. place another small one uner the part that sticks out from the med one an then you can place another large exactly beside the first one. bit of a pia, but it works an is so much more neat imo
will prolly work with med boxes too, but i doubt the small will work
Top job on the tutorial keep up the great work ! 🔥
Transfer stations allow you to rapidly remove materials if you want to take them elsewhere
finally some useful information, that tip about dropping the stuff on the floor in your ship to get around storage caps ...👍...watch them patch that to make life miserable again
Lol yeah that’s why I was mentioning even though it seems crazy I hold my stuff

I just tested a small amount on the floor of the main cabin and jumped to another planet. It stayed this time.😅

I dont understand what the transfer container does. I saw that you linked eberything to it but i dont know why
Allows you to empty every container connected to it in 30 seconds
Man, I thought this was going to be simple.. I think I will stick to getting credits the old fashioned way.
You mean you’re going to steal them?
@@JamesBond-zd5jx Yeah but only from the dead enemies of the UC.
@@JamesBond-zd5jx Dude, i can get 11k credits simply by extorsion (piracy) in space. To build this shit to make money.. will take MORE TIME than anything i do currently. It's just stupid af. Jokes aside, great guide!

Yeah i've been getting 15 with a high perk so i'm not sure it's applying. I would anticipate at rank two i'd get at least 16 per lol
Looks like I stared ng+ at the right time

go to the well trad authority instead to sell, or the den 11k trade
Ouch. I’m unfamiliar with the x-box controls unfortunately
