I actually adore the classic UA-cam iOS app. I remember using it on my iPhone 3G. That iPhone 3G was my first true smartphone I've ever had (a true smartphone being a smartphone with an actual OS & app store, my only smartphones prior to the purchase of my iPhone 3G were faux-smartphones, a.k.a smartphones with a feature phone OS & not really much of an app store). I cherished that phone, until it broke down in early 2013. (I've had that iPhone 3G since 2009)

That icon just brings me back to 2010-11 when I installed an iOS style launcher on my HTC which I'm pretty sure ran Android 2.0
On that note I also really miss that old Android UA-cam app, back when it had a dark theme by default and only had a choice between HQ and LQ. I used to watch so many videos on a small screen on low quality which was probably close to 240p If not worse, the 0.2Mbps connection I had couldn't do better
I mean, the first UA-cam on Androids was also nostalgic. Opening the app and you already see the recommended and trends. Nothing else.
iOS 5 and 6 were the most beautiful os’s apple has ever come up with. Miss those days
From my experience its sad that iOS 6 on my iPod touch only works partially many Apps like Apple Maps,App Store etc. just don’t work, are slow or crash all the time but iOS 5 works better, is faster and more stable

Until my iPhone XS broke recently, I had the first page of apps arranged (almost) exactly as they were by default on iOS 4! The current UA-cam app was where the stock app was and with Game Center no longer being a separate app, I put Apple TV where that was!
I have a iPad mini 1, updated to iOS 9.3.5, has Game Center on it.
Yesterday I did this on the iPad(1st-gen).It came back to life

Man! This brings back memories. My first iPhone was the 4S on iOS 5.1.1. Pre-iOS 7 design was the best and iOS 6 was the most stable, in my experience. I got it in June of 2012 and had it until December of 2013 for the 5S.
5s came out in 2013 end and has iOS 7...

This where I know about UA-cam since the 2010s, and from 2017 or 2018, I started uploading videos.
Man, my iPad 2 that was basically bricked by apple wished it was still on iOS 6.
Props to UA-cam / Google for maintaining backwards compatibility for the api
I don't think they did. There's a 3rd party program translating between the modern and legacy API.

Please Help🙏🙏🙏 I"ve entered API key on my iPhone and it works, but when I try to launch app on my iPad (iOS 6.1.3) and iPod (iOS 5.1.1) it says : "API Key Error: API key not valid. Please pass a valid API key" on iPad. And on iPod it says : "The default TubeFixer API key will not work. Please set your own via the TubeFixer preferences panel in the Settings app". The API Key was entered correctly on all devices. Any idea how to fix this ?

To be honest they should just make a rebooted version of this app with semi modern features while still having that nostalgia and what not and maybe make a option during the process when you first boot your android phone up which version of UA-cam you want classic or modern (today's UA-cam) I think it would be cool honestly

The only involvement Google had with the classic UA-cam App was giving them the API and coding for the actual app the UI was all apple Google had no input at all on it. The repo is the same app just with a working and up to date API which is honestly the best you're going to get really since Google isn't going to make an effort to licenese the design from apple to do something that only a few people are going to give a shit about. Why would google needlessly bloat the android rom like that when it's already going to be bloated to shit by the time any Android device manufacturer gets their hands on it.

at that time youtube was ran by a couple of people but then google decided to by youtube and google took over as owner :)

no, for me it stopped working too. but it was working before! i even tried going back to google cloud console to check the API credentials, but it was the same! (here from the uk btw)
I tried it on an iPhone 4s with ios 6 and it worked perfectly but now on my iPad 1 with ios 5 it doesn't work either... (also in Germany)

so i got my ipad 1 jailbroken, so i tried installing tubefixer through cydia and theres supposed to be that tab in settings but i dont see those options. is there something i did wrong?
thats because after you add that link in the source tab you have to go to the search tab and search tubefixer for ios. after you search it you click on modify on the right top and press "install"
