Schedules can be a primary cause of stress, when we try to push through to a location in one go. Alternately an option we started to follow was from 4pm onwards we have started to keep an eye out for a good spot to camp and set up before the sun goes down, and it works a treat. Removes a lot of anxiety and created uplanned experiences. All part of the adventure. Good to see you were patient with each other through the experience.
You are absolutely right mate! So much easier when you dont have to stick to a schedule hey! We have had to change plans at the last minute due to road closures on this trip, and we have ended up at places we hadn't planned on going. Which like you say , they have been unplanned adventures 😊 happy and safe travels to you and thanks for watching!
Just found your channel and loved this episode. I bet this day is a day you will talk about around the fire for years to come. Look forward to watching more.
Just found your channel and loved this episode. What a day you had! And what fun memories - now you've made it out. It certainly is beautiful country out there. We were out in the West Macs not so long ago ourselves. We couldn't attempt the Boggy Hole track as we were towing a caravan but it sure looked good. 👍😄
Cheers guys! Thanks for the kind feedback 😊 yes certainly a day we won't forget 🤣 the countryside is just spectacular, isn't it! How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful country 🧡 I see you have some videos on the Gibb on your channel, will have to check them out, as we are doing that soon 😊 thanks for watching!
Great Video Guys, came across your channel good to see you made it out, it took a little bit longer in the end its about the journey and memories made cheers
Well done guys, great episode. Reminded me of some of our trips when our kids were younger. Can be stressful at the time but oh boy, do you have some great stories to tell afterwards and ones you will cherish forever.
Thanks Sherene! Yes you are absolutely right, at the time they can be stressful. But really makes for the adventure and one you won't forget 😁 thanks for watching!
You guys were keen to take the camper down that loved it seeing it. Partner and I did the same track November last yr. It was bloody epic we loved the adventure. But we went from palm valley to kings station and we had to sleep in car park there as we got in late. It was a bloody unreal track that ms for sure
Such an awesome track isn't it!! The scenery was spectacular hey. Not sure we would of taken the camper had we realised what the track was like, but certainly was an adventure we don't regret now 😊 thanks for watching mate!
Wow - been following you guys for a while and honestly you're legends for taking the trip on - an epic journey by all accounts. Great fun watching your travels - keep it up.
Thanks Angus! To be honest we didn't really know quite what we were in for with the track. But despite the hurdles of the day, it was a pretty cool adventure 😊 thanks for watching and your support mate!
Wow what a trip , very brave to go that way alone with no back up recovery mates . Glad you made it with a smile and a memory that will last a life time ,, but gee you must of been exhausted . You idiots what on earth were you thinking lol 😅😅😅😅😂❤
🤣🤣 I'm not sure brave is the word, more like unaware of what we were in for. Bad planning on this one! 🤣 but it is certainly a day we won't forget! We learnt a lot that day, so hopefully, no repeats in the future 😁 yep we all slept well that night! 😴
Thanks Craig, we really appreciate that! We just use a handle we got from Gro pro, I believe it is called a 3 way? It also turns into a tripod as well, so quite handy. Thanks for watching mate!
Hey Phillip, 100% agree. A torque wrench, spare nuts and studs are a must. I check them often, especially after dirt roads/tracks. I'll even double check the tyre shops handy work, which is rarely correct. Thanks for watching.
Stressful ep. Loved watching it from the comfort of the lounge room with a cold Peroni. Did you consider parking up and camping for the night, at any point?
It was a tad stressful at times 🤣 we did consider it, but I really wanted to get reception to let dad know to not send out a search party 🤣 also we only had 2 nights in palm valley as we were meeting back up with dad. So figured it was best just to push on and save having an extra set up and pack down.
Hey mate initially when we got bogged we were in low range, which I believe disables traction control. Later on though when we were trying to get out we had crawl control enabled, which maybe we why it looked like it? Thanks for watching!
Well done to get thru all of that! Doesn't look like there is much clearance under your car or camper van .maybe a couple more inches of lift? What tyres are you using on the car?
Hey Jason. The Car has a 2 inch lift and I'm running 33s. I didn't want to go too crazy with the mods as it's also a daily driver and family car. It looked super Bogged in the vid (which it was) but it wasn't resting on the chassis of the car or the camper. And the diff only slightly touched the sand on one occasion. Thanks for watching 🍻
Initially we weren't close enough to winch off of anything. When we were finally close enough where we could have used the winch, we finally got out 😁 Thanks for watching!
We didn't turn around as by the time we got to the point where it said campers weren't recommended, we only had 50kms left on the track. If we turned around, we would have had over 200kms to get to Palm Valley. It was already 4:30 pm, so we decided to just continue on. Was worth the adventure! 😁
We can, and we will when we need to change the shocks and suspension. In this case I'm not sure it would of made a difference, as in hindsight, I don't think the camper got hung up. I think it got stuck on the rise cause the car bogged down.
🤣 unfortunately not that day. We had a bit of a tight schedule those few days, which was a shame as it was such a beautiful spot. Thanks for watching mate!
I want to know why you didn't just make camp along the way somewhere and have that roast you don't travel out there in the dark believe me thank god nothing serious went wrong 🙏
We did consider stopping a couple of time, but we only had two nights we could spend at Palm Valley as we were meeting up with family after. So, we figured it was best just to push on so we at least had one full day there to explore. Thanks for watching!
We did consider getting a troopy. But we find the cruiser more suited for us as an everyday family car. We have starlink, so if we needed to we could of hooked that up. Thanks for watching!
@@RoaminintheRobbo agree with the every day car. Just brought a troopy , only 2 door but would be confident to go anywhere in it (except sand). Sat phone only $17 per month.
@trevor bayfield wish we could just go the sat phone, much cheaper option. Unfortunately need starlink for the kids schooling. Quite expensive though 👎Congrats on the new troopy! Great car choice!
@trevor bayfield they were on about 20 psi when we got stuck, then Craig let some more out after we got bogged. I think if we didn't have the trailer on we would of been fine.
What an absolutely epic episode. Loved how you overcame all those obstacles and still managed a smile and a laugh
Thanks Charlotte! It certainly is a day we won't forget 🤣 thanks for watching 😊
You never make memories from perfect trips. It's the ones where you overcome obstacles and persevere that make those special memories. Well done.

Thanks! There certainly was some stressful moments this day, but it is certainly a day we still talk about 😂
We did the track two years ago with friends and spent two nights camping along the way. It's beautiful!
That sounds amazing! Where did you camp? We definitely want to go back one day and spend more time. It was so beautiful through there.
@@RoaminintheRobbo it looked very much like the spot you stopped for lunch!!

@@RoaminintheRobbo There are wonderful hikes in the area. Hope you did some of them.
